Matthew 22: 37-39

In the shadow of the cross, we hear the heartbeat of Easter, love. When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, His answer was a simple one. Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love others as yourself. These weren’t just words; they were the very foundation of His mission. Because Jesus didn’t just preach love, He lived it, bled it, and died to prove it.

This Easter as we reflect on His sacrifice, we’re reminded that our highest calling isn’t performance or perfection. It’s love. Love that reaches up in worship and out in compassion. Love that forgives, serves, listens, and lays down pride. Do we truly love like Jesus loved us? Is our love for God the driving force behind our lives? Are we loving others in ways that reflect the cross? Easter isn’t just a celebration, it’s a commissioning. To live like the One who loved fully. To let our lives echo the greatest commandment. Because when love is our motive, our mission, and our message, everything changes.

April 4th – Luke 19:10

Luke 19:10

What a beautiful truth it is to know Jesus came for the lost. He didn’t wait for us to find Him, He came looking for us. For me, and for you. Jesus stepped into our brokenness, into our wandering hearts, and said, “You’re worth saving.” His mission was never general or distant, it was personal. He knew our names, our wounds, our stories, long before we ever called out to Him.

Jesus came for the woman who’s felt unseen. He came for the man who’s run too far, And He came for the one burdened by shame and guilt. Jesus came for every soul still searching, still hoping, still wondering if they’re lovable. The truth is we were lost, and Jesus came to find us. And even now, He’s still pursuing hearts. But here’s the question I’ve been asking myself lately. Am I truly seeking Jesus daily? Not just knowing about Him, but longing to know Him more? May we not just be found by Him, but follow Him with hearts that daily seek His face, His will, and His presence. Because Jesus came for us. And He still calls us to come to Him.

January 18th – Numbers 14:1

Numbers 14:1

There’s no two ways about it. Change is hard, messy, and painful. That’s why so many of us stay stuck where we are. Because often it’s easier to deal with demon you know, than the one you don’t. I think about the Israelites. They take a lot of flack from people who don’t understand why they didn’t enter the promised land running with excitement and yelling for joy. But put yourself in their shoes. The generation to enter Canaan was a protected one. For forty years all they knew was a life of peace and plenty under the care of God. Now they were being called to become mighty warriors in His army. To go from a people with a faith, to a people with a mission. A call given to us as well. God doesn’t want us to be stuck in mediocrity. Or to be content with merely having a lukewarm faith. He wants us to become people with a mission. To allow His loving grace to transform us into battle ready soldiers. Ones working for His kingdom and glory, spreading His message of love and eternal life to a desperate, and often hostile, world.

Colossians 4:18

“Remember my chains. Grace be with you.”

I often think how wonderful it would have been to be an apostle. To actually walk, talk, and live with Jesus. But the life of an apostle wasn’t easy, comfortable, or physically profitable. And more than just a few of the letters Paul wrote were written from prison. So if there’s anyone who understood deeply about suffering for your faith, it’s Paul. He endured many hardships and near death experiences due to his commitment to spreading the gospel of Christ. So when he asks the Colossians to remember his chains, he’s reminding all of us the cost of being devoted to Jesus. And how the road of a Christian is anything but easy. Yet no matter what he faced, Paul let nothing stand between him and following his God given calling. And neither should we. We too need to be just as committed as Paul to fulfilling our mission. To have the boldness, dedication, and perseverance of an apostle. And despite adversity, let nothing stand between us and completing the job personally given to us by our Lord and Savior.
