November 28th – 1 Chronicles 16:34

1 Chronicles 16:34

A grateful heart is more than a warm and fuzzy feeling. It’s a gift from God that even science can’t ignore. Studies show that people who practice gratitude sleep better, stress less, and experience deeper joy. But long before research confirmed it, God was already inviting us into this way of living. He knew that thankfulness doesn’t just shift our mood. Gratitude strengthens our faith, softens our hearts, and reminds us of God’s steady goodness. It helps us see His fingerprints in our ordinary days, turning simple moments into reasons to praise. And it lifts our eyes from what’s missing to what’s already overflowing. When we choose to give thanks, even in the middle of hard seasons, something inside us begins to heal. God’s goodness isn’t fleeting or fragile. It doesn’t depend on how we feel or what we’re facing. His love holds steady, day after day, blessing after blessing. And a thankful heart lets us experience that truth more fully. One grateful breath at a time.

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, help me slow down and notice Your goodness today. Teach me to practice gratitude not just with my words, but with my heart. Show me one blessing I’ve overlooked and help me thank You for it with sincerity and joy.

July 7th – 1 Chronicles 12:40

1 Chronicles 12:40

God knows the plans He has for us. Wonderful, glorious plans. And just like He did with David, God He will send us helpers to see those plans done. People to strengthen, support, challenge, guide, protect, encourage, and love us. From Jonathon, the son of David’s greatest enemy, to men who would eagerly give their lives for their king, God provided mighty friends to help David fulfill what the Lord intended. And we can rejoice because He’ll do the same for us. Life can be hard, and at times lonely. But God never intends our spiritual walk to be one of solitude. We were created for fellowship with both Him and others. As such, we all need the love and support of godly friends. And if we let Him, God promises to place in our lives the people we need to accomplish the marvelous purpose He has for each of us.

2 Chronicles 15:7

Do you every find yourself saying, “I wish”? “I wish I was skinnier. I wish I was richer. I wish I had a better job. I wish, I wish, I wish.” Sitting around hoping God will make something happen is much easier than actually doing the work ourselves. But that’s not how God operates. He wants us partnering with Him to make things happen. That means we have to do our part. And our part includes praying, listening, and obeying. When we work hand in hand with God, not only does and give us the courage and strength to reach our goals, He promises great blesses for the work we accomplish!

I Chronicles 16:34

What does it mean that God is good? It means that He is as pure as light in which no evil can be found. It means He always does what is right. And it means that He is honest, faithful, and true; even when we are not. Oh how very thankful I am that God is good. For it is from that goodness which flows His never ending perfect love. A love He freely offers to all, a love unmerited, and a love that blows all others away. For so strong is God’s love for us, He gave His only Son to redeem us. And that is everything to be thankful for.
