December 16th – Matthew 1:23

Matthew 1:23

In the hush of falling snow and the twinkle of festive lights, Christmas whispers the eternal truth. “God with us.” Not just a feel good story, the birth of Christ is an invitation to unwrap the gift of divine presence. For our great Creator chose to dwell among us, making Christmas a timeless celebration of love drawing near. And a rejoicing of the fulfilled promise of God. The long awaited Messiah, born in a manger in the little town of Bethlehem. And as we celebrate the birth of Christ, “God with us” unveils a love so tangible, so personal, that it steps into the humblest of human experiences. The manger becomes a throne, and the cry of a newborn heralds the presence of the Almighty. In the quiet stillness of the stable, we encounter a God who, in the form of a vulnerable baby, invites us to know Him intimately. Christmas, at its core, is an invitation to dwell in the warmth of the Creator’s embrace. To experience His nearness, and to marvel at the beauty of “God with us.”

December 8th – Matthew 10:8

Matthew 10:8

Christmas, with its twinkling lights and joyous melodies, has a magical way of awakening the spirit of generosity within us. It’s a season where hearts soften, and the joy of giving takes center stage. Whether through gifts, acts of kindness, or charitable donations, the essence of Christmas reminds us of the profound joy found in selfless giving. For we, as followers of Jesus have freely received much. And in return, we are to freely give much. Which is the true meaning of Christmas. A selfless, giving love found in the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A great divine love manifested in the humble birth in a stable. Christmas becomes a celebration of God’s ultimate expression of love for humanity, inviting us to emulate this love by fostering compassion, kindness, and goodwill toward others. The season becomes a radiant embodiment of the love that unites us all and serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative and redemptive power of love in our lives.

December 6th – Luke 2:7

Luke 2:7

I love the saying that true greatness is not found in majesty, but in the tender embrace of humility. In the quiet humbleness of the manger, we see that the mightiest of miracles often unfolds in the gentlest of places. That’s why Christmas is all about humility. Mary and Joseph found themselves in a humble stable, welcoming the Savior into the world. The King of Kings, born not in a palace,  but in a feeding trough, reflects a profound humility that marks the heart of Christ’s mission. In this modest setting, the Creator of the universe enters humanity with an unparalleled humility. Demonstrating to the world that true greatness lies in selfless service and a willingness to embrace the lowliest of circumstances. The humility of Jesus at Christmas is a powerful reminder that God often reveals Himself in the most unassuming moments. This invites us to approach the festivities with a spirit of humility and gratitude for the love and joy brought forth in the humblest of beginnings.
