Pentecost

April 24th – Acts 2:1-4

Acts 2:1-4

The disciples were waiting just as Jesus told them. Hearts full of hope, hands lifted in prayer, their eyes searched the skies. Then suddenly, Heaven touched Earth. A sound like rushing wind filled the room, and what seemed like tongues of fire rested on each of them. In Acts 2:1–4, the promise of power became a reality. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave now filled His followers. Easter didn’t just end with an empty tomb. It continued with an empowered people. The Holy Spirit came not just to comfort, but to equip. To ignite hearts. To send ordinary men and women into the world with extraordinary boldness. That same Spirit still moves in us today. He gives us words when we feel weak. Strength when we are tired. Courage when fear tries to settle in. Easter is not just a story we remember. Instead, it’s a power we carry. So what are we waiting for? Let’s go, filled with the fire of Heaven and the message of resurrection hope. Let’s share the saving message of the Good News found in Christ alone!

March 12th – John 14:26

John 14:26

Pentecost is a significant Christian festival commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and other followers of Jesus. It marks the birth of the Christian Church and is celebrated with joy and gratitude for our great Advocate, whom the Father sent in His name. The significance of Pentecost lies in the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of every believer. The moment we receive Jesus as our Savior, God’s Spirit takes up residence inside us. And immediately He begins His work of guiding, empowering, and shaping us into the beautiful likeness of Jesus. Through Him we have  all we need to fulfill the call of Christ in our lives. As we reflect on this promise, let us seek a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, asking God to equip us to live lives that honor Him. May the presence of the Holy Spirit in us be evident through our words, actions, and deeds, as we strive to be faithful witnesses of Christ’s love and grace to the world around us.

January 29th – Acts 2:4

Acts 2:4

In the current climate, there is more than enough hate to go around. And it’s easy to get caught up in the anger and turmoil of the day. But as the church, as Jesus’ representatives on earth, shouldn’t we strive to do better? To be better? Shouldn’t we want to get back to the same rejoicing, generosity, togetherness, and worship demonstrated by the early church? Shouldn’t we have hearts which share God’s will to be beacons of light in a dark world? If that is indeed our will, the Holy Spirit is the way. For the more we walk in His power, the more the fruit of the Spirit becomes evident in our lives. So lets get back to being the church the Lord established on that glorious Day of Pentecost. May each of us, out of love and joy, let the fruit of the Spirit flow abundantly through us to others. And may the Lord’s church be so powerful a witness that Jesus can add to the number daily, “those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:47)
