February 8th – Jeremiah 31:3

Jeremiah 31:3

Life isn’t always sunny days and rose filled gardens. There are times that are brutal, life altering, and heart breaking. But even the blackest of nights can’t last forever. For the light of the dawn will always surely come. And for Christians, that Light is God and His endless love. A love that stands as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path to restoration and renewal. Even when circumstances seem bleak, God’s love is an ever-flowing stream. One ready to cleanse, revive, and transform our weary souls. Because as our Heavenly Father, His commitment to us extends beyond our shortcomings and struggles. His everlasting love and boundless kindness, carry an amazing power. Power to mend our brokenness, heal our wounds, and breathe new life into every shattered aspect of our being. So as we navigate dark days, may we cling to the assurance of Jeremiah 31:3. And find comfort in the unchanging and rejuvenating love of our Creator, who promises to uplift us in every season of life.

September 15th – Matthew 11:30

Matthew 11:30

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

In today’s fast-paced world, the relentless demands of life often leave us feeling weak and weary. The constant hustle and bustle, the pressure to meet expectations, and the pursuit of success can take a toll on our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It is in these moments of exhaustion that the words of Jesus in Matthew offer solace and guidance. “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” In these simple yet profound words, Jesus invites us to turn to Him. To find rest in His presence, and to cast our heavy burdens upon Him. He wants us to lay everything at His feet and yoke ourselves to His side. Because in the midst of life’s frantic pace, Jesus offers us a refuge. He’s our source of strength and renewal. And reminds us that true rest and rejuvenation are found in a deep and abiding relationship with Him. In the embrace of His love and grace, we discover the strength to navigate the challenges of this world. And a peace that transcends the relentless demands of our busy lives.

June 8th – Ezekiel 18:31-32

Ezekiel 18:31-32

Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!”

During the Jewish festival of Rosh Hashanah, a musical horn called a “shofar” is blown. And the sound is a wake-up call to “Teshuvah”. Teshuvah is the act of repenting and turning back to the Lord. To give up the destruction of sin and live! Of the many awesome attributes of God, one of the greatest is love. And no more is His love demonstrated than in His gift of repentance. From the beginning, it has always been God’s desire that we all practice “Teshuva” and receive His gift of forgiveness and restoration. His heart aches for the wicked to turn aside from the path of sin which leads to death, and back to Him and everlasting life. Repentance isn’t always easy, but through the power of Holy Spirit, doable. That means we have the ability to not only feel sorry for our sin but to turn aside from that sin. So wake up! The Day of the Lord is near! Blow the Shofar! Repent and Live!

March 20th – John 10:10

John 10:10

If the only gift we received by confessing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior was eternal life, that would be more than enough. But our God, so full of love and mercy, also gave His life so we could have the blessing of living an abundant life. Now the abundance of life that Jesus promises isn’t necessarily about material wealth or possessions, but rather about spiritual richness and fulfillment. It includes a deep and abiding relationship with God, as well as meaningful relationships with other people. An abundant life is also marked by a sense of purpose and meaning, as we are called to love and serve others. Using our gifts and talents to make a positive difference in the world. I love what Dr. Charles Stanley says, “To live the abundant Christian life is to allow Jesus to live His life through us. His love motivates and empowers us, so we obey Him out of joy and thankfulness.”

March 15th – Romans 8:6

Romans 8:6

Renewal begins with the mind. When our thoughts are focused on the things of the world, they lead us down a path of death and destruction. But when our thoughts are set on the Spirit, the path we follow is one leading to peace and life. All this fallen world can offer our souls is rebellion against God, for its ruler is Satan. But God offers us not just eternal life, but an abundant life (John 10:10), filled with His love, grace, mercy, and blessings. So each day put on a heavenly mindset, protect yourself from the world, and set your thoughts on the One who loves you the most!

October 30 – John 1:4

John 1:4

Jesus is life. He is the Fountain of life, the Sustainer of life, and the Source of life. And because of His great love for both us and the Father, He willingly left His place at the right hand of God to pay our sin debt with His precious blood. With His death and resurrection, Jesus forever conquered death and darkness. And when we receive Him into our hearts as our Savior, He gathers us into His life giving light. Never again will we be in darkness, for when Christ calls us His own, He shines brightly upon us for all eternity.
