Prophet

April 3rd – John 1:29

John 1:29

Could you imagine standing in that crowd, hearing John announce the arrival of Jesus? Christ wasn’t just another teacher or prophet. He was the sacrifice, the fulfillment of every promise, and the answer to every longing. From the moment sin entered the world, we were separated from God, lost and unable to save ourselves. But God, in His great mercy, sent Jesus the perfect Lamb, to take our place. On the Cross, He bore our shame, our guilt, and our punishment. And when He declared, “It is finished,” the weight of our sin was lifted forever. Easter is more than a holiday. It’s our rescue story. It’s the reminder that we don’t have to carry our past, failures, or our burdens anymore. The Lamb of God has already taken them. Because of Jesus, grace wins. Because of Jesus, we are free. This Easter, let’s stand in awe of the One who gave everything to bring us back to God. Thank You, Jesus, for being the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world, including mine.

August 24th – Micah 3:8

Micah 3:8

Micah was a prophet called to  deliver God’s message of judgement against Israel. Kindness and goodness were in short supply at the time. And corruption and abuse had become the practices of the day. Especially when it came to rich versus poor. Sound familiar? We serve a holy and righteous God. One who won’t forever turn a blind eye to wickedness. And the warning Micah gave Israel of God’s approaching consequences, he also gives to us. Practice justice or face the consequences. The Lord is just, and He expects the same from His people. Being just means in all His ways God is fair, impartial, dealing justice according to His righteousness. Neither can He be bought nor bribed. His Word is true, and His decisions final. (Duet. 32:4) And the justice He wields, He tempers with love and grace. And it’s that kind of justice He expects us pass on to others.

December 5th – Deuteronomy 18:15-19

Deuteronomy 18:15-19

Moses told the people he wouldn’t be following them into the promised land. This made the Israelites afraid and confused. Because Moses had been their everything. He was their leader, spiritual guide, prophet, and savior. But Moses told the people they needn’t fear. For God was going to send the true Savior. And not just for Israel, but for the entire world. A prophet even greater than Moses, He would be raised up by God, come from among the Israelites, and be worthy of being heard and obeyed. And the only One who met all the criteria was God Himself. The only begotten Son of God, Jesus is our great Prophet who came to deliver the world just as Moses delivered the Israelites. And through His birth in the little city of Bethlehem, He did just that. Providing all who believe unto Him the best Christmas gift of all, eternal life!

A Just God Demands Justice – Micah 1:1-4:13

Micah 1:1-4:13

Micah was a prophet called from his hometown of Moresheth to deliver God’s message of judgement against Israel. Corruption and abuse had become the practices of the rich and powerful against the poor. And Micah warned the people of God’s approaching consequences against those oppressing others for their own personal gain. For the Lord is holy and righteous, and He expects the same from His people. And a just God demands justice. …
