May 17th – Revelation 3:20

Revelation 3:20

What would you do if you answered the door and found Jesus on the other side wanting to join you for dinner? Would you invite Him in? There’s nothing Jesus wants more than to have a loving, personal relationship with each of us. Yet He will not force us into a friendship. Instead He stands at the door of hearts, knocking, waiting for us to ask Him in. For He knows the joy awaiting us when we abide in Jesus. A joy made complete in Christ as we declare Him as our Savior and receive the glorious transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit. Do you hear the voice of Jesus? Is He knocking on the door of your heart? Invite Him into your life, join yourself to Christ, and pull up a chair to dine with the Lord forever!

May 16th – Psalm 15:1

Psalm 15:1

In Psalm 15 David asks, who is worthy to live in God’s house? Worthy to worship God and be near Him? The answer is no one. Not one single person can be counted as righteous enough to dwell in eternity with the Almighty Living God. Nor not one able to stand in His presence. And that is why our need for a Savior is so great. When we receive Jesus as our Savior and abide in Him, because of grace through faith, the once unworthy becomes deserving in the eyes of God. Through Christ, we now stand knocking at His door virtuous, forgiven, and welcomed in to dwell in the house of our Father forever!

May 15th – John 15:6

John 15:6

Sadly many people who receive Jesus as their Savior stay as superficial Christians. They are saved, but their relationship with Jesus stays at a surface level and their lives produce no good fruit.  Like a dry, withered branch of a vine, they produce nothing of worth for the kingdom of God. But when we abide in Jesus and let Him work in and through us, we develop a deep, intimate, relationship with Him. This allows us to productively work hand in hand with the Lord and become lush, bountiful, fruitful vines. And when we produce good fruit for the glory of God, we in turn receive the blessings and joy of a job well done!

More than enough – Luke 9

Luke 9

After being sent out by Jesus to preach the gospel, the disciples returned to give an account to the Lord of all they had done. Wanting to hear their news and spend time alone with them, Jesus took the twelve to the city of Bethsaida. However, others were also eager for the teaching and healing of the Lord. And a large crowd followed. So instead Jesus spent the day ministering to the people. …

May 14th – Romans 8:16

Romans 8:16

Do you ever find yourself wondering if God truly calls you His child? Doubt is a powerful weapon of the Enemy, and he wields it at every turn. In these moments of attacks, we can find reassurance in the Holy Spirit. For He lovingly testifies to our human spirits that when we faithfully abide in Jesus, we are indeed His. So cast aside the lies of Satan. Listen instead to the truth of the Spirit. And stand in God’s promise that the moment we receive Jesus as our Savior we become adopted heirs in the family of Christ, and His beloved children forever.

AOC Blasts Fellow Democrat For Supporting Israel

When Andrew Yang, who has plans to run for mayor of New York, released a statement in support of Israel, he was met with harsh criticism from fellow democrats. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who calls Israel occupiers, was the biggest critic after Yang tweeted, “I’m standing with the people of Israel who are coming under bombardment attacks, and condemn the Hamas terrorists. The people of NYC will always stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel who face down terrorism and persevere.” AOC cheered when the next day, Yang was uninvited by Muslim organizers from an event that would have commemorated the Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr. American Bible Society Releases 11th Annual State Of The Bible Report

If anything good can come from the recent epidemic, it’s that more people are reading their Bibles. American Bible Society released the first two chapters of their 11th annual State of the Bible report, which highlights cultural trends in the U.S. regarding spirituality and Scripture engagement. The release shows that millions more Americans turned to the Bible in the past year than in previous years; one in four U.S. adults report a more frequent Bible reading habit than did last year. The findings come from a survey conducted in January 2021, in which data were gathered from 3,354 online interviews with American adults in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. New Tech Makes Perishable Food Last Longer

In the U.S., households throw out around 30 million tons of food each year. But new technology could help eliminate the need for cold storage. Farther Farms, a startup based in upstate New York, developed a new type of pasteurization that makes food last longer, so perishable food can sit on a shelf instead of in a fridge. As proof, the company made packaged french fries, usually sold frozen, that can sit at room temperature for 90 days before eaten. Even better: The process doesn’t use artificial preservatives. May 13th – Job 22:21

Job 22:21

When Job was in the middle of his suffering, his friend Eliphaz tried to give him some sage advice. “Repent and return to the Lord.” However in this case, sin wasn’t the cause of Job’s problems. Yet even though Eliphaz’s words of wisdom didn’t apply to Job, they are great advice for us. When we have sinned against God and strayed off His path, broken fellowship results. But when we come to Him in confession and repentance, our hearts can once again find peace and joy. And by remaining in the Lord, establishing His Word in our hearts, and walking in obedience, we can experience the eternal goodness of Jesus.

May 12th – Acts 10:34

Acts 10:34

When it came to salvation, the Jewish people felt pretty special being God’s chosen. For He protected, loved, and picked them above every other peoples in the world. So they were filled with jealousy when Peter proclaimed God’s plan of salvation is available to all, both Jew and Gentile. But it has always been God’s plan from the start that none of His children should perish. For just like John 3:16 tells us, “whoever” receives Christ as their Savior shall be saved. Not just some, not just a few, but whoever. Because in God there is found no partiality. And all who abide in Him in love and obedience, will receive His gift of everlasting life!

Biden Reversal May Effect Religious Liberty Of Doctors

The Biden administration has announced it is reversing a Trump-era policy that advocates say protected the religious liberty of Christian doctors. At issue is a portion of the Affordable Care Act that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex within health care. Previously interpreted by the Trump administration to refer to “male or female and as determined by biology,” the Biden administration now prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, including transgenderism. Enforcement of the new rule is effective immediately, and critics say Christian doctors and other religious medical personnel may be forced to perform gender-transition procedures, including surgery which go against their religious beliefs. May 11th – Psalm 25:20

Psalm 25:20

Being a Christian comes with a target on our backs. Because the moment we announce that we follow Jesus, people start watching. They want to see if our words line up with our deeds. And there are some who wait in the wings to watch us fall. Gleefully they use the opportunity to mock both us and God. But for those who abide in the Lord and make Him their refuge, there is no shame to be found.  For God is steadfast in love and faithfulness. And in His perfect, unmerited grace, He delivers us from our enemies and silences the critics.
