Psalm 95:6-7

There’s a quiet invitation tucked into our everyday moments, urging us to slow down just enough to hear God’s voice. Sometimes it comes through a verse that seems to meet us exactly where we are. Other times it shows up in prayer, as that gentle tug we can’t fully explain. We hear the voice of God in worship, when truth sinks a little deeper. And through wise people who speak encouragement right when we need it most. And often, His voice comes in the stillness. Maybe it’s on a morning walk, in the quiet before the house wakes up, or when we finally stop rushing long enough to breathe. God wants to guide us, steady our hearts, and remind us we are His. But He doesn’t shout over the noise. He speaks when we make space to listen. And when we lean in, His presence becomes unmistakable. Because it’s undeniably soft, steady, and full of love. It’s in those moments of listening that we find the strength to face whatever comes next. For God’s voice is the calm anchor in our ever-changing days.

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, help me quiet my heart and open my ears to hear Your voice today. Teach me to recognize Your guidance in the little things and give me the courage to follow wherever You lead.

John 10:27

John 10:27 says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” I love this verse because it reminds me that God is always speaking, I just need to listen. But let’s be honest, life is loud. There are so many voices pulling at us, fear, doubt, the opinions of others, and our own overthinking. It’s easy to get caught up in the noise and miss what God is saying. But Jesus promises that if we are His, we will recognize His voice. So how do we hear Him?

For me it’s through His Word. I hear God when a verse jumps off the page and speaks straight to my heart. I hear God in those quiet moments of prayer when I feel His peace settle over me. Sometimes, I hear God through the Holy Spirit nudging me in a certain direction, or even through a friend’s wise words at just the right time. The more I seek God, the more I recognize when He’s guiding me. But listening isn’t enough. I have to be willing to follow, even when it’s hard. Maybe you’re wondering if you’ve been hearing God and just didn’t realize it. Have you felt that quiet pull toward something deeper? A gentle warning when you were about to take a wrong step? An unexpected peace in the middle of uncertainty? That’s God! He knows you. He’s speaking. The question is, are you listening?

March 2nd – Psalm 32:8

Psalm 32:8

Life can be so chaotic and stressful. Responsibilities, worries, and distractions pull us in all directions, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about which way to go. And with all the outside noise, it can be hard to hear God’s still, small voice. Which is exactly how the enemy wants it. If he can keep us busy, anxious, and distracted, he can keep us from hearing the very voice that leads us to peace, purpose, and truth. But Psalm 32:8 is a beautiful promise from God. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

How awesome is that! Instead of just giving us vague directions, God personally guides us. Lovingly, He walks with us, leading us step by step. His guidance isn’t rushed or chaotic; it’s steady, sure, and full of love. And because He’s showing us the path He created for us to follow, no matter how lost we feel, God knows exactly where we are and where He is leading us. When we take the time to be still, to tune out the distractions, and to seek Him, we will hear God’s voice. All we have to do is trust Him and follow. January 17th – Psalm 95:7

Psalm 95:7

Throughout the the book of Exodus, we learn of the travels of the Israelites as they fled Egypt. Like the Israelites, we too are on an exodus. We are partners with Jesus who leads us on our journey to the Promised Land of Heaven, where we will dwell with Him forever.  And just like the Israelites, our exodus requires trust and faith and obedience.  If we are faithful partners with Christ on “the journey” we can also hope to be partners with Him in eternity and enter into His rest. No matter how great your trial may be, no matter how bad your circumstances are, if you just have faith to trust God to see you through to the other side, your heart will remain soft and eager to obey Him.  You’ll rejoice, thank God even for the trial, because you know, “the Lord is a great God and a great King above all Gods” (v. 3) who is able to save and deliver you.

1 Samuel 2:26

Samuel was a mighty prophet of Israel. But he only got that way by learning to hear, recognize, and obey God’s voice. This allowed him to grow closer and in favor with the Lord. And if we want to grow closer to God, we too must learn to do the same. Many are the ways the Lord tries speaking to us. One is through His Word. Often when we’re reading the Bible, the Holy Spirit will make a particular scripture or passage jump out at us. Another is through prayer. As our two-way life line of communication with God, prayer is our chance to not only talk, but more importantly, listen for His small, still voice. And yet another is through a feeling or impression. Some call them “God Tugs”.  A pull of conviction on our heart. Or a sense of just knowing something deep in our spirit. God never intends for our relationship with Him to be one of coldness or distance. Instead He wants us to be so close, nothing can shake us from His perfect love, grace, and peace. So today use the ears of your heart to listen for the Lord. Be on the lookout for “God Tugs.” Little “aha” moments where you recognize God reaching out. And when you spot one, stop and say, “Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.”
