John 15:16

It’s humbling to realize that Jesus chose us not because of anything we’ve done, but simply because of His great love. And out of that love, He appoints us to bear fruit that will last. Not the kind that fades with time or loses meaning when life shifts, but fruit that carries eternal impact. The world tells us to chase success, approval, and comfort. Yet all of that fades like autumn leaves. God calls us to something deeper. To live lives that leave an eternal legacy.

When we stay connected to Him, His presence overflows through us in ways that truly matter. In kindness that brings healing, faith that strengthens others, and love that draws hearts closer to Christ. We weren’t created to live small, forgettable lives, but to reflect God’s goodness wherever we go. Our legacy isn’t built on achievements or titles. It’s written in the lives touched and changed because we remained rooted in Him. And when our story is told, may it be said that we walked closely with Jesus and bore fruit that pointed others to Him. The kind of fruit that lasts forever.

Matthew 6:19-20

We live in a world swimming with debt. And because society urges us to accumulate material treasures, to strive for wealth, status, and possessions, many people live beyond their means. All with the intent of, “keeping up with the Jones’.” But Matthew tells us otherwise. He says as Christians we are called to value heavenly treasures over earthly possessions. The allure of gold and worldly riches is fleeting and vulnerable to decay and theft. But the treasures we store in heaven, are eternal and incorruptible. Acts of kindness, love, faith, and service are investments in our spiritual bank, yielding returns far greater than any earthly wealth. These heavenly treasures reflect the character of Christ and bring glory to God. And secure a legacy that outlasts our earthly existence. By prioritizing spiritual riches, we live with an eternal perspective, finding true fulfillment and purpose. This shift in values transforms our lives, freeing us from the relentless pursuit of material gain and aligning our hearts with God’s eternal kingdom.

Proverbs 8:32

“Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways.”

One of the most important things Solomon wanted to leave his children was a legacy of wisdom and discernment. Wisdom uses our life experiences and past consequences when making decisions. While discernment uses facts as we know them to judge whether something or someone is true and right. Both go hand in hand, and both are important in leading successful, victorious, Christian lives. Spiritual gifts given by God, when we follow the path of wisdom and discernment, we are more likely to avoid mistakes and make better choices. We save ourselves from a world of pain, heartache, and regret. Wisdom and discernment allow us to leads lives of integrity, love, and compassion. And they give us a testimony to share with others, so they too can avoid the pitfalls of wrong decisions. By following Solomon’s advice and walking in wisdom’s ways, we open ourselves to many blessings. Blessings including sound decision making, inner peace, and spiritual growth.

Proverbs 11:4

“Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.”

The one thing this world loves is wealth. And the more you have, the more you’re admired. But as the saying goes, “You can’t take it with you.” Jesus is returning soon. And on that glorious day, no amount of wealth can buy a place in the kingdom of heaven. For the admission was paid for by Jesus Christ, and only by accepting His free gift of salvation can we have eternal life. Our time on earth is running short. And the true measure of our worth lies not in what we possess, but what we leave behind. As Christians our legacy should one of love, kindness, and compassion towards others. The only true treasures worth having are those we store up in heaven. (Matt. 6:19-20) Treasures including loving others, sharing the gospel, good fruit, endurance, and faith. Better than gold, these treasures are imperishable and everlasting. And the greatest of them all, is the living hope we receive through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:3-4)
