Week 3 – Wisdom In Community (Hebrews 10:24-25)

In Hebrews the apostle Paul reminds us of the critical importance of fellowship, especially as the return of Christ draws nearer. In a world that often pushes isolation, we are called to come together as the body of Christ. And not only to worship, but to encourage and build one another up. Because isolation can lead to discouragement and loneliness. Yet in fellowship we find strength, accountability, and love. Coming together with fellow believers allows us to stir one another up to love and good works. And it helps us stay focused on our mission as Christians. We need each other to walk this journey of faith, to offer support, prayer, and a reminder of God’s promises. As the world grows darker and challenges increase, we can’t afford to face them alone. The church is a source of hope, a family where we are uplifted, corrected in love, and motivated to persevere. So let’s not give up meeting together, but cherish every opportunity to encourage one another as we await the glorious return of our Savior.

Week 3 – Wisdom In Friendship (Proverbs 17:17)

It’s a proven fact. People need people. And king Solomon teaches us the value of godly friendships, by reminding us that a true friend loves at all times and is like a brother born for adversity. In a world that often promotes selfishness and shallow connections, godly friendships stand apart as a source of strength, comfort, and encouragement. Having friends who walk with the Lord helps us stay accountable, grow in faith, and face life’s challenges with courage. A wise person surrounds themselves with those who reflect God’s love. People seeking to build each other up rather than tear each other down. Nurturing these relationships requires intentionality. That means praying for one another, sharing burdens, and offering words of encouragement rooted in Scripture. When we uplift others, we reflect the heart of Christ, who calls us to bear one another’s burdens and rejoice with those who rejoice. True godly friendships are a gift that requires care, wisdom, and love, helping us grow in our walk with God.

The apostle Paul offers timeless wisdom for relationships, particularly between husbands and wives. He instructs husbands to love their wives as they love themselves, and for wives to respect their husbands. This mutual care and devotion form the foundation of a healthy and God-centered relationship. Love, as Paul describes it, is not just a feeling, but a choice to honor and serve one another daily. It’s a selfless love that mirrors Christ’s love for the Church. One that sacrifices, nurtures, and uplifts. Respect, on the other hand, fosters trust and appreciation, creating an environment where love can thrive. When both partners embrace these principles, they cultivate a relationship that reflects God’s design for unity and harmony. We live in a world where love can be conditional and fleeting. That’s why Paul’s call to love and respect offers a steady, enduring guide. Applying this wisdom not only strengthens marriages but also radiates God’s love to others through our example.

He reminds us that every moment is a gift, and each opportunity holds significance. In a world filled with sin and distractions, it’s easy to just drift through life. But as followers of Jesus, we’re called to live intentionally. To make the most of every chance we’re given. Time is precious, and opportunities may come and go swiftly. By seeking God’s wisdom, we can navigate life’s decisions with clarity, ensuring that our actions align with His will. When we’re mindful of our time and choices, we not only honor God but also maximize our potential to impact those around us for good. Whether in our relationships, work, or personal growth, being purposeful in how we spend our days allows us to make a lasting difference. Week 1 – Wisdom In Relationships (Proverbs 13:20)

When we were young, our parents often warned us about the company we kept. They would recite the old saying, “If you lay down with dogs, you’ll get fleas.” In Proverbs 13:20, Solomon echoes this wisdom. He teaches that those who walk with the wise grow wise. But those who associate with fools suffer harm. He tells us that living with such wisdom brings peace and blessings. And reminds us that this wisdom isn’t only about avoiding negative influences. It’s also about seeking out those who will walk beside us in faith, sharpening one another in God’s truth and love. The people we surround ourselves with have a powerful influence on our choices and character. When we choose friends who live according to God’s Word, we develop relationships built on mutual respect, love, and accountability. True friendships that encourage us to make wise decisions, helping us avoid the pitfalls of regret and poor judgment. And walking together in Jesus, these friendships allow us to uplift each other in our spiritual journeys.

Love is the very foundation of the Gospel. It is the essence of who God is and the driving force behind His plan for redemption. In 1 John 4:7-12, we see how deeply love is intertwined with our faith. God’s love was so profound that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the ultimate price for our sins. This act of sacrificial love is the cornerstone of our salvation, demonstrating the depth of God’s love for us. If we claim to follow Jesus, yet fail to love others as He did, we must question the authenticity of our faith. True faith in Christ is reflected in how we love, for love is the evidence of God’s presence in our lives. If God’s love truly abides in us, it will naturally flow out in our actions, words, and relationships. To love like Jesus is not just a suggestion, it’s a commandment that defines our identity as His followers. When we love others, we are fulfilling God’s will and demonstrating that His love has indeed transformed our hearts. Without love, our faith is hollow, but with love, we embody the very heart of the Gospel.

Week 3 – Embracing Renewal (Colossians 3:9-10)

Bible teacher A.W. Pink once said,” An honest heart seeks to please God in all things and offend Him in none.” As Christians, we are now one big family, united by our faith in Christ. This means we should treat each other with the love, care, and respect that family deserves. And a key aspect of this is always speaking the truth to one another in love. In Colossians 3:9-10, Paul emphasizes that believers should not lie to each other. Why?  Because our new identity in Christ demands honesty. When we put our trust in Christ, we become new people who have died to sin and been made alive in Him. Our goal is to live a Christ-like life, reflecting His character in all we do. Lying to one another is inconsistent with this new identity. And it undermines the trust and unity that should define us as a family in Christ. Paul’s reasoning is grounded in the highest authority, Jesus Himself, who is truth. As members of God’s family, we are called to live out this truth in our relationships, building one another up with honesty, integrity, and love.

This divine hope is not just a fleeting feeling but a steadfast assurance rooted in God’s promises and His presence in our lives. By leaning into our faith and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, we can experience a hope that overflows. And one that sustains us through every trial. In a world that often feels overwhelming, God’s hope, joy, and peace provide the foundation we need to keep moving forward with confidence and grace.

Humility encourages us to set aside our pride. To recognize our own flaws and value others above ourselves, opening the door to genuine understanding and compassion. Patience complements humility, giving us the strength to endure imperfections and differences in others without frustration. This combination allows us to support one another through challenges and conflicts, just as Christ bears with our flaws and shortcomings. By bearing with each other in love, we mirror the steadfast love Jesus shows us daily. Especially when we choose to forgive and support rather than judge or give up on. This approach allows us to cultivate unity within the body of Christ, as we grow together in faith and maturity. Practicing humility and patience helps us to build deep, resilient relationships grounded in mutual respect and love. And enables us to become living examples of Christ’s love and patience, building a more compassionate and unified world.

By living in peace and seeking holiness, we embody the Spirit’s transformative work in our lives. Resulting in a radiant joy that reflects God’s love and grace. This joy becomes evident to those around us, drawing others toward the source of our inner tranquility.
