Honor

September 24th – Hebrews 13:15

Hebrews 13:15

Hebrews 13:15 reminds us that praise is like fruit. It’s something beautiful which grows from a heart rooted in God. Offering the fruit of praise isn’t just about singing on Sundays, or thanking God when life feels good. It’s about choosing to honor Him in every season. True praise is powerful because it’s not dependent on our circumstances. It flows from knowing who God is. Sometimes that means lifting our voices in joy. Other times it means whispering thanks through tears, declaring His faithfulness even in the waiting. Praise shifts our focus from our problems to His promises. It silences the enemy’s lies, and fills our hearts with hope. When we make praise a lifestyle, we carry God’s presence with us into every situation, changing us from the inside out. The fruit of praise not only blesses God, it softens our hearts, strengthens our faith, and reminds us that no matter what we face, He is still worthy, still good, and still on the throne.

Reflection Question: What’s one thing you can intentionally praise God for today, even if life feels hard?

Prayer Prompt: “Lord, help me to continually offer You the fruit of praise. Teach me to worship not just in the good times, but in every moment, trusting that You are always worthy.”

May 26th – John 15:13

John 15:13

Today, we pause to remember the weight of sacrifice. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a sacred moment to honor those who gave everything so we could live in freedom. It’s about brave men and women who laid down their lives, not for recognition, but out of love. That kind of sacrifice mirrors the love of our Savior. Jesus said in John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” As we reflect on those who wore the uniform and never came home, may we also look to the Cross. Where love made the greatest sacrifice of all. Today, we’re reminded that freedom always comes at a price. Let’s live in a way that honors their legacy, by loving deeply, forgiving freely, and living with purpose. Let us pray for the families still grieving. Let us thank God for the gift of freedom and those who defended it. May we raise our flags high, not just in patriotism, but in reverence. And let us cling to the hope of heaven, where no tear will fall and peace will reign forever.

September 15th – Ephesians 5:33

Week 3 – Wisdom In Relationships (Ephesians 5:33)

The apostle Paul offers timeless wisdom for relationships, particularly between husbands and wives. He instructs husbands to love their wives as they love themselves, and for wives to respect their husbands. This mutual care and devotion form the foundation of a healthy and God-centered relationship. Love, as Paul describes it, is not just a feeling, but a choice to honor and serve one another daily. It’s a selfless love that mirrors Christ’s love for the Church. One that sacrifices, nurtures, and uplifts. Respect, on the other hand, fosters trust and appreciation, creating an environment where love can thrive. When both partners embrace these principles, they cultivate a relationship that reflects God’s design for unity and harmony. We live in a world where love can be conditional and fleeting. That’s why Paul’s call to love and respect offers a steady, enduring guide. Applying this wisdom not only strengthens marriages but also radiates God’s love to others through our example.

Questions For Reflection-

  1. How can we actively choose to demonstrate love and respect in our relationships, even when it may be difficult or challenging?
  1. In what ways can we model Christ’s selfless love in our interactions with others, especially in our closest relationships?

Love deeply and respect fully. Together, that’s the harmony of hearts God designed. 🙏🏻❤️

September 13th – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Week 2 – Wisdom In Health (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

As followers of Jesus, we have the incredible honor and privilege of the Spirit of the living God dwelling within us. That means our bodies aren’t just physical vessels, but temples of the Holy Spirit entrusted to us by the Lord. And the apostle Paul tells us this should impact the way we view ourselves. For we are called to a higher standard of care and respect for our bodies. Eating right, exercising, and nurturing our health aren’t just personal choices but acts of wise stewardship. When we honor our physical bodies, we honor God, recognizing that we’ve been bought at a great price. Purchased through the blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are to glorify God in both our bodies and spirits. Taking care of our health equips us to serve Him fully, with energy, clarity, and strength. It’s not about vanity or superficial goals, but about valuing the temple God has given us. So that we can live long, fulfilling lives, carrying out His purpose and reflecting His glory in all we do.

Questions For Reflection –

  1. How can we honor God by taking better care of our bodies, knowing they are temples of the Holy Spirit?
  1. In what areas of our physical, mental, or spiritual health can we practice greater stewardship to glorify God more fully in our daily lives?

Your body is a temple, a sacred space where the Spirit of God dwells. Nurture it, cherish it, and let it shine for His glory! 🙏🏻❤️

July 12th – 1 Peter 4:10

1 Peter 4:10

The unique gifts God gives each of us are for serving others, reflecting the freedom we have in Jesus. This service becomes a living testament to the freedom we’ve received through Christ. It frees us from selfishness and empowers us to act with love and generosity. Whether through teaching, encouragement, hospitality, or any other gift, our actions can bring hope and healing to others, showcasing the diversity of God’s grace. By faithfully stewarding our gifts, we both honor God and answer His call to work for His glory and kingdom. This active participation in serving others deepens our sense of purpose and connection, making our freedom in Christ tangible and impactful. July 7th – 1 Peter 2:16

1 Peter 2:16

Peter warns us against misusing the freedom given to us by God to justify sinful behavior. For true freedom in Christ comes with the responsibility to live righteously. When we claim our liberty in Christ, it’s not a license to sin or to excuse actions that go against God’s commands. To do so means we don’t understand what it means to be a free servant of God. Instead of masking evil with the guise of freedom, we are called to live as slaves of God, demonstrating His righteousness and love through our actions. Similarly, submission to human authorities must be with our higher allegiance to God’s moral law. Just because a law permits or even mandates certain actions doesn’t mean they align with God’s will. True freedom involves discerning and obeying God’s principles above all, even when it contradicts societal or governmental demands. By living out our freedom in service to God, we reflect His character and uphold His standards, ensuring our choices honor Him rather than exploit His grace.

May 22nd – Zechariah 14:3

Zechariah 14:3

In the quiet hush of dawn, Christ first came. He came not with the roar of a Lion but with the tender grace of a Lamb, walking amongst us in humility and love. But Zechariah’s prophecy regarding the second triumphant return of Jesus is very different. For this time He will come not as the gentle and humble Lamb, but as the fierce Lion of Judah, majestic and mighty. Oh how the anticipation swells within our hearts, knowing that we shall ride alongside Him! On white chargers, our souls ablaze with the fire of righteousness, we too will return. For we will be given the honor and privilege to be counted among the ranks of God’s mighty army. Standing firm in the face of darkness, wielding the sword of truth, we will march boldly for the Lord. So as the days grow short until the dawn of His return, let us lift our voices in joy! Because we are chosen to stand shoulder to shoulder with the King of Kings, as His faithful warriors in the battle for righteousness and redemption.

May 14th – Titus 2:13-14

Titus 2:13-14

The apostle Paul reminds us of the blessed hope we have in Jesus Christ. And how, through His sacrifice, we have been purified and set apart for His glory. But what does that mean? It means that while we wait for His glorious return, we are not to grow weary or lose heart, but instead remain steadfast in our faith and commitment to the Lord. And to allow the Holy Spirit to continually work on shaping us into the image of Jesus. Which happens when we surrender ourselves wholly to His refining fire, allowing Him to cleanse us from all unrighteousness and mold us into vessels fit for His use. As we are set apart for Jesus, our lives take on a distinct purpose and direction. One which reflects His love, grace, and truth to the world around us. So let us be diligent in doing good works, eager to bring honor and glory to His name. And as we look for His return, may we be filled with a holy reverence and awe. For one day we will stand before Him, purified and set apart, ready to receive our eternal inheritance in His kingdom.

May 12th – Proverbs 31:28-29

Proverbs 31:28-29

Writer and poet, Rudyard Kipling once said, “God could not be everywhere, and therefore He made mothers.” Proverbs 31:28-29 celebrates the incredible value and significance of mothers of all kinds. They are the unsung heroes whose love knows no bounds and whose sacrifices often go unnoticed. Their nurturing spirit and unwavering support shape the foundation of families and communities alike. Indeed, motherhood is the most important job in the world. Because it involves not only the care and upbringing of children but also the shaping of hearts and minds. On Mother’s Day, we take a moment to honor and express our gratitude to these remarkable women. The ones who pour out their love and devotion day in and day out. Whether biological, adoptive, or maternal figures in our lives, they deserve to be celebrated for their boundless love, selflessness, and strength. Let us cherish and appreciate them not just today but every day, recognizing the invaluable role they play in shaping our lives and our world.

April 6th – Psalm 96:12-13

Psalm 96:12-13

Martin Luther once said, “Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us.” Nature sings of God’s glory and majesty, from the tallest mountains to the depths of the seas, filling our hearts with awe and wonder. With each sunrise and sunset, with every rustle of the leaves and chirp of the birds, creation proclaims the greatness of our Creator. Let us join creation’s chorus, lifting our voices in harmony with the wind, the waves, and the whispering trees. For He who formed the heavens and the earth deserves all honor and praise. As the rivers flow and the flowers bloom, let us be reminded of God’s faithfulness and love that never fades. With hearts overflowing with gratitude, let us declare His wonders to the nations, sharing the gladness of His salvation. For in God’s presence, there is fullness of joy, and in His light, we find true peace. So let us make music, rejoice, and be glad, for the Lord reigns over all the earth, now and forevermore.
