Precious To God

August 24th – Colossians 3:3

Colossians  3:3

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”

I am always blown away by God’s amazing grace. Even though I fail Him daily, He still loves me, wants me, and calls me His own. And when the world tells me otherwise, God tells me I am His valued treasure. For every one of His children are the jewels in God’s treasure chest. Each one uniquely precious, carefully crafted, and irreplaceably valued in His eyes. And just as a precious treasure is securely tucked away for safekeeping, our identities, hopes, and destinies are safeguarded within the embrace of Christ. What a beautiful picture of the close relationship we have with the Lord. This hiddenness in Christ offers a profound sense of security, as we find refuge from the storms of life in Jesus. And as we navigate through life, we can draw strength from the assurance that our true selves are known and cherished by our Savior. Our lives, enveloped in the mystery of Christ, are infused with purpose and hope, reminding us that our ultimate fulfillment is found in Him alone.

November 29th – Luke 12:7

Luke 12:7

Although it varies by both the individual and the color, a person averages around 100,00 hairs on their head at one time. That’s a lot of hairs to count, yet God knows the exact number each person has. Why? Because with His hands, He created every individual specifically according to His purpose and plans. And to Him, we are of great value. He loves us unconditionally, perfectly, and without end. As His beloved children, our Father in heaven cares about every part of our lives. God is deeply devoted to everything He makes, especially us, because we were created in His image. The Lord knows us intimately. Better than we even know ourselves. He knows our our good and bad, our problems and victories, and our joy and pain. And He collects every tear we shed in His bottle. (Ps. 56:8) How thankful are we that even if the whole world rejects us, God never will. For He loves us like no other!

May 29th – Psalm 17:8

Psalm 17:8

The term “apple of my eye” is used many times throughout the Bible. The English word for “apple” in Hebrew is “little man”, meaning the reflection we see when looking into another’s eyes. It wasn’t until later that the phrase was used to describe something precious. Yet precious is just how God sees us, and those who abide in Him are indeed the apples of His eyes. Because God delights in His people who walk with Him in loving obedience. We are His treasures, and He cares about every detail of our lives. And just as a mama bird shelters her young under her wings, God is our protection and refuge from the storms of life.
