The act of intercession brings us joy because it allows us to partner with God in His work, witnessing the impact of His grace and mercy in the lives of those we pray for. Moreover, it cultivates gratitude and a positive perspective, as we see God’s faithfulness and goodness in answering prayers. This joy is not just about the outcomes but also about the process, knowing that our prayers are a powerful expression of love and support. June 3rd – Romans 5:8

Romans 5:8

Paul reveals the depth of God’s love declaring that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. This sacrificial love isn’t based on our worthiness or good deeds, but on God’s unmerited grace. The magnitude of His love is shown through Jesus’ willingness to lay down His life for us, offering salvation and reconciliation with God. From gratitude for this incredible love, we are called to extend a true Christ-like love to others. This means loving others selflessly and sacrificially, just as Jesus loves us. It challenges us to forgive, serve, and show kindness even to those who may not deserve it. By reflecting on God’s unconditional love, we find the strength and inspiration to love others beyond superficial measures. Our actions, motivated by gratitude, become a testament to the transformative power of God’s love in our lives. We become vessels of His grace, offering compassion, patience, and understanding. Honoring the love that was freely given to us, and demonstrating to the world what true, Christ-like love looks like.

June 2nd – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

If you ask people what love means, you’d get many different definitions. But the only one which is genuine and true, is the one the apostle Paul gives. He tells us love is patient and kind, not envious, boastful, or proud. Love does not dishonor others, nor is it self-seeking or easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs and does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. This teaches us that true love is enduring and resilient. It always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. Paul’s description of love serves as a guide for how we should treat others, and the importance of selflessness, humility, and forgiveness. It challenges us to be patient with those around us, showing kindness even when it’s difficult. To let go of grudges and to find joy in honesty and integrity. Love, as Paul describes it, is a commitment to the well-being of others, reflecting the love that Christ has for us. By embodying these characteristics, we not only strengthen our relationships but also bear witness to the transformative power of God’s love in our lives.

April 30th – Song of Solomon

Song of Solomon 2:12

As winter fades to spring, it leaves behind a trail of dead branches and stems which need to be pruned away for the new growth to thrive. So it is with us. Just as the gardener tends to the vines, so too must we trim away the tendrils of disobedience, sin, and unfruitfulness from our lives. The pruning may sting, but it’s the secret to a grander bloom. For pain today yields beauty tomorrow. With each intentional snip, may we remove the burdens that weigh us down, clearing the way for growth, beauty, and prosperity. And may the warmth of the sun remind us of the warmth of God’s love. A love which guides us each step of the way through the process of transformation. And one which makes our souls bloom with righteousness and purity, like spring blossoms unfurling in radiant beauty. In this season of renewal, we find the perfect opportunity to cultivate a heart aligned with God’s will. So let us embrace the pruning shears of truth and righteousness, trusting in His grace to nourish us into fruitful abundance.

Philippians 4:6-7

Nothing smells better than the sweet perfume of spring in the air! The time when all of nature gives off the aroma of renewal and growth. So like the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers, let our prayers rise before God as a pleasing aroma. One that fills the heavens with the essence of our hearts’ desires. May we bring our requests to the Lord with thanksgiving, knowing that He hears and answers according to His perfect will. And may our spirits open up like an unfurled flower, waiting to receive the blessings God bestows upon us. With hearts filled with gratitude, let us lift our voices in prayer, surrendering our worries and fears into His capable hands. For in His presence, there is peace that surpasses all understanding. A peace that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. As we abide in His love, may our prayers be a symphony of trust and hope, echoing throughout eternity. March 30th – Matthew 27:65

Matthew 27:65

The chief priests and Pharisees were consumed by fear and uncertainty, so they seek to prevent the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy by securing His tomb. This act symbolizes the solemnity and uncertainty of Silent Saturday, the day between the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Despite their efforts to restrain and control the situation, the power of God’s will remained unshakeable and unstoppable. Silent Saturday serves as a poignant reminder that even in the darkest moments of our lives, when it seems as though all hope is lost and the forces of fear and doubt hold sway, God’s purposes continue to unfold according to His divine plan. Like the sealed tomb, our lives may be constrained by circumstances, doubts, and fears, but nothing can thwart the ultimate victory of God’s will. In the silence of Holy Saturday, we are invited to trust in God’s faithfulness and sovereignty, even when we cannot see the way forward. It is a time of waiting and preparation, as we anticipate the dawn of Easter Sunday, when the power of God’s love and resurrection will triumph over darkness and death.

Ephesians 1:11

In Ephesians 1:11, we are reminded of the unfathomable riches of God’s grace poured out upon us through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This divine act of love demonstrates the incomprehensible depths of God’s mercy and the boundless extent of His forgiveness.
