Anticipation

October 11th – 1 John 3:2-3

1 John 3:2-3

There’s real power in the hope we find in Christ alone. It shapes the way we see life and how we choose to live each day. And the hope we find knowing Jesus is coming again, shifts our focus from what’s temporary to what’s eternal. We stop chasing the things that fade and start living for what will last. It’s a daily motivation to live pure, love deeply, and walk closely with Him. Every choice, every word, and every thought becomes an opportunity to reflect the One we belong to. We may not fully grasp what it will be like to see Jesus face to face, but the thought of that moment stirs something sacred within us. It calls us to live ready, keeping our oil lamps filled and lit. When we fix our eyes on the Lord’s return, distractions lose their pull and holiness becomes our heartbeat. One day, everything broken will be made whole, and we’ll finally be like Jesus. Until then, may our lives shine with hope, our hearts stay anchored in His promises, and our days be marked by the quiet anticipation of that glorious reunion.

October 10th – Revelation 19:7

Revelation 19:7

There’s something sacred about the anticipation that fills the air before a wedding. When every detail has been lovingly prepared and every heart waits in breathless joy for the moment the bride begins her walk down the aisle. That’s the picture God paints of His Church. A bride beautifully prepared for her Groom. We are living in the end times, waiting for that glorious day when Jesus returns. But this waiting isn’t wasted time, it’s holy preparation. Every act of love, every moment of faithfulness, and every quiet prayer is part of getting ready for that heavenly celebration. Meaning we’re not just passing time. We’re being refined, adorned in grace, and made radiant by His righteousness. The world may not understand our waiting, but we wait with joy because we know the Bridegroom is coming. One day, we’ll hear heaven’s celebration ring out, and every tear and trial will be redeemed. Until then, may our hearts stay steadfast, our lamps burning bright, and our eyes fixed on the One who calls us His beloved.

May 22nd – Zechariah 14:3

Zechariah 14:3

In the quiet hush of dawn, Christ first came. He came not with the roar of a Lion but with the tender grace of a Lamb, walking amongst us in humility and love. But Zechariah’s prophecy regarding the second triumphant return of Jesus is very different. For this time He will come not as the gentle and humble Lamb, but as the fierce Lion of Judah, majestic and mighty. Oh how the anticipation swells within our hearts, knowing that we shall ride alongside Him! On white chargers, our souls ablaze with the fire of righteousness, we too will return. For we will be given the honor and privilege to be counted among the ranks of God’s mighty army. Standing firm in the face of darkness, wielding the sword of truth, we will march boldly for the Lord. So as the days grow short until the dawn of His return, let us lift our voices in joy! Because we are chosen to stand shoulder to shoulder with the King of Kings, as His faithful warriors in the battle for righteousness and redemption.

April 10th – Revelation22:12

Revelation 22:12

When Jesus returns, He won’t come empty-handed. He’ll bring with Him the glory of justice, rewarding each person according to their deeds. For the faithful, there are promises of heavenly rewards. Earned for their steadfastness in righteousness. Yet, for those who have turned away from God, there awaits a reckoning. For every action, good and bad, will face its consequence. The return of Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of God’s justice, ensuring that no deed goes unnoticed or unrewarded. The apostle Paul, nearing his own execution, eagerly anticipated receiving the crown of righteousness from the Lord. Yet he humbly acknowledged that all who long for the Lord’s appearing share in this promise. As we journey through life, let us hold fast to the hope of our heavenly reward, living with faithfulness and integrity in every deed. And let us not forget that God’s justice ensures that every action, whether seen or unseen, will be met with its due payment, both for good and evil.

May 9th – Matthew 6:19-21

Matthew 6:19-21

I can remember as a child watching the television show, “The Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous.” Each episode I blown away by the expensive houses, cars, jewelry, and fashion highlighted. Yet as nice as earthly treasures are, Matthew urges us to set our hearts instead on storing up treasures in heaven. For in a world where material possessions fade and riches are fleeting, the kingdom of God stands as an eternal and incorruptible inheritance. One that will never tarnish, or can be taken away. So instead of chasing after worldly pleasures and treasures, let us prioritize the work of the Lord, knowing that our true reward awaits us in eternity. May our lives be characterized by sacrificial love, compassionate service, and unwavering devotion to God’s will. And as we await the fulfillment of His promises, let us live with joyful anticipation. Because our ultimate inheritance is eternal life in Christ. Where joy abounds, every tear wiped away, and each longing fulfilled in His glorious presence.
