October 29th- Malachi 3:10

Malachi 3:10

Normally it’s not the wisest idea to put God to the test. But when it comes to His generosity, He encourages us to do just that. To give back to Him our very best and see if He doesn’t open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings. So many blessings, God says there will be no room left to receive them. The lesson here is twofold. First, it emphasizes God’s limitless abundance and willingness to bless His faithful followers. Second, it underscores the importance of trust and obedience in our relationship with the Lord. By giving back a portion of our resources in faith, we acknowledge God’s abundant provision. And we learn that our acts of obedience can unlock His overflowing blessings in our lives. It teaches us the connection between trust, generosity, and the boundless abundance of God’s grace. So give and give some more. Give generously to God and others. Create a ripple effect of kindness and abundance. Sow seeds of love and goodness, and get ready to reap a harvest of God’s blessings.

January 23rd – Luke 1:25

Luke 1:25

Year after year Elizabeth and her husband prayed for a child. And year after year their prayers went unanswered. Yet as the years passed and the waiting continued, never did Elizabeth gave up on God or on her life serving Him. Instead she continued walking in obedience and trusting in whatever plans He had for her life. And as He so loves to do, God rewarded Elizabeth’s faithfulness. At the age of around 60, she became pregnant with a son. Not just any son, but the promised messenger of God. The one who would proclaim the soon to be born Messiah and prepare the way of the Lord! (Isaiah 40:3-5Malachi 3:1) Because of her great faith and obedience God not only blessed Elizabeth with a child, through her, He fulfilled a promise made to Israel hundreds of years before her birth. Isn’t that just like God! He loves to bestow upon His children blessings far greater than we could ever imagine!

July 16th – Malachi 4:2

Malachi 4:2

Because of its ability to efficiently kill germs, before antibiotics, sunlight was used to speed up the healing of wounds. Malachi warns us about the approaching “Day of the Lord”. A day in which everyone will feel the heat, but not everyone will receive the healing. Those who reject the life saving message and gift of salvation, will become ashes, tread under the feet of the saved. But for Christians, that day will be a glorious day of complete restoration and joy. For the “Sun of Righteousness”,  will arise. And as a bird spreads it’s wings, He will spread His rays of healing. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, will return to bind the wounds of His people and call them home. And the overwhelming joy that fills our hearts at the sight of our Savior, will cause us to frolic with the happiness of a caged animal set free!

December 20th – Malachi 3:1-6

Malachi 3:1-6

With Christmas in just a few days, everyone is busy with last minute preparations for the holiday. But more importantly than the tree, gifts, or food, is the preparation we make in our hearts for Jesus. Malachi refers to this preparation as refinement. Gold and silver go through fire to remove the impurities and become precious metals. And as followers of Jesus, we go through the fiery trials of life that shape us into the precious image of Christ. Yet unlike the Israelites who were preparing for Christ’s first coming, we are preparing ourselves for His glorious second coming. God fulfilled His promise of a Savior with the birth of Jesus Christ. And soon He fulfill His promise of Jesus’ return. And this time the babe lying in a manger will come as the conquering King of the world, who comes to reign perfect judgement and righteousness. Are you ready?
