Integrity

September 5th – Proverbs 11:18

Proverbs 11:18

Proverbs 11:18 reminds us that “the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.” What a promise that is! When we choose to live with honesty, integrity, and faithfulness to God, our efforts are never wasted. But sometimes righteousness feels costly. Like choosing truth when a lie would be easier, extending forgiveness when it hurts, or walking away from what the world celebrates. Yet God sees every small step of obedience, even the ones no one else notices. His rewards don’t always come in the form of wealth or applause, but they are far richer. Rewards like peace that steadies our hearts, joy that no circumstance can steal, strength to endure trials, and treasures that last an eternity. Each day, we are plant seeds either for ourselves or for God’s Kingdom. What we sow today shapes the harvest of tomorrow. If we want a life that bears fruit, it begins with choosing righteousness in the ordinary moments. And trusting that God will bring about a sure and lasting harvest.

Reflection Question: What kind of seeds am I sowing in my daily life? Ones that fade with the world, or ones that reap God’s eternal reward?

Prayer Prompt: Lord, help me to sow seeds of righteousness in every choice I make. Keep me faithful, even in the small things, and remind me that Your rewards are sure and eternal.

August 20th – Colossians 3:9-10

Week 3 – Embracing Renewal (Colossians 3:9-10)

Bible teacher A.W. Pink once said,” An honest heart seeks to please God in all things and offend Him in none.” As Christians, we are now one big family, united by our faith in Christ. This means we should treat each other with the love, care, and respect that family deserves. And a key aspect of this is always speaking the truth to one another in love. In Colossians 3:9-10, Paul emphasizes that believers should not lie to each other. Why?  Because our new identity in Christ demands honesty. When we put our trust in Christ, we become new people who have died to sin and been made alive in Him. Our goal is to live a Christ-like life, reflecting His character in all we do. Lying to one another is inconsistent with this new identity. And it undermines the trust and unity that should define us as a family in Christ. Paul’s reasoning is grounded in the highest authority, Jesus Himself, who is truth. As members of God’s family, we are called to live out this truth in our relationships, building one another up with honesty, integrity, and love.

Questions For Reflection –

  1. How can we ensure that our interactions with fellow believers are marked by honesty and love, reflecting our new identity in Christ as described in Colossians 3:9-10?
  1. In what ways can we actively practice speaking the truth in love within our Christian community, fostering deeper trust and unity as members of God’s family?

In God’s family, honesty is our language and love is our heartbeat. 🙏🏻❤️

Matthew 12:33

Matthew 12:33 reminds us that a tree is recognized by its fruit. Meaning it’s our actions, not our words, which reveal our true nature and allegiance. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit indwells within us. Immediately He begins the work of transforming our hearts and guiding us toward producing good fruit, actions that are pleasing to God. Qualities like kindness, patience, and humility, the Spirit urges us to embrace and reflect in our lives. Through acts of service, compassion, and integrity, we demonstrate the transformative power of Christ in us. This authentic expression of faith influences those around us, showing the world who we are and to whom we belong. Our deeds, driven by a heart touched by the Spirit, become a testimony of God’s love and power. Matthew 24:13

Patience is the steadfastness that allows us to remain faithful through trials and tribulations. It shows a commitment to persist in faith, even when circumstances are difficult or God’s promises seem distant. This endurance is an active trust in God’s faithfulness, bolstered by the Holy Spirit. It means holding onto our faith amidst adversity, knowing that our perseverance has eternal significance. The fruit of patience grows from a deep relationship with Christ, where we draw strength and hope from His presence and promises. It enables us to navigate life’s challenges without losing heart, maintaining our integrity and commitment to God. This enduring patience refines our character, strengthens our faith, and demonstrates our unwavering hope in God’s ultimate salvation. June 2nd – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

If you ask people what love means, you’d get many different definitions. But the only one which is genuine and true, is the one the apostle Paul gives. He tells us love is patient and kind, not envious, boastful, or proud. Love does not dishonor others, nor is it self-seeking or easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs and does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. This teaches us that true love is enduring and resilient. It always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. Paul’s description of love serves as a guide for how we should treat others, and the importance of selflessness, humility, and forgiveness. It challenges us to be patient with those around us, showing kindness even when it’s difficult. To let go of grudges and to find joy in honesty and integrity. Love, as Paul describes it, is a commitment to the well-being of others, reflecting the love that Christ has for us. By embodying these characteristics, we not only strengthen our relationships but also bear witness to the transformative power of God’s love in our lives.

May 13th – Ephesians 5:8

Ephesians 5:8

With so many opinions in the world, and just as many people ready to give them, no wonder people are confused as to which way to turn. And as the days grow closer to the return of our Savior, Paul calls us, as followers of Jesus, to be children of light. Walking in the ways of righteousness and truth. Living lives that are a reflection of the divine light that shines within us, illuminating the darkness that surrounds us. In a world often shrouded in despair and uncertainty, may we stand as beacons of hope and love, guiding others towards the radiant truth of Christ. Let our actions speak louder than words, demonstrating the transformative power of God’s grace in our lives. With hearts ablaze with the fire of His love, let us live with integrity and purity, beaming brightly in a world that desperately needs the light of Christ. April 10th – Revelation22:12

Revelation 22:12

When Jesus returns, He won’t come empty-handed. He’ll bring with Him the glory of justice, rewarding each person according to their deeds. For the faithful, there are promises of heavenly rewards. Earned for their steadfastness in righteousness. Yet, for those who have turned away from God, there awaits a reckoning. For every action, good and bad, will face its consequence. The return of Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of God’s justice, ensuring that no deed goes unnoticed or unrewarded. The apostle Paul, nearing his own execution, eagerly anticipated receiving the crown of righteousness from the Lord. Yet he humbly acknowledged that all who long for the Lord’s appearing share in this promise. As we journey through life, let us hold fast to the hope of our heavenly reward, living with faithfulness and integrity in every deed. And let us not forget that God’s justice ensures that every action, whether seen or unseen, will be met with its due payment, both for good and evil.

March 25th – Mark 11:12-14

Mark 11:12-14

As we approach the celebration of Resurrection Day, many are the lessons we can learn from Jesus during this most Holy Week. The accounts of Jesus cursing the fig tree and overturning the money-changing tables at the temple, both share a common theme of confronting hypocrisy and spiritual emptiness. In both instances, Jesus reacts strongly against outward displays of religiosity that lack genuine substance. The fig tree, though appearing healthy from afar, bore no fruit, symbolizing the barrenness of a faith lacking true righteousness. Similarly, the money-changing tables in the temple represented a corruption of worship, where greed and deception took precedence over genuine reverence for God. Jesus’ actions in both cases serve as a powerful rebuke against a superficial faith, and a call to authentic devotion and spiritual integrity. They remind us that God what values most of all, is a sincere heart and genuine worship above mere outward appearances.

March 16th – Psalm 101:2

Psalm 101:2

Christians around the world are celebrating Lent. Lasting from Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday, for 40 days ( not counting Sundays) people fast, give up a bad habit, or restrict themselves in some other way. All done with the intent of repentance and restoration. But why do we need a religious holiday to lead such a life? Shouldn’t each day be an opportunity to rid our lives from things that cause us to stumble in our walk with God? David thought so. And in Psalm 101, he gives us practical ways and sound advice in removing our own obstacles. As a man after God’s own heart, (1 Sam. 13:14) David wanted to lead a life he could be proud of. One that glorified God. That meant behaving wisely, practicing self control, and walking with integrity. We too should have a desire to be free of all the garbage in our lives that keep us from walking closer with the Lord. And as the change of the season is almost upon us, what better time to do some spring cleaning, and sweep out the cobwebs of sin!

August 17th – Colossians 4:1

Colossians 4:1

Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

Our world today is more divided than ever. And hate for one another is running rampant. But as Christians we know better. we know that we all belong one Creator. All are equally loved by God, and precious in His sight. And as followers of Jesus, we need to treat each other with respect, dignity, and fairness. This means reflecting a Christlike attitude of recognizing the value and worth of everyone individual. We can do this by listening more than talking, valuing others opinions, and making sure that every voice is heard. Whether we agree with the opinion spoken or not. It’s about upholding the principles of honesty, integrity, and empathy in all we do. The world is watching. And when we treat people fairly, we mirror the teachings of Christ. The One who demonstrates love and compassion without favoritism. By embracing this principle, we contribute to a more just and harmonious world, where every person is valued and treated with the kindness they deserve.
