1 John 3:2-3

There’s real power in the hope we find in Christ alone. It shapes the way we see life and how we choose to live each day. And the hope we find knowing Jesus is coming again, shifts our focus from what’s temporary to what’s eternal. We stop chasing the things that fade and start living for what will last. It’s a daily motivation to live pure, love deeply, and walk closely with Him. Every choice, every word, and every thought becomes an opportunity to reflect the One we belong to. We may not fully grasp what it will be like to see Jesus face to face, but the thought of that moment stirs something sacred within us. It calls us to live ready, keeping our oil lamps filled and lit. When we fix our eyes on the Lord’s return, distractions lose their pull and holiness becomes our heartbeat. One day, everything broken will be made whole, and we’ll finally be like Jesus. Until then, may our lives shine with hope, our hearts stay anchored in His promises, and our days be marked by the quiet anticipation of that glorious reunion.

Hosea 10:12

Planting seeds of righteousness is about the daily choices we make to live God’s way, even when it isn’t the easiest path. Just like a farmer prepares the ground, we prepare our hearts by letting God soften what has become hard or resistant to Him. Sometimes that means breaking up the “unplowed ground” of pride, fear, or old habits that keep us from fully following Him. Every act of obedience, choosing honesty, extending forgiveness, showing kindness, loving when it’s hard, is a seed planted in faith. These choices may seem small and hidden, but they grow into something eternal. And the reward is beautiful. When we sow righteousness, we reap the fruit of God’s unfailing love. His love surrounds us, strengthens us, and reminds us that He sees every effort to walk in His ways. Unlike the fleeting rewards the world offers, God’s harvest never fades. And the more we plant His truth in our lives, the more we’ll reflect His love to others. Every seed matters, because every seed planted in obedience draws us closer to Him.

Reflection Question: What “unplowed ground” in my heart might God be asking me to surrender so He can plant seeds of righteousness there?

Luke 8:11-15

God’s Word is like a seed. It carries life and power. But whether it grows in us depends on the condition of our hearts. Jesus explained that some people hear the Word, but before it can take root, the enemy distracts or discourages them. Others start strong, excited about what they hear, but when life gets hard, their faith fades. And many of us know what it feels like to let worries, busyness, or even chasing after “more” crowd out what God is trying to do. But then there’s the good soil. A heart that truly clings to God’s Word, holding onto it with patience and a willingness to obey. That’s where the harvest happens. Growth doesn’t just happen by accident. It comes as we daily choose to make space for God. Even the small, quiet choices to obey are like watering the soil of our hearts, helping roots go deeper. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it, because obedience leads to lasting fruit, peace, joy, and a life that points others back to Jesus. And it all begins with one seed. God’s Word planted in a heart that’s ready to receive it.

Reflection Question: What’s one area of my heart that needs softening so God’s Word can take deeper root?

With 1,000 wives and concubines, it’s safe to say Solomon knew a thing or two about raising children. He understood the evils of the world, and the importance of teaching the way a child should go from an early age. In today’s world, society teaches that truth is relative and anything goes. That’s why it’s more critical than ever for Christians to give their children a firm foundation in God’s Word. This means instilling biblical truths early on so that when the waves of culture or doubt crash over them, they will stand firm in their faith. Everywhere they turn, our young people are under attack. But the Word of God is the greatest protection, providing guidance, wisdom, and hope. Raising our children with an unshakable foundation in Christ ensures they ready and able to discern right from wrong, make godly choices, and hold fast to their faith, no matter the pressures they face. And that’s not just wise parenting, it’s a spiritual investment in their future. One that will bear fruit for generations to come.

  1. How can we be intentional in teaching our children or those we mentor to walk in the ways of the Lord, ensuring they are grounded in biblical truth?

Week 1 – Wisdom In Relationships (Proverbs 13:20)

When we were young, our parents often warned us about the company we kept. They would recite the old saying, “If you lay down with dogs, you’ll get fleas.” In Proverbs 13:20, Solomon echoes this wisdom. He teaches that those who walk with the wise grow wise. But those who associate with fools suffer harm. He tells us that living with such wisdom brings peace and blessings. And reminds us that this wisdom isn’t only about avoiding negative influences. It’s also about seeking out those who will walk beside us in faith, sharpening one another in God’s truth and love. The people we surround ourselves with have a powerful influence on our choices and character. When we choose friends who live according to God’s Word, we develop relationships built on mutual respect, love, and accountability. True friendships that encourage us to make wise decisions, helping us avoid the pitfalls of regret and poor judgment. And walking together in Jesus, these friendships allow us to uplift each other in our spiritual journeys.

Romans 7:24-25

Sometimes no matter how hard we try, we find ourselves doing the wrong thing. Paul knew this struggle well, always feeling torn between his desire to do good and the pull of sin. Freedom in Christ means we are liberated from the power of sin, but it does not necessarily remove the desire to sin. This ongoing battle highlights our need for the fruit of the Spirit, which cultivates virtues like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control within us. Through the Holy Spirit, we gain strength to resist sinful desires and make choices that honor God. Paul’s acknowledgment of his struggle and gratitude for Christ’s deliverance reminds us that we are not alone in our battles. By relying on the Holy Spirit, we can navigate this conflict, allowing God’s transformative power to work within us. As we grow in spiritual maturity, the fruit of the Spirit helps us to align our actions with our new identity in Christ, continually moving toward a life that reflects His love and righteousness.

By following His commands we align our lives with His will, allowing His principles to guide our decisions and behaviors. This obedience is not burdensome but a joyful expression of our devotion and gratitude for His sacrificial love. It also serves as a testament to others, showing the transformative power of a life lived in Christ. When we obey Jesus we grow in our relationship with Him, experiencing a deeper connection and intimacy. Our obedience is a tangible way to honor Him, reflecting His love to the world. And this obedience demonstrates our commitment to living a life that mirrors Jesus’ character, making the Fruit of the Spirit a visible testimony of our faith.

Proverbs 16:1

“The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.”

We’ve all heard the expression, “Man plans and God laughs.” But although a funny way to describe the unpredictability of life, it’s hardly the truth. Because nowhere in the Bible does God tells us not to plan ahead. In fact it would be rather foolish to live life by the seat of our pants. And if He didn’t want us to make plans, God wouldn’t have given us the gift of free will to make choices and decisions for ourselves. A free will which allows us to take responsibility for our actions, learn from our experiences, and grow on our spiritual journey. Our Father understands that we each have our own intentions and desires. But for our good, it’s essential to surrender them to the wisdom and will of the Lord. To be open to His guidance, and trust in the path He chooses. For He knows us better than we know ourselves, loves us beyond measure, and wants only the best for our lives. And in Jeremiah 29:11 God gives us His beautiful promise that the wonderful plans He has for us include, “a future and a hope.”

James 4:4

The Bible tells us that the Christian walk is made up of two paths. Daily we must make the choice of either following the path of godly living or the path of worldly living. For as James reminds us, we can’t walk with God and hold hands with the devil. We live in a society which encourages us to live for our individual glory. It tells us that it’s not wrong to pursue a life dedicated to pleasing the lust of the flesh. We are fed lies that say we are god in our lives and it is us who deserves worship. And if we don’t agree with the sinful and destructive ways of the world, we are laughed at, ridiculed, and in some parts of the world even tortured and killed. So how do we stand strong against the pressure from the world? “Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will resist you.” (James 4:7) The enemy loves nothing more than to see God’s people weak both in mind and spirit. But we can withstand whatever he throws our way by submitting ourselves to the Lord and walking hand in hand with Him.

Psalm 106:6

Comedian Flip Wilson was famous for always using the phrase, “The Devil made me do it!” And he isn’t the first. After eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, Eve too tried to lay the blame squarely at the feet of Satan. But that excuse didn’t work for her, and it won’t work for us either. Now that’s not to say the Devil isn’t responsible for tempting us to disobey God. But we alone are ultimately responsible for the choices we make. And there will be times God allows us to face the consequences of our disobedience. But when we come before Him in true sorrow for our sins, our Father will never turn us away. For the Lord generously gives us the blessing of His forgiveness and restoration to those who acknowledge their disobedience, repent from their wickedness and seek His forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ.
