Colossians 2:6–7

When we think about a strong, tree, we often admire its height, its sturdy trunk, and its beautiful branches. But the real strength of the tree lies beneath the surface. It’s in the roots that run deep, anchoring it firmly through wind, rain, drought, and every storm it faces. Without deep roots, even the healthiest looking tree will eventually fall.

The same is true in our walk with Christ. God never intended for our faith to be shallow or dependent upon our circumstances. He desires that we become deeply rooted in Jesus. Because the deeper our roots grow, the stronger our faith becomes. We may still face trials, disappointments, and seasons of uncertainty, but we won’t be easily shaken because our foundation is Christ Himself.

But being rooted in Christ doesn’t happen overnight. Just as a tree slowly extends its roots deeper into the soil, our spiritual roots grow as we spend time in God’s Word, seek Him in prayer, worship Him faithfully, and choose obedience day after day. Every moment spent with the Lord strengthens us.

So if today you feel weak, discouraged, or spiritually dry. Take heart. Healthy roots aren’t formed in a single day, but through a lifetime of faithfully remaining close to Jesus. Every prayer you pray, every verse you meditate on, every act of obedience, and every moment you trust Him is sending your roots deeper into His unfailing love.

July 6th – Psalm 118:24

Psalm 118:24

Some days are harder than others. There are mornings when we wake up already carrying yesterday’s worries, and there are days that don’t go anything like we hoped they would. Life has a way of reminding us that not every day is easy, and not every day feels like a good one.

But Psalm 118:24 gently tells us that every day is still a gift from God. The fact that we opened our eyes this morning is evidence of His mercy. Every sunrise is another opportunity to start over, to leave yesterday behind, to make things right, to grow in our faith, and to become a little more like Christ.

I’m so thankful that God doesn’t expect perfection from me. He simply invites me to keep walking with Him. His mercies are new every morning, and His grace is always enough for whatever this day may bring.

We may not be able to choose our circumstances, but we can choose how we respond to them. We can choose gratitude instead of complaining, hope instead of discouragement, and trust instead of fear. Some days those choices are easier than others, but God faithfully walks beside us through them all.

So today, whether this day brings joy or challenges, thank God for the gift of another beginning. Every new day is another chance to get it right, another chance to love well, and another chance to experience His goodness and mercy. And that alone is reason to rejoice.

John 8:36

Dwight L. Moody once said, “If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you are free.” Throughout the month of July, we celebrate freedom as a nation. It’s a time to reflect on how precious freedom really is and to appreciate the many blessings we enjoy. But for me, that celebration isn’t complete without thinking about the greatest freedom I’ve ever been given. And that’s the freedom that comes through Jesus Christ.


Jesus didn’t simply come to make our lives a little better. He came to set us free. Free from the guilt of our past. Free from the power of sin. And free from shame, fear, and condemnation. He willingly laid down His life on the Cross so we could experience a freedom that nothing in this world can ever offer.

The freedoms we enjoy in this life are wonderful, but they can change with time. The freedom Jesus gives is different. It isn’t based on circumstances, governments, or anything this world can control. It is eternal. No one can take it away because it was purchased by the blood of Christ.

That truth gives me so much hope. No matter what happens around me, I know who I belong to. My heart has been set free, my sins have been forgiven, and my future is secure in Him.

As we celebrate freedom this month, let’s remember the freedom that matters most. The precious freedom Jesus died to give us. It is the greatest gift we will ever receive, and it is ours forever.

Habakuk 3:17-18

There ‘s no denying that these are difficult times. Every trip to the grocery store seems to cost more than the last. Gas prices, utility bills, and everyday expenses continue to rise. And many families are feeling the weight of it all. It’s easy to become discouraged when we’re constantly worrying about how everything will get paid for.

Yet Habakkuk paints a powerful picture of faith. He speaks of empty fields, failed crops, and a season of lack, but then he makes an incredible declaration. “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” His joy wasn’t based on what he had. It was based on who God is.

Whether we’re living in a season of plenty or a season of struggle, there is always something to be grateful for. God’s goodness doesn’t change with our circumstances. His faithfulness isn’t measured by how much we have in our bank account. He’s still providing, sustaining, and walking beside us through every challenge.

Above all else, we have the greatest gift anyone could ever receive. And that’s our precious Savior, Jesus Christ. Money can disappear. Possessions wear out. Circumstances change. But the love of Christ, the hope of our salvation, and the promise of eternal life can never be taken away. And that deserves great rejoicing!

If life feels heavy today, lift your eyes above your circumstances and fix them on Jesus. He is still worthy of our praise in times of feast and in times of famine. When everything else feels uncertain, He remains our unchanging hope.

We live in a world that promises peace in all the wrong places. It tells us we’ll find it in money, success, relationships, possessions, entertainment, or having everything go according to plan. Yet even when people have all those things, many are still searching for something more. That’s because the peace our hearts long for can’t be found in anything this world has to offer.

Jesus offers a different kind of peace. A unshakable peace that isn’t dependent on circumstances. It’s the peace that comes from knowing our sins are forgiven, our future is secure, and our lives are held in the hands of a loving Savior. The world can offer temporary distractions, but only Christ can calm a troubled heart. When life feels uncertain, we don’t have to be overwhelmed by fear or anxiety. We can rest in the presence of the One who is greater than every problem we face.

True peace isn’t found by looking around us; it’s found by looking to Jesus. The closer we walk with Him, the more we discover that the very thing we’ve been searching for has been found in Him all along!

Ecclesiastes 3:11

Waiting is hard. We want answers now, prayers answered now, and doors opened now. We often look at our circumstances and wonder why God hasn’t moved yet. But Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us that God sees what we cannot. While we focus on the moment, He sees the entire picture. He knows when a season needs to end, when a new one should begin, and when our hearts are ready for what He has planned.

In today’s world, we’re used to getting things instantly. We can order groceries, send messages, and find answers with the click of a button. Yet God’s timing doesn’t operate on our schedule. Sometimes He asks us to wait, not because He has forgotten us, but because He is working behind the scenes in ways we cannot see. He may be preparing circumstances, growing our faith, teaching us patience, or protecting us from something we don’t yet understand.

The beautiful truth is that God never wastes a season. Even the waiting has purpose. One day, we may look back and realize that what felt like a delay was actually God’s loving hand guiding us toward something better than we could have planned ourselves. Until then, we can trust that the One who makes all things beautiful is still working, even when we cannot yet see the finished masterpiece.

Psalm 16:11

The other morning, I went for a walk as the morning sun was just began shining on the horizon. It was just me, the quiet world, and the soft glow of a new day waking up around me. The path was familiar, yet every time I walk it, I feel a gentle pull toward peace, as if God Himself is guiding each step. That’s what Psalm 16:11 promises us: “You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy.” Even when life feels uncertain, when we don’t know what the next turn will hold, God doesn’t leave us guessing or walking alone. He leads us, not into confusion, but into life. A real, abundant, joy-filled life found in His presence. The world offers temporary pleasures, but His joy is lasting. It fills the empty places, calms anxious hearts, and strengthens weary souls. When we learn to walk His path instead of our own, we discover peace that doesn’t depend on circumstances and joy the world can’t steal. Today, may we slow down, listen for His leading, and choose the path that draws us closer to His heart, because that is where the fullness of life is found.

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, show me the path You have prepared for me today. Help me walk closely with You and find fullness of joy in Your presence.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Life is full of seasons. Some overflow with joy, love, and abundance, while others bring loss, uncertainty, and heartache. There are seasons when laughter is easy and blessings seem to flow effortlessly. But there are also seasons when doors close, prayers seem unanswered, and the future feels unclear. Yet through it all, God is faithful. He is the One who never changes, no matter how much our circumstances do.

When we walk through seasons of waiting, He is working. When we face heartbreak, He is healing. When we step into something new, He is leading. Even when we don’t understand the “why” behind a difficult season, we can trust that God sees the bigger picture. He is not just present in our seasons, He is the One who holds them. Every moment, every change, every new beginning, and every ending is in His hands. And because He is sovereign, we can walk through every season with confidence, knowing that His timing is perfect, His plans are good, and He is always, always faithful.

Romans 8:28

When life falls apart, it’s hard to believe that anything good can come from the pain. The storm feels endless, the heartbreak unbearable, and the uncertainty overwhelming. Maybe you’re wondering why this is happening, questioning if God sees your suffering or if He even cares. It’s in these moments, when everything feels out of control, that trusting Him becomes the hardest and the most important. God never promised a life without trials, but He does promise that nothing we go through is wasted.

Every tear, every setback, every unanswered question is being woven into a greater story. He is working behind the scenes, taking even the hardest moments and turning them into something beautiful. That doesn’t mean we won’t struggle or wonder why, but it does mean we can lean into the truth that God is good, even when life is not. The storm will pass, but what God builds in us through it will remain. Strength. Faith. A deeper trust in Him. One day, we’ll look back and see how He was working all along, even in the moments we thought He was silent. So even now, in the middle of the storm, hold on. Keep trusting. He is not finished with your story yet.

Week 5 – Strength In God (Psalm 28:7)

No matter what circumstances we find ourselves in, we can always find a reason to rejoice. Life may throw challenges our way, but we can take comfort in the truth of Psalm 28:7: “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.” This verse reminds us that we never face anything alone. God is always by our side, offering His strength to sustain us and His protection to shield us from harm. Even in the darkest times, our hearts can sing with joy because we know that God is with us, guiding us through every problem and giving us the courage to keep moving forward. His presence is a constant source of comfort and peace, allowing us to face each day with hope. As we trust in Him, we find that our burdens are lighter, and our spirits are lifted, for we are not walking through life’s challenges on our own. With God as our strength and shield, we can face anything with confidence, knowing that He is helping us every step of the way.

Questions For Reflection –

  1. How can we cultivate a habit of trusting God as our strength and shield, especially during challenging times when we feel overwhelmed or afraid?
