False Gospel

July 6th – John 8:32

John 8:32

The truth of God’s Word is a powerful force that liberates us from the deception and lies of the Enemy. When we immerse ourselves in Scripture, we discover God’s character, promises, and the identity He gives us. This divine truth acts as a light that exposes deceit, false teachers, and wrong gospels. It helps us to recognize and reject the Enemy’s deceitful tactics designed to lead us away from the Lord. Lies about our worth, purpose, and God’s love are torn down by the truth of Scripture, which affirms our value, directs our path, and reassures us of God’s unwavering love. By embracing and living according to this truth, we break free from the chains of fear, doubt, and confusion that Satan seeks to impose. Instead when we are deeply anchored to God’s promises, we experience clarity, peace, and freedom that come from a life grounded in truth. This freedom empowers us to resist temptation, make godly decisions, and stand firm in our faith, ultimately leading to a life that reflects the liberating power of God’s truth.

August 27th – Colossians 4:4

Colossians 4:4

Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.

It’s a big responsibility to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul knew that false teachers were making the rounds using trickery and deception to confuse young believers about the scriptures. So the apostle asked for prayers that his sharing of the Good News be done correctly and clearly. Because never should the Word of God be twisted into the meaning we want. Instead all Christians should follow the rule that when the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense, lest it result in nonsense. That’s why Christians should pray for all fellow Christians. For we we all commanded to share the gospel. And praying for each others reminds us that as believers we are divinely connected. And prompts to uplift one another in our individual callings. It’s a powerful reminder that our unity in Christ extends beyond physical boundaries and allows us to participate in the global mission of spreading God’s love and truth to all corners of the world.

July 11th – Proverbs 30:6

Proverbs 30:6

Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.”

As the days get closer to the Lord’s return, Jesus warns about the increase of false teachers. (Matt. 24:24) Whether it’s an ear tickling gospel, a prosperity gospel, or a works based gospel, if it doesn’t line up with God’s gospel, it is a false gospel. These false gospels keep us chained to rules and laws. And feed us lies that there are many roads to God. False gospels tell us that through our own efforts we can earn everlasting life. The consequences of heeding these false teachings can be severe. Because they can lead to spiritual confusion, moral compromise, and a departure from the true path of faith. To protect ourselves from the influence of these wolves in sheep’s clothing, we must diligently study the Bible, seeking to understand its context, message, and teachings. By grounding ourselves in God’s Word and relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can navigate through the deceitful tactics of false teachers and remain firmly rooted in the unchanging truth of God’s Word.

November 26th – Galatians 1:8

Galatians 1:8

I am thankful for the true Gospel of Jesus Christ

The adding and taking away from God’s Word is pretty serious business. So serious Paul doesn’t just tell us to stay away from those who teach a distorted gospel, he calls for a curse upon them. As fallen people with fallen hearts, we cannot fathom such a pure, perfect, and unconditional love as is God’s love. A love whose height knows no limits, and whose depth knows no end. And most wonderful of all a love not earned, but offered freely to everyone who receives Jesus as their Savior. That’s why in our human frailty people twist and turn the gospel to fit their narrative. But the true Good News is this. Once we were dead in sin, separated from our Father in heaven. But through the grace of God and the blood of His only begotten Son, we can be reconciled back to our Father in heaven forever.  Jesus Christ is the only means of salvation. This is unmerited grace. This is unmerited love. And this is the one and only true gospel!
