Temptations

June 4th – Luke 9:23

Luke 9:23

When Jesus called His disciples, He didn’t promise them an easy road. Instead, He invited them to follow Him, day by day, step by step. The same invitation is extended to us today. Walking with God isn’t a one-time decision, it’s a daily choice. Each morning we decide whether we will follow our own desires or trust God’s plan for our lives.

Some days that choice comes easily. Other days it means surrendering our worries, forgiving someone who hurt us, choosing obedience when it’s difficult, or trusting God when we don’t understand what He’s doing. Taking up our cross isn’t about carrying a burden God never intended for us to bear. It’s about laying down our own will and choosing His instead.

The beautiful thing is that Jesus never asks us to walk a path He hasn’t already walked Himself. He knows the challenges we face, the temptations we encounter, and the struggles we carry. Yet He promises to be with us every step of the way. As we continue to follow Him through both the joys and hardships of life, we discover that no sacrifice compares to the privilege of walking closely with our Savior.

September 25th – Proverbs 4:11

Week 5 – Wisdom In Following God (Proverbs 4:11)

They say the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, and that’s how our walk with Jesus is meant to be. From the moment we receive Him as our Savior, we embark on a spiritual journey. A lifetime path intended to mature, grow, and deepen our faith. However life has a way of knocking us off course with the twists and turns of distractions, temptations, and challenges. No wonder so many take a wrong path, feel lost, and far away from God. But king Solomon was the wisest of all kings. And in Proverbs 4:11 he reminds us of God’s even greater, infinite, wisdom. A precious wisdom always there to guide us and give us a long, good life. When we stumble all we have to do is pick ourselves up, dust off the setbacks, and refocus on Jesus. And no matter how far we’ve wandered, when we come back to Him with a repentant heart, our Lord is there to direct us back on track, making our paths straight once again. He is our loving guide. The one who brings clarity to the journey when we trust Him.

Questions For Reflection

  1. How can we rely on God’s wisdom to guide us back to the right path when we feel lost or distracted in life?
  1. In what ways can we stay focused on Jesus to ensure our spiritual walk remains steady and strong despite life’s challenges?

Let God’s wisdom be your compass, and He’ll always guide you on the straight and steady path. 🙏🏻❤️

September 4th – Matthew 7:24-27

Week 1 – The wisdom of Obedience (Matthew 7:24-27)

Hurricane season is going strong. And as the gulf and east coasts prepare in case a storm approaches, the importance of a strong foundation becomes evident. Homes built on solid ground are more likely to withstand the fierce winds and torrential rains. Just as it is in life. For those of us who build our lives on the solid teachings of Jesus, we’re better equipped to endure the storms that come our way. When trials, challenges, and temptations rage around us, those rooted in Christ remain steadfast. As a well built house stands firm against a hurricane, a life grounded in Jesus’ teachings can withstand any adversity. The storms will come. The Enemy will make sure of that. But with Jesus as our foundation we can face them with confidence, knowing that He will keep us standing strong. For the truth of Jesus’ teachings anchors us in safety, shielding us from life’s fiercest storms. With Him as our cornerstone, nothing can shake our faith.

Questions For Reflection

  1. How can we ensure that we are building our lives on the solid foundation of Jesus’ teachings in our daily decisions and actions?
  1. In what ways can we prepare our hearts and minds to stand firm in faith when life’s storms inevitably arise?

Build your life on Jesus, the rock that never wavers, and you’ll stand strong no matter what storms may come. 🙏🏻❤️

August 23rd – Romans 8:38-39

Week 4 – Living In God’s Love (Romans 8:38-39)

We often worry about the surety of our salvation, haunted by the lingering effects of sin, guilt, or shame. These doubts can lead us to fear that God might withdraw His love or take away His promise of an eternity spent by His side. But in Romans 8:38-39, Paul gives us a profound assurance. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Neither death nor life, angels nor demons, the present nor the future, nor any powers, height, depth, or anything else in all creation can sever us from His love. This isn’t just a comforting thought, it’s a divine guarantee. God’s love for us is unshakeable, unbreakable, and eternal. Our salvation isn’t dependent on our own strength, but secure in the hands of God. No matter what trials or temptations we face, we can rest in the certainty that God’s love will never fail us. This truth allows us to live with confidence and peace, knowing that nothing in the universe can ever take us away from the embrace of our loving Father.

Questions For Reflection –

  1. How can we strengthen our trust in God’s unbreakable love, allowing Romans 8:38-39 to calm our fears and doubts about our salvation?
  1. In what ways can we live more confidently and boldly, knowing that nothing can separate us from the love of God as promised in Romans 8:38-39?

God’s love is a forever kind of love. Nothing can ever come between us. 🙏🏻❤️
