Repent

July 28th – 1 John 2:6

1 John 2:6

None of us is perfect, and God doesn’t expect us to be. He knows our weaknesses, our failures, and the battles we face every day. But while God doesn’t call us to perfection, He does call us to pursue Christ. Because if we say we belong to Jesus, our lives should increasingly reflect His character.

Walking like Jesus doesn’t mean we will never stumble. It means that when we do, we confess, repent, get back up, and keep following Him. It means choosing humility over pride, forgiveness over bitterness, kindness over anger, and obedience over compromise. As we spend time abiding in Christ, His Spirit gradually transforms us from the inside out.

Our relationship with Jesus should be more than words we speak on Sunday. It should be evident in the way we live, the way we love, and the way we treat others every day. Anyone can claim to know Christ, but a life that consistently grows in obedience, compassion, and love is the evidence that He truly lives within us.

We will never walk perfectly this side of heaven, but by God’s grace, we can walk faithfully. And every step taken in obedience brings us one step closer to becoming more like the Savior we love.

March 26th – Psalm 15:1

Psalm 15:1

If the list of requirements to dwell with God forever sound impossible, it’s because it’s supposed to be. For we can’t truly realize our need for Jesus until we understand how far we have fallen short of God’s holiness. Christ is the only one who can cleanse us and prepare us to dwell in His house forever. And thankfully, we have the blessing of receiving His gift of pardon. All we must do is confess our sins and repent. What does it mean to repent? It means to turn aside from our wickedness and sin. Walking away from the things the flesh desires and walking with Jesus. Because in all the world there was only One whose walk was utterly blameless. Only One who always did what was righteous. That person was the Lord Jesus Christ. And when we abide in Him and in His strength, we can find victory in our lives.  No matter what life throws at us, we will never be shaken and can have confidence that one day we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
