Holiness

July 30th – Galatians 3:22

Galatians 3:22

The apostle Paul explains the purpose of God’s Law, revealing that it was never meant to save us. Instead, it demonstrates our inability to keep it flawlessly. The Law acts as a mirror, reflecting our imperfections and showing that even a single transgression makes us guilty of breaking the entire law. This stark reality underscores our desperate need for a Savior. Someone who can bridge the gap between God’s holiness and our sinfulness. Jesus Christ is that Savior, the only one who has perfectly fulfilled the Law. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He offers us freedom from the bondage of sin and the penalty of death. In Him, we find grace and redemption, not through our own efforts, but through His perfect obedience and sacrifice. This profound truth shifts our focus from striving to earn salvation, to embracing the gift of grace offered through faith in Christ. It’s through Him that we receive the righteousness we could never attain on our own, underscoring the transformative power of God’s love and mercy.

June 15th – Hebrews 12:14

Hebrews 12:14

Hebrews 12:14 calls us to pursue peace with everyone, recognizing that without it we can’t truly see the Lord. This pursuit mirrors the fruit of the Spirit, joy, which flourishes in a heart committed to peace and holiness. This gives us a profound sense of fulfillment and contentment which arises from our alignment with God’s will. Striving for peace with others creates fertile ground for this joy to grow, as it fosters harmonious relationships and reduces conflicts. By living in peace and seeking holiness, we embody the Spirit’s transformative work in our lives. Resulting in a radiant joy that reflects God’s love and grace. This joy becomes evident to those around us, drawing others toward the source of our inner tranquility. In a world often marked by division and strife, the commitment to peace and holiness sets us apart, making our lives a testimony to the power of the Spirit’s work. Thus, the fruits of peace and joy are intertwined, each nurturing the other and leading us closer to God.

February 10th – Ephesians 2:4-5

Ephesians 2:4-5

Even when we were eternally separated from God and dead in our sins, He loved us. So much so, that from the richness of His mercy and His unconditional love, God made us alive in Christ. Can there be a more beautiful truth? Despite our wickedness, and because He wishes for none to perish, God offers us salvation and the gift of eternal life. A gift free for us, but one that came at a very high cost to God. And all because He loves us with a love that surpasses all human comprehension, and one deeply rooted in grace and mercy. It’s because of His loving grace, that God reaches down and lifts us from the depths of spiritual separation. God’s divine love serves as the foundation of our faith, anchoring us securely in the assurance of His unmerited favor and undeserved kindness. It is this love that breathes life into the bones of our brokenness. And it is this love which fills us with the incomprehensible grace that bridges the gap between our imperfections and His perfect holiness.

May 13th – Psalm 15

Psalm 15

Who may live with almighty God in heaven? If the list of requirements in Psalm 15 sound impossible, it’s supposed to be. Because the truth is, we can’t realize our need for Jesus until we understand how impossible it is for us to achieve God’s holiness. Romans 3:23 reminds us, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”.  We are all guilty. And everyone of us needs a Redeemer. This is why we must depend on Jesus. Because He is the One who can save, cleanse, and prepare us to dwell in His tent forever. In all the world, the Lord alone walked in perfect righteousness. And when we abide in Him and His power, we too can walk the path of righteousness. Never will we be shaken! And one glorious day, we will dwell with the Lord forever on God’s holy hill!

February 3rd – Romans 3:23

Romans 3:23

What is the glory of God? The Bible tells us that the world is full of it. God created this world and filled it with the splendor of his glory. Every created thing, being, or person points to the Creator and has intrinsic value given by the Creator. Creation showcases a supreme being who is beyond what creation can fathom. We catch glimpses but we can’t fully comprehend the perfection and Holiness of the One who made us and gives us purpose.

Adam, who witnessed Creation at its finest and who knew the most intimate relationship with His Creator failed to truly appreciate and surrender to his God given place and purpose. He sinned and through Adam, all human beings are born with a sinful nature. That sinful nature separates us from the Holiness of God. We are ALL sinners. We all have the same need. Sinners need a savior. God loved us enough to provide that Savior. Christ is the Savior who can reconcile us to God and His glory.

Blessings….Becky
