January 14th – Psalm 20:4

Psalm 20:4

David was a king who loved his people. And out of that love he prayed that God would grant them the desires of their hearts and fulfill the plans He had for them. We too need to be praying for one another. For we each have hopes, dreams, and goals. And out of a Christlike love, we should be praying that God would fulfill both the desires and His purpose for all, and rejoice when those prayers are answered. Because praying for each other is a privilege and one that God wants us to exercise often in both love and togetherness.

January 12th – Psalm 65:11

Psalm 65:11

With so much division in the world and so many hurting, it can be hard to be optimistic about the year ahead. But as Christians we don’t place our hope in the world, our hope is found in Jesus. For no matter the world events, the changing seasons, or plans of the Enemy, God has crowned the year with His goodness and abundance! That means whatever this world throws at us, we can be filled with hope and confidence. Hope in the promises of God, and confidence that in His love and goodness, He will not only meet our needs, but do so graciously and abundantly!

December 26th – Psalm 96:11

Psalm 96:11

Everything in creation cries out in worship to God’s glory, splendor, and majesty. The heavens, earth, sea, fields, and even the trees, sing to the Lord a new song. For one day God will restore everything His hands have made to its original perfection. From the beginning, God has had His master plan in motion. And with the birth of Jesus Christ, that plan was made real before all mankind. In His amazing love, God planned to once and for all destroy evil and reconcile everything back to Himself, our great Creator!

November 28th – Psalm 50:14

Psalm 50:14

Any true and good thing we have in our lives is a gift from God. And while it’s important to thank Him with our lips, what the Lord really wants is to see our gratitude in action. He wants us to become living sacrifices of thanksgiving. How? By walking in truth, love, grace, and mercy. We are Christ’s ambassadors on earth, and from hearts overflowing with gratitude, the same blessings He so generously gives to us, we should be showing to others. Jesus willingly became a sacrifice for us, shouldn’t we joyfully do the same in return?

When the Israelites entered the gates to the temple of God, they sang joyful songs of praise and thankfulness. The gratitude they felt from belonging to the Lord, filled their hearts with gladness. Now, because of Jesus, God’s temple is open to all. And we too can enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. November 11th – Psalm 107:8

Psalm 107:8

How wonderful is our God! He truly is our Father! As His beloved children, God provides and cares for our every need. And not just our physical needs, but also our heart and soul. He gives us nourishment, refreshment, healing, and guidance. From the great to the small, God cares about every area of our lives. And just like He rescued and made Israel His own, God longs to do the same for us and, “supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:19) Oh how thankful I am for His love and to Him goes the glory forever and ever!

November 7th – Psalm 30:11

Psalm 30:11

Afflictions and suffering are part of living in a fallen world. And even though we may not understand why we go through the hardships we do, we can absolutely trust in our Father. For God promises to make, “all things to work together for good”. (Rom. 8:28) And we can rejoice in knowing that the storms in our life are under God’s control and will only last as long as He commands. Better still, when we come out the other side, our mourning will be turned into dancing, and our sorrow into gladness!

November 2nd – Psalm 9:1

Psalm 9:1

Have you ever taken the time to thank God? I mean really thank God? Each night as part of my nightly prayer, I would absentmindedly thank Him for the blessings of the day. And far from being sincere, my gratefulness had become nothing more than routine. But when I truly understood that from the moment I wake, until I go to sleep at night, and each moment in between, is a beautiful blessing from God, my heart overflowed with thankfulness. For each day is truly a gift from above.
