Stronghold

November 17th – Psalm 138:7

Psalm 138:7

I love the idea of God extending His loving arms around us forming a protective hedge of safety. With one hand He inspires us with the gift of hope. A radiant light that illuminates even the darkest corners of our journey. And with the other God imparts endurance. A resilient strength that fortifies us through trials, empowering us to press forward when the path is challenging. Together, God’s hands craft a harmonious shield of protection. One offering the power of hope to lift our spirits and the steadfast endurance to weather the storms. God is our great stronghold. No enemy can stand against His will nor breach His wall. This gives us the grace and strength to navigate life’s complexities with unwavering faith. We can face any and all trouble knowing God promises to preserve us. And with each step, God’s ever present hands guide us towards a future infused with hope and sustained by enduring grace.

November 10th – Proverbs 18:10

Proverbs 18:10

I love the quote that says, “With the power of God within us, we need never fear the powers around us.” We live in a world that thrives on fear. Because the Enemy knows how powerless, hopeless, and divided it keeps us. But as Christians, we need not fear the power that rules this corrupt world. For we have a great rock, fortress, and deliverer in the Lord. When we are afraid, lost, and alone, we want a pair of strong and comforting arms to run into. And we have those arms in Jesus. In Him we can find the refuge we so desperately crave. For He is our shield of protection, horn of salvation, and our stronghold. (Ps. 18:2) The Lord is as a strong tower, impenetrable to the evil one and his forces. And nothing can break down His walls or harm the ones inside.  When this world gets to be too much, we can rejoice and give thanks knowing there is someone we can always cling to. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

August 24th – Isaiah 43:2

Isaiah 43:2

When everything around us seems to be falling apart, it can feel as if we’re fighting the battle alone. And it’s true that you find out who your real friends are during the bad times. But even if everyone else deserts us, we have a friend that never will. God is that friend. Author Elbert Hubbard once wrote, “A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.” God not only knows us, warts and all, He formed us, redeemed us, and calls us by name. And in His amazing love, He is our best friend. A friend who stands by us, comforting, encouraging, and loving us through the pain. No matter how deep the waters of sorrow, high the flames of despair, or strong the current of anguish, God is there. He is our shield and our fortress. Our safe harbor, and port in the storm. He will never leave or forsake us. And what a privilege and joy it is to call Him friend!

Forgiveness…A Stronghold Against Satan – (2 Corinthians)

2 Corinthians

In a previous visit to Corinth, known as the “painful visit”, Paul’s authority had been openly challenged by a member of the Corinthian church. Disheartened by the lack of defense for him by fellow church members, Paul returned to Ephesus. There he wrote what is called the “severe letter” insisting the church turn away from their sinful actions and the offending brother be disciplined. …
