Serenity

June 21st – Psalm 4:8

Psalm 4:8

In today’s world sleep aids are a booming industry. Countless people are relying on pills, devices, and remedies to combat insomnia and restless nights. However Psalm 4:8 offers a timeless, cost-free solution. The peace found in God. This promise reassures believers that, despite the pressures and anxieties of life, true rest and serenity come from trusting in God’s protection and care. Unlike commercial sleep aids that offer temporary relief, the peace of God provides a lasting sense of security. This allows us to surrender our worries and fears as we lay our heads to rest. God’s divine peace quiets our minds and calms our hearts, leading to restful sleep that no medication can match. For Christians, the knowledge that the Lord watches over us brings a profound comfort, replacing sleepless nights with tranquility. So while the world struggles for sleep, believers can find genuine and enduring peace in the embrace of God’s love. The true source of deep and peaceful sleep.

June 16th – Romans 5:1

Romans 5:1

How wonderfully freeing it is to know we are made right with God through our belief in Jesus Christ, not by our own efforts. Like a weight being lifted from our shoulders, this justification brings us great peace. It transforms our relationship with God from one of distance, to intimate harmony. To be justified by faith is to trust fully in God’s grace and the redemptive work of Christ, acknowledging that nothing we can do on our own can secure this reconciliation. It’s an assurance that despite our flaws, weaknesses, and mistakes, we are accepted and loved by our Heavenly Father. Giving us a deep and abiding peace. A peace which calms our anxieties and fears, rooting us in the certainty of God’s unwavering love and forgiveness. Through this justification, we experience freedom from the burden of guilt and the constant striving for perfection. Allowing us to rest in God’s grace. Justification by faith alone opens the door to a life of serenity, joy, and a secure future with God.

April 28th – Matthew 6:28

Matthew 6:28

Oh to be like the lily of the field. Clothed in beauty by the Creator’s hand, and spending the day swaying in the spring breeze without a care in the world. Although we know we will face difficulty in this life, we never have to face them alone. God invites us to turn over our worry and burdens to Him. Trusting that His grace, which unfurls like the petals of a flower, will nurture our needs before they even arise. He wants us to stop wasting our time fretting over tomorrow, worrying who will provide for us. Because our Almighty God is in complete control, and orchestrates every dawn with tender precision. So just as spring surrenders to the rhythm of growth ordained by heaven, let us we surrender our cares. And instead embrace the promise that everything we need, like the morning dew upon the petals, will be abundantly provided. Where we will find the comfort of knowing that tomorrow’s worries are already cradled in the hands of the Eternal Gardener. And worry is replaced with serenity, anxiety overcome with peace.

Judges 6:24

I can’t believe we’re already in March and close to Easter. Where has the time gone! This new year of 2024 has brought with it anything but peace. Conflict and warfare continue to ravage parts of the world, leaving behind devastation and heartache. Here at home it’s an election year, stirring up political divisions that seem to deepen with each passing day. Not to mention the decline of a society which glorifies all that is wicked, and seeks to remove God instead of turn to Him. No wonder people are feeling overwhelmed and disheartened. But as followers of Jesus, we can find comfort in the unwavering truth that our peace doesn’t depend on our circumstances. Instead our peace comes from the mighty “Yahweh Shalom,” the Lord is peace. The One who provides a peace that rises above all circumstances. A divine serenity that can bring healing and harmony to our hearts, our homes, and our world. For when we surrender to Him, our mighty “Yahweh Shalom” brings His people not only physical deliverance but also inner peace and security amidst every trial and challenge.

September 26th – Colossians 3:15

Colossians 3:15

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

In a world where everyone is busy and not finding enough hours in the day, peace is what we crave. Jesus offers such peace. And His peace is vital because it serves as a divine compass in our lives. In times of confusion, the peace of Christ brings clarity, calms our anxieties, and guides us toward decisions and actions that align with God’s will. By letting this peace be our guide, we cultivate harmony in our relationships. We experience inner serenity and walk in the path of God’s purpose for our lives. With gratitude in our hearts, we can cultivate a deeper appreciation for the blessings in our lives and for God’s role in them. Moreover, we are urged to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly, guiding our thoughts, actions, and worship. September 4th – Philippians 4:6-7

Philippians 4:6-7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Anxiety and worry go hand in hand with life. Especially as the days grow darker. But that doesn’t mean we have to stay trapped in the swirling cyclone of turmoil. We have a choice. But unfortunately some people get so used to being surrounded by anxiety and drama, without it they feel incomplete. And sadder still, some even thrive on it. But that’s no way for Christians to live. Because God wants to fill every area of our hearts, minds, and lives, with His perfect peace. A peace that surpasses all human understanding. This peace is not dependent on our circumstances. Instead it’s rooted in our relationship with God. It’s a tranquil assurance that He is in control, cares for us deeply, and we can trust His wisdom and love. As long we the earth is our home we will encounter situations that will test our faith and attempt to rattle our peace. But the peace of God is a profound gift. One that calms the storms within us and allows us to face life’s challenges with confidence and a sense of inner serenity.

August 11th – Colossians 3:15

Colossians 3:15

And let, the peace of Christ, act as umpire in your hearts.”

The hardest job of the game is the umpire. Because even though he knows he’ll make some happy and others angry, he still calls the balls and strikes. And he’s trusted to make impartial judgements according to the rules of the game. The peace of Christ is our personal umpire. Because the serenity we receive from having a close, personal, relationship with Jesus helps us decide between balls and strikes when making decisions or resolving conflict. Serving as a reliable indicator, the peace of Christ lets us know if we’re either on the wrong path or acting accordingly to God’s will. This divine umpire ensures that we stay true to our faith. He guides us away from turmoil and toward a life marked by harmony, purpose, and alignment with God’s perfect plan. And when we lay everything at the feet of the Lord, and allow Him to guide us in every aspect of life, we’ll hit it out the park every time!
