October 13th – Titus 2:13

Titus 2:13

Hope is the quiet strength that keeps our hearts steady when the world feels unsteady. Oh, not the worldly kind that fades when circumstances shift, but the living hope that looks toward the day our Savior, Jesus Christ, will appear. Living in this fallen world can be weary on our souls. And tired of the wait we cry out, “Maranatha! come, Lord Jesus!” But thankfully, our blessed hope isn’t some faraway dream. It’s the anchor that keeps our hearts secure when storms surround us. Each sunrise reminds us that God’s promises are still unfolding, His timing is still perfect, and His love is still holding us fast. So we live with eyes lifted, knowing that one day every sorrow will be silenced and every tear wiped away. Until that day, hope teaches us to endure patiently, love deeply, and walk faithfully. Waiting doesn’t weaken us, it refines us. It molds us into people whose peace is found not in what we see, but in who we know is coming. And that living hope dear friend, makes every moment we wait, sacred.

May 31st – Luke 18:8

Luke 18:8

Here in Luke Jesus poses a poignant question, wondering if He will find faith on the earth when He returns. This question underscores the lifelong journey of faith each believer undertakes. A path inevitably touched by pain and suffering. Suffering is a universal experience, and while it can lead some to lose faith, it holds a deeper purpose in our spiritual growth. No one wants to hurt, but pain can refine and strengthen us. It can build resilience and deepen our dependence on God. Through trials, our faith is tested and purified, much like gold in a furnace. As we endure and overcome, our trust in God’s promises deepens, and our spiritual maturity flourishes. Each hardship is an opportunity to draw closer to God, to lean on His strength when ours falters. And it’s through these very challenges that our faith is proven genuine and true. So that when Jesus returns, He will find us steadfast. Our faith unshaken by the trials we’ve faced, stronger and more radiant for  having walked through the fire with Him.

October 31st – James 1:12

James 1:12

God’s Promise – “I promise a crown of life to all who love Me despite their trials.”

No one is exempt from the trials of life. And although painful, James tells there is much to be gained from weathering the storm. For as a Roman philosopher once said, “A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.” In 1 Peter 2:4, Jesus is called a, “living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God.” We too are choice and precious stones to God. He lovingly refines and purifies us until we are smoothed by faith and polished by perseverance. The process at times may be painful. But to those who endure to the end, James promises a great reward; the crown of life. A beautiful crown reserved for all who love God and receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. Life can be hard. But knowing we will be spending eternity in paradise with the Lord, is all the incentive we need to persevere through every trial!
