March 2nd – Isaiah 40:31

Isaiah 40:31

Each day is filled with its own challenges. And it doesn’t take much for those challenges to overwhelm us. But for those who wait on the Lord, help is at hand. Because when we turn to Him in our times of need, God is there. He is there to strengthen, renew, and carry us through. Our Father in heaven will never forsake us, nor leave us to fight our battle alone. And like an eagle soaring high above the clouds, God provides all we need to soar through even the toughest of times.

Who Dares Mock God – Isaiah 36-39

Isaiah 36-39

In Isaiah chapter seven, the kingdom of Judah is being threatened by surrounding nations. God sends the prophet Isaiah to king Ahaz to deliver a message telling him to have no fear and stand strong. For the plans of the enemy, “shall not stand, nor come to pass.” (vs. 7:7) But instead of trusting God, Ahaz turned to the Assyrians, (with disastrous results), for protection. Now some 34 years later the son of Ahaz, Hezekiah, is king and Judah is once again being threatened. This time it’s by the Assyrians themselves led by king Shennacherib. …

Life is full of change. But change is hard, and not all of it is good. Yet each day, through the good and bad, God is with us. He cares, and is actively involved in every aspect of our lives. The Lord strengthens us by sending the Holy Spirit to guide us, and His precious Word to direct our steps. And in His great mercy, when we cry out to Him, God will answer our call. Do you ever get frustrated when you don’t see your resolutions come to fruition? If so, you’re not alone. When it comes to making changes, for those who go it on their own, the outcome is almost always certain failure. God Can Use Anyone – (Ezra 1:1-3:13)

Ezra 1:1-3:13

The prophet Isaiah wrote a prophecy concerning one whom God called “His anointed”. (Is. 44:28-45:25) A man who God would take by the right hand. A man used by God to subdue nations, rebuild His temple, and shepherd His people. Who was this great man? No other than Cyrus the great. A mighty king of Persia who didn’t know God, and who followed his own rules. And yet roughly 150 years later, this unbelieving king became an instrument of God, proving that not only does God keep His promises, He can use anyone to do so.

Isaiah 7:14

Could you imagine the confusion of Israel when they heard the prophecy concerning the promised Messiah being born from a virgin? I’m sure they wondered how it could come about. But we know with God nothing is impossible. And the virgin birth of Jesus shows that Lord is without sin, pure, and holy. For our great Immanuel, meaning God with us, was not born from any man, but is the begotten Son of God. He joyfully and willingly came to this earth to become the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world.
