December 16th – Romans 6:23

Romans 6:23

A wonderful thing usually happens around the holidays. We hear news of good Samaritans going around and paying off the debts of others. We too have a Good Samaritan, Jesus Christ. We all have a debt owing, for the penalty of sin is death, and it has to be paid one way or the other. Either we pay it on our own with our lives, or we let Jesus pay it in full. For God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as a perfect sin offering. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus wipes away all of our sin, and in the eyes of God declares us debt free!
