Critics Doubt Modern Day Jonah Story
Cape Cod fisherman Michael Packard made headlines around the world last week when he told reporters about being swallowed whole by a humpback whale while diving for lobsters off Provincetown, Massachusetts on Friday. But not all are buying his story. Packard said that he felt a “huge shove” and then everything went “completely black” and he realized he was inside the mouth of the whale. “Then all of a sudden [the whale] went up to the surface and just erupted and started shaking his head. I just got thrown in the air and landed in the water,” Yet a doctor and fellow fisherman call it a tall tale. However, while rare, there have been incidents of humpback whales swallowing humans. Dr. Charles Stanley Victim Of Internet Hoax
Beloved Pastor, Dr. Charles Stanley has been the latest subject in an internet hoax. A web page that resembles the Fox News website, replete with the network’s logo in the left corner, claims that Baptist pastor Charles Stanley is selling CBD and that he said he “wouldn’t be here” without it. This story isn’t authentic, and Stanley isn’t selling CBD, a chemical found in cannabis plants. Neither are Joel Osteen and Pat Robertson, two other television evangelists whose names and fabricated quotes endorsing CBD gummies are mentioned in the fake stories. Stanley did not address the scam during his televised sermon on Saturday, but he did preach about the dangers of deception. Read more about the hoax here.
Bebe Netanyahu Out As Israel’s Prime Minister
Israel’s parliament on Sunday narrowly approved a new coalition government, ending the historic 12-year rule of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Naftali Bennett, a former ally of Netanyahu turned rival, became prime minister after the 60-59 vote. The vote, capping a stormy parliamentary session, ended a two-year cycle of political paralysis in which the country held four deadlocked elections. President Joe Biden quickly congratulated the new government saying, “I look forward to working with Prime Minister Bennett to strengthen all aspects of the close and enduring relationship between our two nations,” Read more about Netanyahu’s exit here.
