Busyness

December 8th – John 5:15

John 5:15

Christmas is a busy season. So it’s easy to get wrapped up in decorating, baking, and buying, forgetting that the real joy of the season flows from staying connected to Jesus. Just like branches need the vine to stay alive, we need His presence to stay steady, peaceful, and full. When we try to do everything in our own strength, we feel tired, rushed, and overwhelmed. But when we slow down and draw close to Him, His peace settles our spirit and reminds us why this season matters. Christmas isn’t about perfection, it’s about connection. It’s about remaining in Christ’s love, even while the house is messy and the schedule is full. And when our hearts are tied to His, even small moments like wrapping gifts or washing dishes become meaningful. Without Jesus the lights feel empty and the celebrations feel hollow. But with Him, everything has purpose, warmth, and life. And that’s the beauty of Christmas. Staying connected to the One who came so we could truly live.

Reflection Question:
Where in my busy Christmas season do I need to slow down and reconnect my heart to Jesus instead of relying on my own strength?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, help me stay close to You in every moment of this season. When I feel rushed, tired, or distracted, draw my heart back to You. Teach me to rely on You daily and let Your peace and joy flow through me so my life reflects Your love. Amen.

Matthew 11:30

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

In today’s fast-paced world, the relentless demands of life often leave us feeling weak and weary. The constant hustle and bustle, the pressure to meet expectations, and the pursuit of success can take a toll on our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It is in these moments of exhaustion that the words of Jesus in Matthew offer solace and guidance. “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” In these simple yet profound words, Jesus invites us to turn to Him. To find rest in His presence, and to cast our heavy burdens upon Him. He wants us to lay everything at His feet and yoke ourselves to His side. Because in the midst of life’s frantic pace, Jesus offers us a refuge. He’s our source of strength and renewal. And reminds us that true rest and rejuvenation are found in a deep and abiding relationship with Him. In the embrace of His love and grace, we discover the strength to navigate the challenges of this world. And a peace that transcends the relentless demands of our busy lives.

June 10th – Luke 10:41-42

Luke 10:41-42

Could you imagine entertaining the Savior of the world in your own home? When Martha heard Jesus was coming to dinner, she rushed about preparing the meal and making sure everything was just right. But her strive for perfection, made her miss out on a amazing opportunity to spend time with the Lord. And as Jesus  admonished Martha, and all of us Martha’s out there, instead of sweating the small stuff and being “bothered by many things”, our focus should be on Him. Our priority above all else should be time spent at the feet of Jesus, listening to to the words of our Savior. Although acts of servitude and humility are important, they should come second to the close, personal fellowship that Jesus wants to experience with each of us. Because without Him we can do nothing. And producing true, good fruit for His kingdom comes only through His guidance and direction.
