House of the Lord

September 11th – Psalm 27:4

Psalm 27:4

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple,

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the distractions and demands of daily life. Yet there is great importance in setting aside time for reflection, prayer, and worship. Importance in nourishing our souls and finding meaning in our daily existence. That’s why it’s vital to be constantly seeking the Lord. To deeply desire dwelling in the house of the Lord. The house of the Lord represents not just a physical place of worship, but a spiritual space. It’s where believers can draw near to the Lord, seek guidance, find solace, and experience God’s presence in our lives. The Lord’s house is a beautiful sanctuary. One where we can offer prayers, engage in worship, and grow in our faith. By dedicating ourselves to seeking the presence of God, we can a sense of purpose amid the chaos of this world. March 26th – Psalm 15:1

Psalm 15:1

If the list of requirements to dwell with God forever sound impossible, it’s because it’s supposed to be. For we can’t truly realize our need for Jesus until we understand how far we have fallen short of God’s holiness. Christ is the only one who can cleanse us and prepare us to dwell in His house forever. And thankfully, we have the blessing of receiving His gift of pardon. All we must do is confess our sins and repent. What does it mean to repent? It means to turn aside from our wickedness and sin. Walking away from the things the flesh desires and walking with Jesus. Because in all the world there was only One whose walk was utterly blameless. Only One who always did what was righteous. That person was the Lord Jesus Christ. And when we abide in Him and in His strength, we can find victory in our lives.  No matter what life throws at us, we will never be shaken and can have confidence that one day we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

March 3rd – psalm 92:14

Psalm 92:14

In a world that searches endlessly for the fountain of youth, God assures us His blessings aren’t reserved for the young. As long as we continue to walk with the Lord and seek His will, no matter our age we can bear fruit and be effective workers in His kingdom.  Because even if we aren’t physically able to serve the Lord, we can be examples to others by bearing the fruit of, “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Gal. 5:22). Bodies grow old and frail, but no physical infirmity can stop the Spirit of God from working in and through us. And those who walk in righteousness, God promises will “flourish like the palm tree“, “grow like a cedar in Lebanon“, and the most wonderful of all, be “planted in the house of the Lord.” There we will “flourish in the courts of our God“, and be “full of sap and very green“.
