Psalm 77:11

Being part of a prayer group has taught me the beauty of remembering. Many of us keep prayer journals. Not just to write down our prayer requests, but to look back and see the many ways God has faithfully answered them. Psalm 77:11 reminds us how important it is to remember the works of the Lord. And especially when our hearts need reassurance. As we step into a new year, it’s easy to focus only on what lies ahead and forget how faithful God was in the year behind. Yet when we pause and look back, we see prayers that were once whispered now answered. We see blessings we never deserved. And an unconditional love that never wavered. Looking back, we remember moments when God showed up in quiet ways. And still others when His hand was unmistakable. These memories become anchors for our faith. They remind us that God has been with us every step of the way. So as we look to the year ahead, we can move forward with confidence. Because the same faithful God who carried us through last year is the same faithful God walking with us into this one.

On this Christmas Day, John 3:16 feels especially personal to us all. For it reminds us that God’s love didn’t stay distant. It came close, and in the flesh. God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ. A gift which arrived quietly, wrapped in humility, and laid in a manger. Jesus didn’t come because we had it all together. He came because we didn’t. He came for the weary hearts, the searching souls, the ones carrying hope and the ones barely holding on. Christmas is the reminder that love moved first, and that grace showed up before we ever asked. Nothing had to be earned, fixed, or proven. God simply gave. Jesus was born so we could have a life filled with forgiveness, purpose, and belonging. So today isn’t just about remembering His birth, it’s about receiving what He came to offer. If your heart longs for hope, peace, or a fresh beginning, Jesus is here for you. This Christmas Day, you can receive Him as your Savior and step into the life God has been lovingly offering all along.

He knew that thankfulness doesn’t just shift our mood. Gratitude strengthens our faith, softens our hearts, and reminds us of God’s steady goodness. It helps us see His fingerprints in our ordinary days, turning simple moments into reasons to praise. And it lifts our eyes from what’s missing to what’s already overflowing. When we choose to give thanks, even in the middle of hard seasons, something inside us begins to heal. God’s goodness isn’t fleeting or fragile. It doesn’t depend on how we feel or what we’re facing. His love holds steady, day after day, blessing after blessing. And a thankful heart lets us experience that truth more fully. One grateful breath at a time.

Not just praise that comes easily when everything is warm and festive, but praise that comes from a heart choosing gratitude even in the middle of the noise. Psalm 105:1-5

Every now and then Facebook shows me a memory I didn’t even remember I had. It brings up pictures of laughter, moments of answered prayer, or seasons I didn’t realize God was carrying me through at the time. It always surprises me how quickly we move on from things we once thanked Him for. Psalm 105:1–5 invites us to slow down and remember on purpose. It calls us to thank God openly, to actually talk about the things He’s done, and to let His faithfulness become part of our everyday conversations. We’re reminded to seek Him continually. And not just when life is hard, but in the simple, ordinary moments too. Because the same God who worked wonders long ago is still working in our stories right now. And when we take a moment to recall His goodness, gratitude begins to rise. When we talk about His works, our faith grows stronger. And when we draw near to Him, our souls finally breathe again. Psalm 105 shows us that remembering is a form of worship. It lifts our eyes and steadies our hearts in His unchanging love. So today, let’s treat our memories like tiny reminders of grace and thank Him for every glimpse of His hand.

At Thanksgiving the meal feels like the main event, with the turkey being the star of the show. And it is wonderful to have a full table, the house warm, and seeing everyone gathered around the food we worked so hard to prepare. But when we step back, we’re reminded that the real beauty isn’t in the menu at all. It’s in remembering the God who provides for us day after day. He’s the One who gives strength when we’re drained, peace when our minds are racing, and blessings we don’t even realize we need. It’s easy to save our gratitude for special occasions. But God deserves that same thankfulness on an ordinary Tuesday just as much as He does on a holiday. The praise we offer today shouldn’t be a once-a-year moment. It’s meant to spill into the simple, quiet places of our everyday lives. Because every breath, every meal, and every bit of goodness comes from His hand. And when we choose to thank God for the good the bad, and everything in between, gratitude becomes more than a tradition. It becomes the rhythm of our hearts.

2 Corinthians 9:10

As Thanksgiving gets closer, I’ve been thinking about how much God has poured into my life. The blessings I didn’t earn, and the grace I could never deserve. It reminds me that every good thing God gives isn’t meant to stop with me. Just like a seed planted in good soil grows far beyond its size, the grace, blessings, and love God gives to us are meant to grow into something bigger. Thanksgiving is the perfect time to look around for someone in need. Maybe it’s a meal, a listening ear, or a simple reminder that they’re not forgotten. Generosity doesn’t have to be expensive to be meaningful. It just has to come from a heart grateful for God’s abundance. And the awesome thing is every time we give, God keeps supplying what we need to give again. He multiplies our small offerings and turns them into a harvest of blessing in someone else’s life. When we open our hands, He fills them. Not so we can keep more, but so we can share more. And there’s no better season than this one to let His generosity flow through us.

Lord, thank You for every blessing You’ve placed in my life. Show me where I can give, how I can encourage, and who needs the overflow of what You’ve given me. Help my generosity reflect Your heart.

Waiting is one of the hardest things we’re asked to do. We live in a world that wants everything instantly, but God often works in seasons. A farmer doesn’t plant a seed today and expect a harvest tomorrow. He waits, waters, and trusts the process he can’t control. In the same way, our prayers, our dreams, and even our healing often require patience. Sometimes it feels like nothing is happening, like the ground is silent and still. But beneath the surface, God is at work, preparing growth we can’t yet see. Patience isn’t passive, it’s choosing to trust while we wait. It’s leaning into God’s timing, even when it doesn’t match our own. It’s believing that His delays are not His denials. And while we wait, He strengthens our faith, deepens our roots, and teaches us dependence on Him. One day, just like the harvest, the answer will come. And when it does, it will be worth every moment of waiting.

Generosity is like planting seeds, and God reminds us that what we sow will one day grow. If we sow sparingly, holding back our time, love, or resources, we can’t expect a harvest that overflows. But when we choose to give freely, trusting God, He multiplies it in ways we could never imagine. Sometimes we hold on so tightly to what we have, afraid we won’t have enough, but when our hands are clenched shut, they’re too full to receive the blessings God wants to give. Living generously isn’t just about money. It’s about giving our attention, offering encouragement, sharing kindness, and opening our lives to others. The harvest may not always look like a bigger bank account, but it shows up as peace in our spirit, contentment in our soul, joy that spills over, and relationships that grow richer. God doesn’t measure our generosity by the amount, but by the heart behind it. When we give with love and trust, we’re planting seeds that last for eternity. And every seed of generosity becomes an opportunity to look more like Jesus, the One who gave everything for us.
