God’s Army

May 22nd – Zechariah 14:3

Zechariah 14:3

In the quiet hush of dawn, Christ first came. He came not with the roar of a Lion but with the tender grace of a Lamb, walking amongst us in humility and love. But Zechariah’s prophecy regarding the second triumphant return of Jesus is very different. For this time He will come not as the gentle and humble Lamb, but as the fierce Lion of Judah, majestic and mighty. Oh how the anticipation swells within our hearts, knowing that we shall ride alongside Him! On white chargers, our souls ablaze with the fire of righteousness, we too will return. For we will be given the honor and privilege to be counted among the ranks of God’s mighty army. Standing firm in the face of darkness, wielding the sword of truth, we will march boldly for the Lord. So as the days grow short until the dawn of His return, let us lift our voices in joy! Because we are chosen to stand shoulder to shoulder with the King of Kings, as His faithful warriors in the battle for righteousness and redemption.

April 27th – John 15:19

John 15:19

The pull of sin is a strong one. And each day is a fight to remain in Jesus and bear faithful fruit for His kingdom. To obediently live a life separate from the wickedness of the world. And to be known by that world as not one of their own. Why? Because we have been chosen by the hand of God Himself. Chosen out of this world to be soldiers in His army. As such, we are to daily put on our uniform of the armor of God, ready to do battle. (Eph. 6:10-18) Yet Jesus warns that because we follow His ways and not the sinful ways of the world, we will hated for His sake. That’s why we shouldn’t be surprised when we face opposition or persecution because of our faith. Rather, we should consider it an honor to suffer for our Lord who suffered unto death for us. And have joyful hearts knowing that Jesus has chosen and called us out of the world, and to Him do we belong!

September 25th -1 John 5:14-15

1 John 5:14-15

We as Christians are in a battle for our very souls. The apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:12 that there is a great spiritual war waging around us even as we speak. As such, we are commanded to be courageous warriors in God’s army. Soldiers armed against the Enemy’s attacks, and at the ready with our spiritual weapons. And some of the greatest ammunition we have is prayer. Prayer is an unbreakable bond between us and God. There is no special formula, ritual, or words that have to be said. All God wants is for us to come to Him in complete and humble faith. Through the blood of Jesus Christ we have unlimited access to the Father and His throne. And He wants to hear from us! James 4:2 tells us we don’t have, because we don’t ask. So today I challenge you to ask! Go to God in prayer. Give to Him your heart and all it holds. And have unshakable faith that if it is His will, He will see it done!
