Matthew 5:9

Actively pursuing peace is a characteristic of God’s children. Because they demonstrate the harmony and love that Jesus came to bring into the world. But being a peacemaker involves more than just avoiding conflict. It requires courage, empathy, and a deep commitment to understanding and resolving differences. We can be examples of the peace of Jesus by practicing forgiveness, extending grace, and seeking reconciliation in our relationships. This peace is not passive but active, pushing us to bridge gaps, mend broken bonds, and create environments where love and respect flourish. By advocating for peace throughout the world we become agents of God’s transformative power, showing that true peace stems from His love. As peacemakers, we align our actions with Jesus’ teachings, and mirror His heart. That’s why it’s a blessing to always strive for peace. For it aligns us with God’s divine purpose and reveals us as His children, committed to spreading the peace of Jesus wherever we go.

In Jesus, the barriers of cultural, religious, and social divisions are torn down, forming one family where we all are equal. This unity transcends historical enemies and prejudices, showing that in Jesus we are all brothers and sisters, regardless of our backgrounds. The Cross is the cornerstone that unites us, making peace possible. And not just as an ideal but as a lived reality. Through Christ’s work, we are no longer strangers or foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s family. This profound reconciliation redefines our relationships, with love and mutual respect as foundational principles. The unity forged in Jesus’ peace calls us to embrace one another, reflecting His grace in our lives and extending His peace to the world. How wonderful is it that through Jesus, peoples from around the world are united into one family, bonded by His love and the peace He brings.

Romans 12:18

Eleanor Roosevelt said, “It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.” Living in peace with others involves humility, patience, and a willingness to understand and forgive. It calls us to try and bridge divides through kindness and compassion, reflecting the love of Christ. But what do we do when peace can’t be achieved due to factors beyond our control? In such cases, the scripture advises us to continue displaying grace and to avoid escalating conflicts. To trust that our commitment to peace honors God even when it doesn’t yield immediate results. This approach doesn’t mean compromising our values but rather maintaining a heart of love and respect, even in the face of opposition. It teaches us to leave unresolved issues in God’s hands, knowing that we have done our part to live peacefully. Allowing us to diligently seek peace, while also accepting that ultimate harmony sometimes rests beyond our best efforts.

One that that eradicates the darkness of despair. As sorrow and sighing flee in the wake of this overwhelming joy we are left transformed, our spirits lifted, our hearts unburdened. This promised joy is a beacon of hope. It illuminates our path and guides us through life’s trials, anchoring us in a profound sense of peace and fulfillment. Everlasting joy celebrates our redemption, our return to a state of grace and wholeness, where pain and suffering have no hold. And is instead replaced by the enduring gladness that flows from God.

The Spirit fills our hearts with divine joy that endures beyond our circumstances, and infuses us with hope, encouraging us to trust in God’s promises. The Spirit’s role includes guiding us into all truth, comforting us in our distress, and interceding on our behalf with groans too deep for words. As we yield to the Spirit’s leading, we become more attuned to God’s will, equipped to live out our faith authentically. After David had sinned greatly against God he pleaded to the Lord, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation.” A plea capturing the overwhelming joy that stems from knowing we are saved by God’s grace. This joy is a deep, abiding sense of peace and happiness, rooted in the assurance of our salvation and the unmerited favor we receive through Jesus’ sacrifice. This joy enables us to face trials knowing that God is working all things together for our good. It shifts our focus from our problems to God’s power and His ability to bring beauty from ashes. Jesus gives us a beautiful promise. He is busy right now, preparing a place for us in His Father’s house. This promise fills us with hope and joyful anticipation, knowing that one day He will return to take us to our eternal home. Each room in this divine dwelling is handcrafted by our Savior Himself, reflecting His boundless love and care for us. As we go about our daily lives, we are called to live with this joyous expectation, letting it shape our thoughts and actions. The reality of our future home with Jesus gives us strength to endure trials and inspires us to spread His love and grace. We can look forward to a day when pain and sorrow will be no more, and we will dwell in perfect peace and joy with our Lord. This heavenly moving day will be the moment when all of God’s promises are fulfilled. Until then, we live with hearts full of hope, eagerly awaiting the return of our Savior. The Lord’s return is so close, that many have shifted their focus from seeking signs to listening for the trumpet call of God. This celestial sound will herald the arrival of our Savior, Jesus Christ. And it will be accompanied by the commanding voice of an archangel summoning, “Come up here!” Imagine the sheer wonder and glory of that moment, when the heavens will resonate like a divine symphony. It will be a sound like no other, filled with the promises of eternal peace, happiness and fellowship with our Lord. The anticipation fills our hearts with joy and hope, knowing that the trials of this world will soon give way to the glory awaiting us in heaven. The sound of that trumpet will be the ultimate affirmation of our faith. The culmination of all we have believed and hoped for. It will be a transformative moment, as we are gathered to meet the Lord in the air, forever to be with Him. What a glorious sound it will be, echoing through the cosmos, as a divine invitation to eternal glory.
