June 10th – Psalm 119:105

Psalm 119:105

Just as our bodies need food each day to stay healthy and strong, our souls need the nourishment of God’s Word. Yet how often do we rush through our days feeding everything except our spirit? We fill our minds with news, social media, entertainment, and endless distractions, while neglecting the very thing that gives us wisdom, strength, and direction.

Psalm 119:105 reminds us that God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. And while it doesn’t always reveal the entire journey ahead, it does give us enough light for the next step. When life feels confusing, God’s Word brings clarity. When we’re discouraged, it brings hope. When we’re tempted, it gives us strength. When we’re anxious, it reminds us of God’s promises.

The more time we spend in Scripture, the more our hearts are shaped by God’s truth rather than the opinions of the world. We begin to think differently, respond differently, and trust God more deeply. Just as a healthy diet strengthens the body, a steady diet of God’s Word strengthens our faith.

If you want to grow closer to Jesus, start by opening His Word. Feed on it daily. Meditate on it. Treasure it in your heart. The Bible is more than words on a page. It’s God’s living message to His children, guiding us, nourishing us, and leading us safely home.

June 9th – Philippians 4:6

Philippians 4:6

Today’s world gives us plenty of reasons to be anxious. Between our families, our health, our finances, and our future, there are plenty of reasons to worry. And that’s exactly how Satan likes it. Because he knows worry has a way of consuming our thoughts, stealing our peace, and pulling our focus away from God. Which is the very place we need to be when life feels uncertain.

That’s why Philippians 4:6 is such a powerful reminder. Instead of carrying our burdens alone, God invites us to bring every concern to Him in prayer. Not just the big things, but the small things too. Every fear, every hurt, every unanswered question can be placed into the hands of our Heavenly Father.

Worry keeps us focused on our problems, but prayer shifts our focus to God’s power. It reminds us of what we can’t do. But prayer reminds us of what God can do. Not that doesn’t mean our circumstances immediately change, but it does mean we no longer have to carry them by ourselves.

So the next time anxiety begins to creep into your heart, let it serve as a reminder to pray. Turn your worries into conversations with God and trust that the One who loves you most is already at work in ways you cannot yet see.

June 4th – Luke 9:23

Luke 9:23

When Jesus called His disciples, He didn’t promise them an easy road. Instead, He invited them to follow Him, day by day, step by step. The same invitation is extended to us today. Walking with God isn’t a one-time decision, it’s a daily choice. Each morning we decide whether we will follow our own desires or trust God’s plan for our lives.

Some days that choice comes easily. Other days it means surrendering our worries, forgiving someone who hurt us, choosing obedience when it’s difficult, or trusting God when we don’t understand what He’s doing. Taking up our cross isn’t about carrying a burden God never intended for us to bear. It’s about laying down our own will and choosing His instead.

The beautiful thing is that Jesus never asks us to walk a path He hasn’t already walked Himself. He knows the challenges we face, the temptations we encounter, and the struggles we carry. Yet He promises to be with us every step of the way. As we continue to follow Him through both the joys and hardships of life, we discover that no sacrifice compares to the privilege of walking closely with our Savior.

June 3rd – John 10:27

John 10:27

One of the most comforting things about belonging to Jesus is knowing that we are never left to walk through life alone. Our Shepherd still speaks to His people. He guides us through His Word, through prayer, through the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and through the quiet reminders of His presence in our daily lives.

But learning to recognize His voice takes time. In a world full of distractions, opinions, fears, and noise, it can be easy to miss the gentle leading of Jesus. That’s why spending time with Him matters so much. The closer we grow to Him, the more clearly we begin to recognize His voice above all the others competing for our attention.

But following Jesus isn’t only for the easy seasons of life. It’s one thing to follow Him when prayers are being answered and life feels joyful. It’s another thing to keep following when life is painful, confusing, or uncertain. Yet even in the hard seasons, our Shepherd never stops leading, loving, and caring for His sheep.

Sometimes He leads us beside still waters. Other times He walks with us through valleys we never expected to face. But through both the good times and the difficult ones, we can trust that the One leading us sees the bigger picture and knows exactly where He is taking us.

The beautiful thing about Jesus is that He never asks us to walk anywhere He won’t walk with us first. His voice brings peace, wisdom, comfort, conviction, and direction. And when we continue following Him day by day, even when we don’t fully understand the road ahead, we discover that our Shepherd is always faithful!

June 2nd – 2 Corinthians 5:17

2 Corinthians 5:17

No matter who we are, we all have things in our past we wish we could change. Words we wish we hadn’t spoken. Choices we wish we hadn’t made. Opportunities we missed. Wounds we’ve caused and wounds we’ve carried. Regret has a way of convincing us that our past will always define our future.

But that isn’t what Jesus says. One of the most beautiful truths of the Gospel is that through confession, repentance, and faith in Christ, we are forgiven. Not partially forgiven. Not reluctantly forgiven. Completely forgiven. The moment we place our trust in Jesus, we become a new creation. Our sins are washed away, our record is cleared, and we are given a fresh start.

I once heard someone say there’s a reason the windshield in a car is so much larger than the rearview mirror. Meaning that while it’s important to glance back occasionally, you can’t safely move forward if you’re constantly staring behind you. The same is true in our walk with God. He doesn’t want us living in the rearview mirror of guilt, shame, and regret. He wants us looking ahead to the hope, purpose, and future He has prepared for those who love Him.

That doesn’t mean we ignore the lessons of the past. It means we stop allowing the past to hold us captive. If God has forgiven us, we don’t need to keep condemning ourselves for what He has already removed.

Today, if old regrets are trying to steal your joy, remember this: your past may be part of your story, but it is not your identity. In Christ, you are forgiven, redeemed, and made new.

June 1st – Matthew 4:19

Matthew 4:19

One of my favorite childhood memories is fishing with my grandma. But there was one dreaded rule. if you wanted to fish, you had to bait your own hook. Oh how I hated reaching into that bait cup, picking up a slimy, wiggling worm, and threading it onto the hook. It was messy, uncomfortable, and definitely not my favorite part of the experience. But I loved my grandma, and spending time with her made it worth it.

Following Jesus can be a lot like that. Sometimes He calls us to do things that stretch us, challenge us, or take us outside our comfort zones. He may ask us to forgive when we’d rather hold a grudge, trust when we’d rather worry, or obey when we’d rather take the easier path. We don’t always enjoy what He asks of us in the moment, but His requests are never without purpose. Every step of obedience draws us closer to Him, shapes us more into His image, and deepens our relationship with the Savior we love.

When Jesus said, “Follow Me,” He wasn’t simply giving an invitation. He was inviting us into a life changing journey with Him. And in the end, being close to our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, is worth far more than any discomfort we experience along the way.

January 28th – Proverbs 20:24

Proverbs 20:24

Proverbs 20:24 reminds us that our steps are directed by the Lord, even when the world insists it knows a better way. Everywhere we turn, we are told who to be, what to have, how to look, what to wear, and how to define success. And those who don’t follow those expectations are often labeled misfits or pushed aside as unwanted. This constant pressure can leave us striving, exhausted, and feeling as though we never quite measure up. Yet true success is not found in doing more, becoming more, or accumulating more. Succeed is found in surrender. When we release our grip on the world’s plans and expectations and place our lives fully in God’s hands, we begin to walk in freedom rather than comparison. God’s ways may not always make sense to others. And the path He sets before us may look different than what the world applauds. But His plans are intentional, loving, and perfectly designed to lead us into a life of peace, purpose, and lasting fulfillment.

Reflection Question:
In what areas of your life are you still trying to meet the world’s expectations instead of fully surrendering to God’s direction?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, help me to release the pressure to measure up to the world’s standards and to trust You with my path. Teach me to surrender my plans, my identity, and my future into Your hands. Lead my steps according to Your will, and give me peace knowing that Your plans for my life are good, purposeful, and secure. Amen.

January 27th – Psalm 138:8

Psalm 138:8

We live in a world that tells us we have to have more, be more, and that our worth is determined by our number of followers. No wonder so many are discouraged. Psalm 138:8 speaks gently to those moments when we feel defeated, forgotten, or unsure of our worth. For it reminds us that God is still at work in our lives, even when we can’t see it or feel it. Your life is not an accident, and you are not insignificant. Every part of your story is held in God’s hands and filled with purpose. When you feel overlooked or stuck, His love remains constant and unchanging, surrounding you even in the silence. Because His love endures forever, you can be assured that He has not given up on you and never will. Even when your plans fall apart, when the road feels long, or when failures weigh heavy on your heart, God’s purpose remains firm. He isn’t discouraged by your weakness. Instead, He meets you there, using even the hardest seasons to shape you, strengthen you,  and gently lead you toward the good work He is still faithfully completing in you.

Reflection Question:
Where in your life do you need to trust that God is still working, even when the path looks different than you expected?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for the assurance that You will fulfill Your purpose in my life. Help me to trust You when I don’t understand the journey and to rest in Your unfailing love. Shape my heart through every circumstance, and give me faith to believe that You are finishing the good work You have begun in me. Amen.

January 24th – 2 Timothy 1:7

2 Timothy 1:7

Every new year, resolutions are made with hopeful hearts, yet statistics tell us that nearly 43% are abandoned by February. Often, it isn’t a lack of desire that causes us to quit. Instead, it’s fear, discouragement, and self-doubt that creep in when progress feels slow. Paul speaks directly to this struggle in 2 Timothy 1:7, reminding us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. The same divine power that flowed through Jesus as He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and even walked on water now resides within us through the Holy Spirit. That power is not distant or withheld. It’s offered to us daily, waiting with an outstretched hand. But overcoming fear is a two person operation. God provides the strength. But we are called to actively use the sound mind He has given us by practicing self-control. That means intentionally taking hold of our thoughts. And then filtering them through the truth of God’s Word instead of the lies the enemy whispers. When we partner with God in this way, fear loses its grip and perseverance takes its place.

Reflection Question:
What fears or negative thought patterns tend to derail your commitments, and how can you intentionally filter them through God’s truth instead of believing the enemy’s lies?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for giving me a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. When fear and doubt rise up, help me recognize them and bring my thoughts into alignment with Your truth. Teach me to partner with You by using the self-control You provide, so I may walk forward with confidence, perseverance, and faith. Amen.
