Inheritance

May 14th – Titus 2:13-14

Titus 2:13-14

The apostle Paul reminds us of the blessed hope we have in Jesus Christ. And how, through His sacrifice, we have been purified and set apart for His glory. But what does that mean? It means that while we wait for His glorious return, we are not to grow weary or lose heart, but instead remain steadfast in our faith and commitment to the Lord. And to allow the Holy Spirit to continually work on shaping us into the image of Jesus. Which happens when we surrender ourselves wholly to His refining fire, allowing Him to cleanse us from all unrighteousness and mold us into vessels fit for His use. As we are set apart for Jesus, our lives take on a distinct purpose and direction. One which reflects His love, grace, and truth to the world around us. So let us be diligent in doing good works, eager to bring honor and glory to His name. And as we look for His return, may we be filled with a holy reverence and awe. For one day we will stand before Him, purified and set apart, ready to receive our eternal inheritance in His kingdom.

May 9th – Matthew 6:19-21

Matthew 6:19-21

I can remember as a child watching the television show, “The Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous.” Each episode I blown away by the expensive houses, cars, jewelry, and fashion highlighted. Yet as nice as earthly treasures are, Matthew urges us to set our hearts instead on storing up treasures in heaven. For in a world where material possessions fade and riches are fleeting, the kingdom of God stands as an eternal and incorruptible inheritance. One that will never tarnish, or can be taken away. So instead of chasing after worldly pleasures and treasures, let us prioritize the work of the Lord, knowing that our true reward awaits us in eternity. May our lives be characterized by sacrificial love, compassionate service, and unwavering devotion to God’s will. And as we await the fulfillment of His promises, let us live with joyful anticipation. Because our ultimate inheritance is eternal life in Christ. Where joy abounds, every tear wiped away, and each longing fulfilled in His glorious presence.

May 3rd – Mark 13:35-37

Mark 13:35-37

Jesus often taught in parables. And in Mark 13:35-37, Jesus tells of a traveling man who leaves his servants in charge while he’s gone. A story Jesus tells to impart a sacred charge, entrusting His house, authority, and work to us until His glorious return. As stewards of His divine inheritance, we are called to vigilance and diligence, keeping the lamp of faith burning bright. Just as a master entrusts his servants with responsibility, so too has Christ entrusted us with the sacred task of advancing His kingdom. Let us not grow weary or complacent, but instead, let us labor tirelessly in His name, knowing that our efforts bear eternal significance. With each passing moment, let us remain watchful and ready, for the hour of His return is unknown. May we be found faithful and obedient, fulfilling His purposes until the very minute He comes. And when that moment arrives, may we hear the sweet words of our Master saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” as we enter into His eternal joy.

March 23rd – 1 Peter 1:3

1 Peter 1:3

The Jews who followed Jesus were exiled and scattered across the lands. In need of great hope, Peter reminded them of the living hope we have in Jesus. A hope that springs eternal from the resurrection of Christ from the dead. This hope is not merely wishful thinking, but a confident assurance in the promises of God and the certainty of His faithfulness. The resurrection of Jesus serves as the cornerstone of our faith, providing us with unwavering confidence in God’s power to overcome sin and death. As we reflect on the hope of Easter, we find comfort in knowing that God is actively at work in our lives, orchestrating all things for our good and His glory. Even in the midst of trials and uncertainties, we cling to this living hope, knowing that our future is secure in the hands of our faithful Savior. So let our lips sing praises to the Lord! For His resurrection has transformed our lives.  And His sacrifice has given us a glorious inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for us.

March 18th – Ephesians 1:11

Ephesians 1:11

In Ephesians 1:11, we are reminded of the unfathomable riches of God’s grace poured out upon us through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. His blood, shed on the cross, serves as the ultimate payment for the forgiveness of our sins and the restoration of our broken relationship with God. Impossible to do on our own, through Christ, we are redeemed, reconciled, and adopted as our heavenly Father’s beloved children. This divine act of love demonstrates the incomprehensible depths of God’s mercy and the boundless extent of His forgiveness. As we reflect on the magnitude of Jesus’ sacrifice, our hearts overflow with gratitude for His amazing grace. We stand in awe of the freedom we have been granted in Christ, liberated from the bondage of sin and death, and welcomed into the eternal inheritance of the saints. Let us, therefore, bow in humble adoration, thanking God for His immeasurable love and the redemption that is ours through Jesus’ precious blood.
