Isaiah

July 6th – Isaiah 61:10

Isaiah 61:10

What better cause do we have to rejoice, than knowing how generously the Lord showers us with gifts. And one of the greatest is the gift of salvation. Salvation has nothing to do with who a person is or what they do. Instead it is the result of God’s grace. No matter how hard we work, how much we obey, or how many good things we do in this life, none are enough to save us. No, salvation only comes through Jesus Christ and His saving grace. It is His blood that clothes us, covering us in His precious robe of righteousness. So no wonder our souls delight in the God of our salvation. The One who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Eph. 1:3) And all because we put our hope and faith in God and in His only begotten Son.

Walking In Wisdom – 2 Thessalonians 3

2 Thessalonians 3

Something is in the air. Can you feel it? Bible prophecy is being fulfilled at record speed before our very eyes. Believers who may have put God on the back burner are now seeking Him with renewed interest. Even the secular world has become enthralled with Armageddon and the last days. With the signs all around us, how can we help but wonder if we are living in the end times.

June 14th – Isaiah 55:11

Isaiah 55:11

We are living in turbulent times. And now more than ever people are asking why these things are happening, what they mean, and what comes next. So what a blessing it is to have God’s Word. For the Bible is filled with the answers to our many questions. And in it contains history, prophecy, wisdom, and most wonderful of all, the Good News of Jesus Christ. Everything we need to get through life in victory. And as Hebrews 4:12 tells us, “the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Every word it contains true, and every promise will be fulfilled. God gave us the Bible so we wouldn’t walk in darkness and ignorance. And now is the perfect opportunity to share God’s Word to a questioning world. The harvest is ripe and ready for reaping!

June 9th – Isaiah 40:31

Isaiah 40:31

Each day is filled with its own challenges. And it doesn’t take much for those challenges to overwhelm us. But for those who wait on the Lord, help is at hand. Because when we turn to Him in our times of need, God is there. He is there to strengthen, renew, and carry us through. Our Father in heaven will never forsake us, nor leave us to fight our battle alone. Isaiah compares God’s loving care to that of an eagle. Mighty warriors who protect their young, eagles carry their eaglets away from danger. They soar high above the clouds where the sun shines and no storm rages. And just like that eagle, God carries us on His wings providing all we need to soar through even the toughest of times. No matter what we face, God promises to those whom He loves, strength to run without tiring, and walking without growing weary.

May 28th – Isaiah 40:29

Isaiah 40:29

One of the greatest qualities of God is His long suffering kindness. No matter how we May fail Him, He never withholds His goodness and love. And as Christians we need to reflect that same goodness and love to the world around us. But to be able to do this takes daily work on our part. Work to cast aside the pull of worldly desires, and put on the righteousness of Jesus. Hard to do on our own. Thankfully, we never need worry about accomplishing our goals in our own power. For God in His unmerited love, gives to us all we need to perform any task set before us. He gives strength to the weary, and power to the powerless. So put your trust in Him. “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (2 Cor. 1:25)

Isaiah 41:10

Isaiah 41:10

After following Moses for forty years, it became Joshua’s turn to lead over two million people. And not just any people, God’s chosen people. But Moses left some sage advice to calm the fears of both Joshua and us. When we get a calling by God, don’t be afraid. Because when He gives us a job to do, God never asks us to do it alone. He is always with us, working hand in hand. Before we even take our first step, the Lord is already ahead of us clearing the path. And He will supply all we need to get the job done. While it’s true through our own power we are limited, through God’s there’s nothing we can’t do! So when you hear God’s call, answer it bravely, boldly, and eagerly. And be prepared to do amazing things!

Here Am I, Send Me! – Isaiah 6

Isaiah 6

The Bible teaches about many prophets. Men and women anointed to be used by God in awesome ways. But far from enjoying peaceful, easy living, God’s prophets were often despised, persecuted, and imprisoned. And the messages they brought, hated and disregarded. Many suffered tragic, violent deaths. Yet they still stayed true to revealing God’s messages. Why? Because of divine encounters with the Lord. Encounters that transformed both their hearts and their lives. …

January 30th – Isaiah 35:4

Isaiah 35:4

Timothy warned that near the point of Christ’s return, society would degenerate to all forms of ungodliness. (2 Tim. 3:2) And we’re there. Yet no matter how evil the world becomes we needn’t fear. For very soon God is coming with a vengeance to make things right. Isaiah too faced the desolation of his culture. The Assyrian Empire was sweeping through the land destroying everything in its path. The Northern tribes of Israel had already been conquered and dispersed. And the Southern Kingdom of Judah was next. Yet Isaiah didn’t give in to fear or despair. Instead he calmed the anxious in heart with the promise of God. A promise we too can claim. The Lord will save those He calls His own! And in His perfect timing, goodness and righteousness, He will come to restore the land and banish all evil forever!

January 25th – Isaiah 30:21

Isaiah 30:21

Trying to discern God’s perfect plan for our life can make us anxious at times. We’ve prayed. We’ve weighed the pros and cons, sought the advice of others and still we’re not certain. What then? It’s those times we need to remember that God loves us! And He wants us to lean on Him. This includes listening for His voice directing us at all times. For God has a plan to get us there if we are obedient and willing to follow His leading. He knows the way and clearly sees the path ahead, knows the stumbling blocks that will try to trip us up, and wants to guide and help us get through even the darkest valleys. The answer hasn’t always come right away and definitely not in the same ways each time, but it has always come! Which is why I believe God is more interested in teaching me to lean on and listen to Him in times of indecision. If we are truly seeking His path, we can rest assured that we will hear and follow, so let’s not forget to enjoy the journey together.

Blessings, Sue

January 14th – Isaiah 41:13

Isaiah 41:13

I can remember as a child times of being afraid and looking for a trusted hand to grasp for reassurance. And the moment I wrapped my tiny fingers around the strong, protective ones of my chosen person, my fears subsiding. Young or old, we all need that hand to hold. The one that tells us, “Everything will be alright. I’ve got you. And I won’t let you go.” We have that mighty hand in God. Our loving Father and Friend, He is always there, day and night saying to us, “Don’t be afraid. No matter matter what you face, you don’t have to face it alone.” God will never leave nor forsake us. Never will He let us face our struggles alone. Instead with every step we take, He is there. And not just walking beside us, but literally offering His loving hand of help.  A hand not just to calm our fears, but to pull us out of every fear, trial, and tribulation.
