Faith

July 24th – Micah 7:7

Micah 7:7

We are living in a time when moral decay, rising wickedness, and violence seem to be growing all around us. Everywhere we look, we see a world that appears to be moving further away from God and further away from the truth of His Word. Values that were once considered right are now called wrong, and what God calls sinful is often celebrated. Violence fills the news, families are hurting, hearts are growing cold, and many people are living without any desire for God.

It can be discouraging to watch. At times, it may even feel as though darkness is winning. But Micah gives us a powerful response to living in difficult times. He says, “But as for me, I watch in hope for God my Savior; I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.”

What a beautiful declaration of faith. Micah didn’t place his hope in the world getting better. He placed his hope in God. And that is where our hope must be found too. As we see the return of Jesus drawing closer, we don’t have to live in fear, panic, or despair. We can look up with expectation, knowing that our Savior is coming again.

Until that glorious day comes, we can trust that God is still with us. He sees the wickedness around us. He sees the suffering, the injustice, and the pain. And He hears every prayer we lift to Him. No prayer is wasted, and no cry goes unnoticed by our Heavenly Father.

So while we wait for Jesus, let us remain faithful. Let us continue praying, standing firm in God’s truth, loving others, and sharing the light of Christ with a world that desperately needs Him. The darkness may grow, but it will never overcome the light of Jesus. Our Savior is coming. Until then, we wait in hope, we pray in faith, and we trust in the God who hears us.

July 21st – Ephesians 3:12

Ephesians 3:12

One of the most beautiful gifts we have as believers is the privilege of calling God our Abba Father. He’s not a distant God who wants us to approach Him only when we have everything figured out or when our lives are perfectly put together. He loves us deeply and invites us to come to Him with everything we carry. Our greatest burdens, deepest fears, biggest decisions, and even the small things that may seem insignificant to everyone else.

As a loving Father, God cares about the details of our lives. He wants to hear about the things that bring us joy, the things that break our hearts, the questions we don’t know how to answer, and the fears we may be afraid to share with anyone else. Nothing is too big for Him, and nothing is too small to bring before Him.

Because of Jesus, we don’t have to approach God with fear or hesitation. Through our Savior, we have boldness and confident access to the Father. We can come freely, knowing we are welcomed, heard, and loved. And not because we are perfect, but because Jesus made a way for us.

What a precious gift it is to know that the Creator of the universe invites us into His presence. So bring Him everything. Talk to Him about everything. Run to your Abba Father with confidence, knowing that through Jesus, the way to Him has been opened, and His arms are always ready to receive His children.

July 16th – Hebrews 12:6

Hebrews 12:6

No one enjoys being disciplined. As children, we dreaded punishment because it felt painful and unfair. Even as adults, correction can be difficult to accept. We naturally resist anything that exposes our weaknesses or calls us to change.

But God’s discipline is very different from the world’s punishment. It isn’t driven by anger or rejection. Instead, it flows from His perfect love. A loving father corrects the children who belong to him because he wants what is best for them. In the same way, our Heavenly Father disciplines us to shape our character, strengthen our faith, and draw us closer to Himself.

When God corrects us, it isn’t a sign that He has turned away from us. It’s a reminder that we are His. He loves us too much to leave us where we are. His discipline may be uncomfortable for a season, but it always has a purpose. And that is to make us more like Christ.

So instead of becoming discouraged when God lovingly corrects us, we can rejoice. His discipline is evidence that we belong to Him, that He is actively working in our lives, and that He is preparing us for something greater. What a comfort it is to know that we are dearly loved by our Heavenly Father.

July 15th – Matthew 12:30

Matthew 12:30

Jesus reminds us that there is no middle ground when it comes to following Him. We can’t divide our hearts between God and the world. He calls us to love Him completely with our thoughts, our words, our choices, and our lives.

Loving God completely doesn’t mean we’ll never stumble or make mistakes. It means He becomes the greatest desire of our hearts. We begin to care more about pleasing Him than pleasing people. We choose His truth over the world’s opinions, His ways over our own, and His will over our comfort.

When we truly love God, it changes how we live. It affects how we speak to others, how we forgive, how we spend our time, and how we respond when life becomes difficult. Our faith is no longer something we practice only on Sundays, it becomes the foundation of everything we do.

None of us loves God perfectly, but every day we have another opportunity to grow closer to Him. As we spend time in His Word, talk with Him in prayer, and walk in obedience, our love for Him deepens. May our lives reflect hearts that are fully devoted to the One who first loved us.

July 6th – Psalm 118:24

Psalm 118:24

Some days are harder than others. There are mornings when we wake up already carrying yesterday’s worries, and there are days that don’t go anything like we hoped they would. Life has a way of reminding us that not every day is easy, and not every day feels like a good one.

But Psalm 118:24 gently tells us that every day is still a gift from God. The fact that we opened our eyes this morning is evidence of His mercy. Every sunrise is another opportunity to start over, to leave yesterday behind, to make things right, to grow in our faith, and to become a little more like Christ.

I’m so thankful that God doesn’t expect perfection from me. He simply invites me to keep walking with Him. His mercies are new every morning, and His grace is always enough for whatever this day may bring.

We may not be able to choose our circumstances, but we can choose how we respond to them. We can choose gratitude instead of complaining, hope instead of discouragement, and trust instead of fear. Some days those choices are easier than others, but God faithfully walks beside us through them all.

So today, whether this day brings joy or challenges, thank God for the gift of another beginning. Every new day is another chance to get it right, another chance to love well, and another chance to experience His goodness and mercy. And that alone is reason to rejoice.

July 4th – 1 Timothy 2:16

1 Timothy 2:16

This Fourth of July feels especially meaningful as our nation celebrates America’s 250th birthday. For 250 years, we’ve enjoyed many freedoms that countless people around the world can only dream of. It’s a time to celebrate, to reflect, and to be thankful for the blessings we’ve been given.

But as Christians, freedom carries a deeper meaning. In 1 Peter 2:16, we’re reminded that our freedom isn’t meant to be used however we please. Instead, it’s an opportunity to live in a way that honors God and serves others.

The greatest freedom I’ve ever known isn’t found in a document or a government. It’s the freedom Jesus purchased when He gave His life for me. He set me free from the power of sin, from guilt, from shame, and from the burden of trying to earn God’s love. That freedom changes everything.

As we celebrate America’s birthday, may we also remember that true freedom isn’t just about our rights. Instead, it’s about how we choose to live. May we use the freedoms God has given us to love well, serve faithfully, speak kindly, and point others to Christ.

Today, let’s celebrate with grateful hearts, thanking God for our country while never forgetting the greater freedom we have in Jesus. May our lives reflect both gratitude for the blessings we’ve received and a commitment to honor the One who gave us the greatest gift of all. Happy Fourth of July!

June 29th – Hebrews 12:1

Hebrews 12:1

Life has a way of weighing us down. We carry worry about our families, regret over past mistakes, fear about the future, and sometimes even the opinions of people we’ll never be able to please. Before long, we’re exhausted. And not because life is impossible, but because we’re carrying things God never asked us to carry.

Hebrews 12:1 tells us to “lay aside every weight.” I don’t think that’s just talking about obvious sins. Sometimes the heaviest burdens are worry, bitterness, guilt, comparison, or trying to control things that only God can control. Those things drain our joy and keep us from moving forward.

I’ve had seasons where I made life harder than it needed to be because I held onto things God was asking me to surrender. The moment I finally placed them in His hands, I realized how much lighter my heart became.

Following Jesus isn’t about sprinting through life. It’s about faithfully taking one step after another, trusting Him with today’s burdens and tomorrow’s uncertainties. We don’t have to carry the whole journey at once. We only have to keep walking with the One who promises to walk beside us.

So today, ask yourself. “What am I carrying that God wants me to leave with Him?” You were never meant to carry those burdens alone. Let them go, fix your eyes on Jesus, and keep moving forward. He’ll give you the strength for every step.

June 28th – Habakuk 3:1718

Habakuk 3:17-18

There ‘s no denying that these are difficult times. Every trip to the grocery store seems to cost more than the last. Gas prices, utility bills, and everyday expenses continue to rise. And many families are feeling the weight of it all. It’s easy to become discouraged when we’re constantly worrying about how everything will get paid for.

Yet Habakkuk paints a powerful picture of faith. He speaks of empty fields, failed crops, and a season of lack, but then he makes an incredible declaration. “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” His joy wasn’t based on what he had. It was based on who God is.

Whether we’re living in a season of plenty or a season of struggle, there is always something to be grateful for. God’s goodness doesn’t change with our circumstances. His faithfulness isn’t measured by how much we have in our bank account. He’s still providing, sustaining, and walking beside us through every challenge.

Above all else, we have the greatest gift anyone could ever receive. And that’s our precious Savior, Jesus Christ. Money can disappear. Possessions wear out. Circumstances change. But the love of Christ, the hope of our salvation, and the promise of eternal life can never be taken away. And that deserves great rejoicing!

If life feels heavy today, lift your eyes above your circumstances and fix them on Jesus. He is still worthy of our praise in times of feast and in times of famine. When everything else feels uncertain, He remains our unchanging hope.

June 26th – Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11

If you’re anything like me, you’re a list maker and a planner. I map out my future, set goals, and imagine how I think life should happen. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life rarely goes according to my plan. Doors close, unexpected hardships come, and sometimes the path ahead looks nothing like the one I had carefully planned.

Yet while my plans often change, God’s never do. He sees the beginning from the end. He knows every twist, every detour, every disappointment, and every blessing long before we do. Nothing catches Him by surprise.

There have been times when I was disappointed because something I wanted didn’t work out. Looking back now, I can see God’s hand protecting me, redirecting me, and leading me to something far better than I could have imagined. At the time I couldn’t understand it, but now I’m grateful He didn’t answer every prayer the way I wanted.

Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God isn’t making up His plan as He goes. He already has one. His plans are filled with hope, purpose, and His perfect love for us. They may not always be easy, and they may not always happen on our timetable, but they are always good because they come from a good Father.

So if life hasn’t turned out the way you expected, don’t lose heart. Trust the One who holds your future. His plan has never failed, and it never will. One day you’ll look back and realize that what felt like a detour was actually God leading you exactly where you needed to be. To trust Him, because His plans are always better than anything we could have hoped for ourselves!

June 21st – Proverbs 22:6

Proverbs 22:6

On Father’s Day, we celebrate the incredible influence fathers have in the lives of their children. The world often measures success by careers, accomplishments, and possessions, but God reminds us that one of a father’s greatest callings is to lead his children toward Him.

The lessons children learn at home often stay with them for a lifetime. A father who prays with his children, teaches them God’s Word, lives out his faith, and points them to Jesus is planting seeds that can bear fruit for generations to come.

No father is perfect, and every dad has moments he wishes he could do over. Yet God does not call fathers to perfection. He calls them to faithfulness. The simple acts of loving, teaching, encouraging, correcting, and modeling a life devoted to Christ leave an impact far greater than most fathers will ever know.

Today, we honor the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and spiritual fathers who have faithfully invested in the next generation. Thank you for the prayers you’ve prayed, the sacrifices you’ve made, and the godly example you’ve set.

Your influence matters, and the seeds you plant today may continue growing long after you are gone. May God bless and strengthen every father as he seeks to leave a legacy that points others to Christ.
