Habitual Sin

June 28th- Luke 17:4

Luke 17:4

And if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”

Even the strongest of Christian can find themselves stuck in a cycle of habitual sin. A repeated pattern of sinning, repenting, and sinning again. Yet thankfully, God’s forgiveness knows no limits. His love and mercy extend beyond our failures and weaknesses. No matter how many times we stumble or fall into the same patterns, God’s grace is always available to us. He understands our struggles and is patient with our journey of transformation. So each and every time we come to Him with a repentant heart, He forgives us completely and washes away our sins. God’s desire is not to condemn but to restore us, to set us free from the chains of habitual sin. So trust in His unfailing love and lean on His grace to empower you in overcoming habitual sin. Embrace the process of growth and transformation, knowing that through God’s mercy and our willingness to surrender, healing and victory can be ours.

December 15th – 2 Peter 3:9

2 Peter 3:9

Because God takes no pleasure in the destruction of His children, He implores each of us to turn away from our wickedness; crying, “Repent and Live!” But repentance isn’t easy, and if you’re like me, it’s usually two steps forward, one step back. God knows and understands our weakness. All He cares about is that we keep trying, and trust in Him to change the wickedness of our hearts. That means not just confessing and apologizing for our transgressions, but actually turning aside from that sin. And believing that change will come through the strength of Jesus (Phil. 4:13) Unrepentant sin brings with it a host of consequences. Consequences God wants to spare His children. Which is why His own heart aches for the wicked to turn aside from the path of sin leading to death, and back to Him and everlasting life. Gods wants all His children to live eternally by His side, and to experience the perfect, love, joy, and peace that He alone can give!

October 19th – 1 John 3:9

1 John 3:9

When we confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we become new creatures, “born of God.” Adopted children of the Most High, who receive His “spiritual DNA” through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. And because of this indwelling, our spiritual hearts should long for a new way of life. One that no longer yearns to walk in sin, concerned only with fulfilling the lusts of the flesh. But instead one which strives to live in God’s perfect will, freed from our old, corrupt way of life. For as John tells us, if we knowingly and eagerly live in habitual sin, we should be questioning our relationship with the Lord. As fallen beings, we all sin and fail daily. But if our hearts and lives remained unchanged as Christians, we have a problem. And if we aren’t feeling convicted, remorseful, or ashamed of our sins, we need to re-examine our faith.
