We’ve all heard the old adage that it’s better to give than receive. Why? Because that’s when we truly exemplify the very nature of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It was the Lord Himself who said, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” There could never be a greater gift than the one Jesus gave to us. Out of hearts of gratitude we should pay forward the love, grace, and mercy He shows us daily. And when we bless others, we in turn are the ones who receive the blessing from God! (Prov. 19:17)

1 Chronicles 29:14

Every good thing we have in our lives is a gift from God. And He blesses us not because we are special or worthy, but because He is our loving Father who gives to His children freely and generously. And out of a heart of thankfulness we in turn need to be cheerful givers. For everything we give back to God was His to begin with. And remembering the Lord as the source of everything good, fills our hearts with generosity and the desire to show the same mercy to others God shows to us each and every day!
