Easter

April 5th – Mark 4:39

Mark 4:39

The wind howled, the waves crashed, and fear gripped the hearts of the disciples until Jesus spoke. “Peace, be still.” And just like that, the storm surrendered. In Mark 4:39, we see the power of Jesus not just over the wind and sea, but over every storm we face. This Easter, we remember the One who calmed the sea with a word and conquered death with His resurrection. The tomb is empty, and that same power that stilled the storm now lives in us. So whatever fear is swirling in your heart, grief, anxiety, or doubt, know this. Jesus still speaks peace. He still calms chaos. And because He lives, we are never alone in the storm. Easter is our reminder that darkness doesn’t win, fear doesn’t rule, and death doesn’t get the final say. The risen Savior walks with us, speaks to our hearts, and covers us with a peace that silences every fear. So let your soul rest in Him today. He is still Lord of the storm.

April 3rd – John 1:29

John 1:29

Could you imagine standing in that crowd, hearing John announce the arrival of Jesus? Christ wasn’t just another teacher or prophet. He was the sacrifice, the fulfillment of every promise, and the answer to every longing. From the moment sin entered the world, we were separated from God, lost and unable to save ourselves. But God, in His great mercy, sent Jesus the perfect Lamb, to take our place. On the Cross, He bore our shame, our guilt, and our punishment. And when He declared, “It is finished,” the weight of our sin was lifted forever. Easter is more than a holiday. It’s our rescue story. It’s the reminder that we don’t have to carry our past, failures, or our burdens anymore. The Lamb of God has already taken them. Because of Jesus, grace wins. Because of Jesus, we are free. This Easter, let’s stand in awe of the One who gave everything to bring us back to God. Thank You, Jesus, for being the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world, including mine.

April 2nd – John 1:14

John 1:14

The miracle of Easter didn’t begin at the empty tomb. It began when God Himself stepped into our world. Because of His great love, Jesus chose to walk among us, feel our pain, experience our struggles, and love us up close. He isn’t a distant Savior. He’s present, real, and near. And Easter is the beautiful reminder that God came for us. Not because we deserved it, but because His love wouldn’t leave us lost in our sin.

When Jesus took the Cross, He carried our shame, failures, and every burden we couldn’t bear. He took it all so that we could know freedom. And when He rose, He shattered every chain that tried to hold us down. The tomb is empty, and that changes everything. No matter how broken we feel, Jesus meets us in our mess. Just as He did when He walked this earth. Because of Easter, we are no longer defined by sin, but by grace. We are no longer bound by death, but alive in His victory. Today, let’s hold on to this truth. We are loved beyond measure, redeemed beyond reason, and free because of Jesus.

April 1st – Genesis 3:15

Genesis 3:15

From the very beginning, when sin first entered the world, God had a plan. In the Garden of Eden, as darkness crept in through Adam and Eve’s disobedience, God spoke a promise. A glorious promise of redemption, a promise of victory. Genesis 3:15 is the first glimpse of Easter, the first whisper of the Cross. Though sin brought separation, God refused to leave us in our brokenness. He declared that one day, the enemy would be crushed. And that day came when Jesus stepped into our world. On the Cross, He bore the weight of our sin, fulfilling the promise spoken in the garden.

The serpent struck His heel, but in His Resurrection, Jesus crushed the enemy forever. Easter is the fulfillment of that beautiful promise. The victory of love over sin, light over darkness, and life over death. Because of Jesus, we are no longer captives to sin. Because of Jesus, we have the hope of eternity. Thank You, Lord, for Your love that never gave up on us. Thank You for writing redemption into our story from the very beginning. Your plan is perfect, and Your grace is beyond measure.

March 31st – Matthew 28:5-6

Matthew 28:5-6

Easter is the pinnacle of the Christian calendar. And it’s a celebration of profound significance and joy. Because it commemorates the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ from the dead, three days after His crucifixion. This miraculous event stands as the cornerstone of our faith. For it affirms Jesus’ victory over sin and death and offers the promise of eternal life to all who believe. Easter heralds the dawn of hope and redemption, as the empty tomb bears witness to the power of God’s love and the fulfillment of His promises. It’s a time of great rejoicing, as we gather to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and life over death. Easter calls us to reflect on the depths of God’s grace and mercy, as manifested through Jesus’ sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection. March 30th – Matthew 27:65

Matthew 27:65

The chief priests and Pharisees were consumed by fear and uncertainty, so they seek to prevent the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy by securing His tomb. This act symbolizes the solemnity and uncertainty of Silent Saturday, the day between the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Despite their efforts to restrain and control the situation, the power of God’s will remained unshakeable and unstoppable. Silent Saturday serves as a poignant reminder that even in the darkest moments of our lives, when it seems as though all hope is lost and the forces of fear and doubt hold sway, God’s purposes continue to unfold according to His divine plan. Like the sealed tomb, our lives may be constrained by circumstances, doubts, and fears, but nothing can thwart the ultimate victory of God’s will. In the silence of Holy Saturday, we are invited to trust in God’s faithfulness and sovereignty, even when we cannot see the way forward. It is a time of waiting and preparation, as we anticipate the dawn of Easter Sunday, when the power of God’s love and resurrection will triumph over darkness and death.

March 29th – Mark 9:31

Mark 9:31

Good Friday is a day of profound bittersweetness. On one hand it marks the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, a moment of immense sorrow and pain as the Son of God suffers the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. The brutality and injustice of the crucifixion evoke deep emotions of grief and anguish, as we contemplate the magnitude of Jesus’ suffering and the weight of our own sins. Yet, amid the darkness and despair of Good Friday, there is also a glimmer of hope. Because it’s through Jesus’ sacrificial death that redemption and salvation are made possible. The bitter agony of the cross is intertwined with the sweet promise of God’s unfailing love and grace. The sacred day reminds us that even in the midst of suffering, Jesus’ death on the cross is not the end of the story. It’s a prelude to the joyous resurrection of Easter Sunday, when death is conquered and new life begins. Good Friday is a day where sorrow and joy, death and life, are intimately intertwined, reminding us of the profound depths of God’s love and the beautiful promise of eternal redemption.

March 27th – Matthew 26:14-16

Matthew 26:14-16

Oh how it must have broken the heart of Jesus to know that He would be betrayed by one He called His very own. Judas was part of the inner circle. He ate, slept, learned, and worked at the foot of the Master. Yet swayed by greed and disillusionment, Judas consented to betray Jesus to the religious authorities for a mere thirty pieces of silver. His actions, motivated by self-interest and a lack of faith, serve as a sobering reminder of the frailty of human nature. In betraying Jesus, Judas threw away the bonds of friendship and loyalty, giving in to the lure of material gain. In Judas’ betrayal, we find echoes of our own sin. Because each day, through our actions, words, and thoughts, we too betray Jesus. Whether through acts of dishonesty, selfishness, or disobedience, we contribute to the weight of sin that led Jesus to the cross. Yet, amidst our failings, there is hope. For just as Jesus extended grace and forgiveness to Judas, He offers redemption to all who turn to Him in repentance. That is the amazing grace of Jesus Christ.

March 25th – Mark 11:12-14

Mark 11:12-14

As we approach the celebration of Resurrection Day, many are the lessons we can learn from Jesus during this most Holy Week. The accounts of Jesus cursing the fig tree and overturning the money-changing tables at the temple, both share a common theme of confronting hypocrisy and spiritual emptiness. In both instances, Jesus reacts strongly against outward displays of religiosity that lack genuine substance. The fig tree, though appearing healthy from afar, bore no fruit, symbolizing the barrenness of a faith lacking true righteousness. Similarly, the money-changing tables in the temple represented a corruption of worship, where greed and deception took precedence over genuine reverence for God. Jesus’ actions in both cases serve as a powerful rebuke against a superficial faith, and a call to authentic devotion and spiritual integrity. They remind us that God what values most of all, is a sincere heart and genuine worship above mere outward appearances.
