Sin

March 30th – 1 Corinthians 10:13

1 Corinthians 10:13

Making changes is never easy. Everywhere we turn, we are faced with temptation. But no matter what the Enemy entices us with, we have the power to say no. How? Through the power of God. The Lord promises that no matter how strong the urge, when we give that urge to Him, we can overcome. For He is faithful to never allow us to be tempted beyond our breaking point. And not only we will not break, God vows to give us an escape from any and all temptation. So when you feel weak, stand in God’s strength and you’ll be victorious every time!

March 6th – Ezekiel 18:31

Ezekiel 18:31

God wants each us to have an abundant life. But that can only happen when we turn away from our sin and turn back to Him. For if we truly want the new hearts and minds God offers, we have to give up our worldly living and self destructive ways. And instead, surrender to the work of the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to produce a renewal in our lives. For God longs for a close, personal relationship with each of us. What it does mean is that we forgive those who trespass against us, and encourage them to repentance when they trespass against God. When we remember how our Father, in His great love, forgives the unforgivable in us, how could we not show that same love to others!

Neither Do I Condemn You (John 8)

John 8

In John Chapter 8 we find Jesus preaching in the temple, when a group of scribes and Pharisees bring a woman caught in the act of adultery to Him for judgement. “…they said to Him, ‘Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such a woman; what then do You say?”, (vs. 4-5). Seems reasonable right? After all adultery is a sin, this woman was clearly guilty, and in Deut. 22:22 and Lev. 20:10 the Bible teaches that the penalty for adultery was death. …

November 18th – 1 Corithians 15:57

1 Corinthians 15:57

As fallen beings living in a fallen world, death, suffering, and decay are a part of life. But because of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, one day that will all change. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus conquered sin and death. And one day all Christians will replace these earthly frail and fragile bodies of ours, for new heavenly glorified ones. Imperishable, immortal, magnificent bodies, which will be the perfect images of our Lord. Thanks be to God, for His Son has stolen both the victory and the sting of sin forever!
