Lamentations 3:25

Though we may not like it, waiting on God is a big part of our walk of faith. There may be many reasons why God calls us to wait.  Perhaps He’s trying to teach us patience. Maybe we need to learn to surrender completely to His will, or to trust in His perfect timing. Whatever the reason, waiting on God isn’t easy. And it also isn’t passive. We don’t sit around passing the time waiting until He acts on our behalf. Instead, while in God’s waiting room we praise and worship Him. We go about doing the tasks that He calls us to do. Our ears stay focused on listening to His still, small voice. And our hearts trust that He will do just as He has promised. All this we do in our quest to continually seek Him. Because God promises goodness for those who patiently and diligently wait for Him.

Lamentations 3:57

Jeremiah was called the weeping prophet because of his deep mourning over the destruction of Israel at the hands of the Babylonians. Yet though his heart was broken, never did he worry whether God was there in his time of need. And we never need fear God won’t be with us in ours as well. During times of suffering it can feel as if God has turned a deaf ear and blind eye to our misery. But the truth is when we’re hurting and afraid, the Lord is there. Lovingly He’s whispering the same words to us as He did to Jeremiah. “Do not fear!” When His children cry out to Him for help, never will God let those pleas go unanswered. We just need to trust completely in the Lord. Trusting His perfect response, in His perfect timing. For when we call out to our Heavenly Father, He will always draw near to us, His beloveds.

Lamentations 3:22-23

Everything in life has an expiration date, even us. But there is one thing that never dies. And that is the love God both feels and demonstrates to those He calls His own. It never waivers, never changes, and never leaves us. And because God is the Author of love, the perfect love He gives isn’t because of our goodness, but His. For we fail Him daily, and could never deserve the great devotion and affection our Father lavishes on us. Yet out of His great faithfulness, God’s mercies are new each morning. With the dawn of each day, He gives us a fresh supply of His love and compassion. And how thankful are we that no matter how many times we mess up, each morning brings with it a chance to start over. To do better than the day before. Knowing that even on the days where we get up on the wrong side of the bed, God doesn’t. He is there always, waiting to give to us His mercies!

Lamentations 3:40

The start of the new year is the perfect time to take stock in our relationship with God. Is it where it should be, a close, loving, personal relationship with the Lord? Or has it been on the back burner stunted by wrong things in our lives? Israel turned away from God, with devastating consequences. Yet when they sought to return to Him, God welcomed them back with open arms. And He longs to do the same with us. There is no more important relationship we have than the one we have with God. And when we turn to Him in love and repentance, He is faithful to to restore us back to Himself.

Lamentations 3:22

As fallen beings living in a fallen world, we make mistakes. But no matter how badly we mess up, when we confess and repent, God is faithful to forgive our sins. And regardless of the mistakes we made the day before, each morning God gives us the gift of a fresh start. In His love and grace, the Lord offers every dawn as a blank slate and a new opportunity. And although some days will be good while others bad, every day we get to spend on earth is a gift.  So each morning thank God for His faithfulness and say, “This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it! “
