Holy Spirit

March 11th – Hebrews 10:22

Hebrews 10:22

When we receive Jesus as our Savior, we become adopted children into God’s family. That means never again do we have to face the world alone. Now we can draw near to the Lord with the full assurance that He will never forsake us. And not only will He answer our calls, God sends the Holy Spirit to indwell us, who begins working on our hearts and minds. And when we surrender completely to Him, God will remove the evil from our conscience, and shower us clean with His holy, pure water.

March 6th – Ezekiel 18:31

Ezekiel 18:31

God wants each us to have an abundant life. But that can only happen when we turn away from our sin and turn back to Him. For if we truly want the new hearts and minds God offers, we have to give up our worldly living and self destructive ways. And instead, surrender to the work of the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to produce a renewal in our lives. For God longs for a close, personal relationship with each of us. And walking hand in hand with Him, will bring us a lifetime of joy compared to the moment of pleasure that any sin can offer!

March 5th – Ephesians 4:23

Ephesians 4:23

Once we lived with fleshly spirits, hostile to and separated from God. But when we receive Jesus as our Savior, a wonderful thing begins to happen. The Holy Spirit comes to indwell us and gets to work producing change. Now, because of that change, no longer do we have hearts that crave worldly things. Instead we set our hearts and minds on the things of God. And that’s why it’s so important to spend time with Him daily in His Word. For the Bible contains all we need to produce a joyful, thankful, continuing renewal of our spirits.

March 4th – Psalm 51:12

Psalm 51:12

Once we accept Jesus as our Savior, we receive the free gift of salvation. And although that salvation can never be lost, the joy of being saved is diminished when we live in unrepentant sin. David loved the Lord, but his sin with Bathsheba affected the relationship between them. And sin affects ours as well. And to bring us back into fellowship with God we need to, like David, confess and repent from our sin. When we do, God is faithful to welcome us back into His loving arms, and fill our hearts with the joy of having a close personal relationship with Him once again!

February 27th – 1 Corinthians 2:9

1 Corinthians 2:9

As fallen beings, we are barely able to comprehend all God has in store for us. For we know His ways and thoughts are higher than we could ever comprehend. But in His mercy, God sent the Holy Spirit to indwell all who receive Jesus as their Savior. And through the Spirit, God reveals to us Himself, His plans, and the great depths of His love. A love unequalled, and one that brings to us all of God’s promises, blessings, and peace. For God loves to reward generously, and beyond imagining, all whom He calls His own!

February 24th – 1 Corinthians 13:2

1 Corinthians 13:2

Each of us is blessed with our own unique talents and gifts. But no matter how talented we are, when those gifts aren’t used with a foundation of love, they mean nothing. God blesses us so that we in turn can bless others. That means using our spiritual gifts with unselfish motives of furthering God’s kingdom. And when we fully understand the depths of love that God has for us, everything we do will come from hearts of thankfulness. For even though faith and hope are vital to the Christian walk, love is the greatest of all. And we can love, because He first loved us!

February 21st – 1 John 4:21

1 John 4:21

The main theme throughout the Bible is love. God’s love for us, and our love for God. But the Bible also makes it very clear that the love God shows us is to be demonstrated toward others. For everyday our Father in heaven loves us, who are unlovable, with His perfect unconditional love. And we in turn need to shower others with that same love. Now on our own, such a commandment is impossible. But through God, and a heart filled with the Spirit, all things are possible, including loving others.

Going From Glory To Glory – (2 Corinthians 3)

2 Corinthians 3

One of my heroes in the Bible has always been Paul. He is the perfect example of how no one is beyond God’s reach. Previously known as Saul of Tarsus, he was a respected and highly educated Pharisee, who not believing Jesus to be God, saw Christians as blasphemers deserving of persecution and death. So it should come as no surprise when we learn in Acts 9:1-2 that Saul asked for letters from the high priest that he could present to the synagogues in Damascus, allowing him to take all followers of Jesus as prisoners. (Acts 9:1-2). …

February 2nd – 1 Corinthians 16:14

1 Corinthians 16:14

In his letter to the Corinthians Paul instructed the people to be alert, stand firm, and be strong. But above all else, whatever they did, both great and small, was to be done in love. And Paul calls us to do the same. For if we are truly followers of Jesus, our goal should be to become reflections of His character. And one of the greatest characteristics of Jesus is His unmerited and unconditional love for all. We too can exhibit that same love when we allow the Holy Spirit to work on our hearts, softening them to allow Christ’s love to flow through to others.

January 23rd – Ezekiel 36:26

Ezekiel 36:26

When we receive Jesus as our Savior, a remarkable thing begins to happen. The Holy Spirit comes to indwell us and begins His remodeling project. He breaks down the walls of our fleshly, sinful hearts, and begins a transformation. The old is thrown away and the new begins to take shape. The Spirit cleanses our sin and renews our minds, allowing our souls to become joyful reflections of our Savior.  And all this is possible through the life, death, and sacrifice of the One who gave all to call us His, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God!
