Morning

January 1st – Lamentations 3:22-23

Lamentations 3:22-23

I can scarcely believe that we are here welcoming in 2026! The first morning of the New Year has arrived! It was welcomed with joyful celebrations as the calendar turned, making everything feel new again. As followers of Jesus, the fresh start means yesterday’s worries don’t have to follow us into today. Because God meets us here, right at the beginning, with fresh mercy. Not recycled grace or leftovers from last year, but brand new compassion poured out because He is faithful. The slate is wiped clean. And not because we earned it, but because God’s love never runs out. This morning we may wake up carrying stories, scars, and memories, of the year past, but we also carry hope. Hope that this year doesn’t have to look like the last one. Hope that God is already at work in ways we can’t yet see. This first morning reminds us that we don’t have to have it all figured out. We simply have to take the next step with Him. For His mercies greet us before the sun fully rises, steadying our hearts as we begin again. And with Him, this blank page becomes a place of promise, trust, and quiet faith for the days ahead. Happy New Year!

Reflection Question:
As you step into this new year, what is one worry, regret, or expectation from last year that you need to place into God’s hands and trust Him to renew with His mercy?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for meeting me on this first morning with fresh mercy. Help me release what is behind me and trust You with what lies ahead. Teach me to walk into this new year one step at a time, resting in Your faithfulness and grace. Amen.

November 6th – Isaiah 40:31

Isaiah 40:31

I read a quote that said, “If you want to be reminded of the love of the Lord, just watch the sunrise.”  There’s something beautiful about watching the sunrise after a long, weary night. The darkness slowly gives way to light, and hope begins to break through the horizon. In that quiet moment, we’re reminded of God’s promise in Isaiah 40:31, that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. Just as the sun rises faithfully every morning, so does God’s mercy and power in our lives. We may feel tired, worn, or ready to give up, but He breathes new life into our weary hearts. He gives us strength to keep walking, to keep trusting, and to keep believing that His timing is perfect. Waiting isn’t wasted time; it’s where God transforms us. When we lean into Him, we learn to soar above our struggles, to run with endurance, and to walk in peace. Each morning brings another chance to trust Him anew. To exchange our weakness for His strength. And in that sacred exchange, hope rises again.

Prayer Prompt: Lord, when I feel weary and worn, help me to wait on You. Renew my strength today and teach me to soar on wings of faith.

April 15th – 1 John 1:7

1 John 1:7

I love the quote by Dodi  Smith which says, “I suppose the best kind of spring morning is the best weather God has to offer.” There’s nothing better than a spring dawn overflowing with sunshine. So as the days grow longer and the light shines brighter, let us heed the call of John to walk in the light of Christ. For it’s in His radiance, we find guidance, clarity, and the path to righteousness. May we embrace His divine light, allowing it to permeate every aspect of our lives. In fellowship with one another, let us share in the warmth of His love, strengthening and uplifting each other along the journey. And let us recognize the profound sacrifice of Jesus, as His blood cleanses us from all sin. Because it’s through His redemptive act that we find restoration, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life. As we bask in the light of His grace, may our hearts be filled with gratitude and our spirits renewed with hope. Let us walk confidently in His light, knowing that in Him, we find true freedom and everlasting peace.

January 1st – Lamentations 3:22-23

Lamentations 3:22-23

Good morning 2024! A new dawn, and a new day! A fresh, blank page awaiting the ink of our intentions and the brushstrokes of our aspirations. It whispers promises of fresh possibilities and the beauty of new beginnings. And if you’re at all like me, it also brings new resolutions. Goals and promises made for the months ahead. Yet whether those goals are fleeting or brought to fruition, we can find comfort in knowing each new morning also brings the promise of God’s mercies. For His love never ceases, and great is His faithfulness. As we stand at the threshold of new beginnings, God’s promise serves as a beacon of hope, admonishing us that each dawn brings with it a fresh outpouring of divine grace. Reminding us that even when we aren’t faithful, God is. Faithful with opportunities, possibilities, and second chances that come with each new morning. So no matter what the year ahead holds, God’s love will be there for every moment, offering renewal, redemption, and the enduring promise of new beginnings. Happy New Year!

January 6th – Lamentations 3:22

Lamentations 3:22

As fallen beings living in a fallen world, we make mistakes. But no matter how badly we mess up, when we confess and repent, God is faithful to forgive our sins. And regardless of the mistakes we made the day before, each morning God gives us the gift of a fresh start. In His love and grace, the Lord offers every dawn as a blank slate and a new opportunity. And although some days will be good while others bad, every day we get to spend on earth is a gift.  So each morning thank God for His faithfulness and say, “This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it! “
