August 28th – Jude 1:24

Jude 1:24

I remember going to the circus as a child, and waiting anxiously for my favorite performers, the tightrope walkers. The confidence they showed as they stepped out high above the crowd was awe inspiring. Of course they could do so because of the safety net below them waiting to catch their fall. Life is like a tightrope. Dangers lurk behind every corner with the intent of tripping us up. Not only do we have to watch out for sin, but we also need to be wary of false teachers spreading a false gospel. But thankfully, we too have a safety net. One who can keep us from stumbling, and His name is Jesus Christ. By spending time daily with the Lord and in His Word, we have the greatest safety harness of all. And with Jesus there watching our every move, we too can step out in confident joy knowing He is there to catch us when we fall!

July 23rd – Jude 1:3

Jude 1:3

Because of Jesus, we now have the freedom of living under grace instead of the Law. And better still, once we receive Christ as our Savior, no longer are we alone, trapped in darkness, and separated from God. Through Jesus, we become adopted heirs into His heavenly family. Part of a wonderful, spiritual community made up of fellow believers from around the world who accepted God’s gift of Salvation. A gift that has remained unchanged through time, and a gift offered to all who have great faith. A faith, Jude tells us, that we should “earnestly contend” for. How? Through disclosure, demonstration, and defense. We disclose the Word of God by sharing with others what Bible says. We demonstrate what it means to be a Christian through the way we in which we live our lives. And we defend God’s truth against all assaults outside or inside the body of Christ.

Honoring The Final Words Of The King – Mark 15-16

Mark 15-16

The story of the Crucifixion is a tough one. It’s gut wrenching what Jesus suffered at the hands of His captors. He endured savagery, mockery, and rejection. He was brutalized and spit upon. What He withstood we can barely comprehend. And He did so willingly. At any time more than twelve legions of angels were ready to rescue the Lord at a moments notice, (Matt. 26:53), yet Jesus bore His Cross to the end. He bore it for our salvation and to see the will of God done. …

June 19th – Jude 1:21

Jude 1:21

As the days grow closer to the Lord’s return, Jude warned that Christians need to closely guard our hearts. With the increase of false prophets, false doctrine, and the ridicule of our faith, it’s easy to see why Jude issued his warning. So how do protect ourselves from the attacks of the Enemy and the wickedness of the world? By keeping ourselves in the love of God. When we abide in Him, and He in us, are hearts become fully connected to the Lord, which no scheme of Satan can penetrate. And we are to follow the advice of the apostle Paul who tells us to each morning put on the full armor of God. (Eph. 6:11). For when we do, we can face each day wrapped in His divine protection as we wait in fervent hope for the mercy of our Lord and His soon return.
