Perfection

May 8th – Ephesians 2:8

Ephesians 2:8

Grace isn’t a reward for good behavior. It’s a gift for the weary, the wandering, and the worst of us. We spend so much of life trying to prove we’re enough, earning approval, chasing worth, and checking boxes. But then comes Jesus, arms wide open, saying, “You don’t have to earn this. I already did.” Ephesians 2:8 reminds us that it’s by grace we’ve been saved. Salvation comes through faith. Not by our effort, performance, or perfection. That means no more striving, no more measuring up. Just receiving. That’s hard for a world that applauds hustle and perfection. But grace flips the script. It meets us in the middle of our mess and says, “You are still loved.” If you’ve been trying to “do better” to get closer to God, take a deep breath. He’s already close. His grace is not a ladder to climb but a gift to open. Today, thank Him for loving you not because you’re flawless, but because you’re His. That’s amazing grace.

June 16th – Romans 5:1

Romans 5:1

How wonderfully freeing it is to know we are made right with God through our belief in Jesus Christ, not by our own efforts. Like a weight being lifted from our shoulders, this justification brings us great peace. It transforms our relationship with God from one of distance, to intimate harmony. To be justified by faith is to trust fully in God’s grace and the redemptive work of Christ, acknowledging that nothing we can do on our own can secure this reconciliation. It’s an assurance that despite our flaws, weaknesses, and mistakes, we are accepted and loved by our Heavenly Father. Giving us a deep and abiding peace. A peace which calms our anxieties and fears, rooting us in the certainty of God’s unwavering love and forgiveness. Through this justification, we experience freedom from the burden of guilt and the constant striving for perfection. Allowing us to rest in God’s grace. Justification by faith alone opens the door to a life of serenity, joy, and a secure future with God.

December 30th – Revelation 21:1

Revelation 21:1

In the last chapters of Revelation, John reveals what is known as the “eternal state”, or the eternal destiny of believers. And the picture he paints is one of such peace, joy, and love, that I too can’t help but cry, “Maranatha!” Come Lord Jesus! John tells us the world we know, with all of its filth and pollution, is burned away by God. He creates a new heaven and a new earth, “in which righteousness dwells.” This new earth will be restored to the beauty and perfection that God originally created before the fall of man. And on this new earth, we will spend eternity with the Lord. Upon this new earth, we will live in the glorious city of the new Jerusalem. It will be a city with a foundation of precious stones, gates of giant pearls, and streets of pure gold. A city where the spectacular Shekinah glory of God will be illuminating every inch! There, where God establishes His throne, we will be with the Father and the Son forever, serving and glorifying Him in all we do!
