Psalm 4:8

In today’s world sleep aids are a booming industry. Countless people are relying on pills, devices, and remedies to combat insomnia and restless nights. However Psalm 4:8 offers a timeless, cost-free solution. The peace found in God. This promise reassures believers that, despite the pressures and anxieties of life, true rest and serenity come from trusting in God’s protection and care. Unlike commercial sleep aids that offer temporary relief, the peace of God provides a lasting sense of security. This allows us to surrender our worries and fears as we lay our heads to rest. God’s divine peace quiets our minds and calms our hearts, leading to restful sleep that no medication can match. For Christians, the knowledge that the Lord watches over us brings a profound comfort, replacing sleepless nights with tranquility. So while the world struggles for sleep, believers can find genuine and enduring peace in the embrace of God’s love. The true source of deep and peaceful sleep.

Hebrews 12:14 calls us to pursue peace with everyone, recognizing that without it we can’t truly see the Lord. July 16th – Proverbs 17:1

Proverbs 17:1

Better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife.”

In today’s thirsty society, bigger, better, and more is celebrated. And we are encouraged to chase after material wealth with the promise that possessions and abundance will bring us happiness. Yet Solomon had all the fame, power, and things money could buy. And even he understood the importance of contentment and peace. For even though it’s been said many times before, money can’t buy happiness. And no fancy meal, designer clothes, or social media following can replace the treasure of a home filled with harmony and love. In a world consumed by constant striving, Solomon reminds us that true satisfaction can be found in simplicity and a peaceful environment. To appreciate the value of a humble meal where love, understanding, and serenity prevail. This world is filled with division, anger, and strife. Yet we can can cultivate an atmosphere of peace and gratitude, finding fulfillment in the simple joys that nourish our souls.

May 30th – Philippians 4:7

Philippians 4:7

“When Christ died He left a will in which He gave His soul to His Father, His body to Joseph of Arimathea, His clothes to the soldiers, and His mother to John. But to His disciples, who had left all to follow Him, He left not silver or gold, but something far better,  His PEACE!” (Matthew Henry) In this life we will all face trauma, heartache, and pain. Yet as Christians no matter what, we can experience an unshakable inner tranquility. Because when we receive Jesus as our Savior, we also receive the peace of God. A peace that surpasses all human understanding. And one of overwhelming security, serenity, and clarity which goes beyond anything we can comprehend. God’s peace is an impenetrable shield for our hearts and minds. One the Lord gives to guard us against anxiety, fear, and negative thoughts. Are you longing for peace in your life? Through a relationship with Christ Jesus, we can find strength and stability in our inner being, that allows us to face life’s challenges with a sound mind and a steadfast heart.

March 22nd – Isaiah 26:3

Isaiah 26:3

When we want an answer to a question the first we think is to “Google” it. Because after all, the internet is a vast source of information. But God doesn’t work that way. He purposely has us on a need to know basis. Why? I like how Jon Bloom says, “God is a wise Father who knows when knowledge is too heavy for us. He is not being deceptive when he does not give us the full explanation. He is carrying our burdens.” One of the blessings God promises when we trust in Him is perfect peace. And we can only experience such a tranquility when we have deep trust in His love, guidance, and authority on all things. Especially when we don’t have all the answers. God sees everything from beginning to end. And there’s nothing out of His control. So even if we are left in the dark, we can find comfort knowing God never is. His light is always shining, and He’s always working things out for our good. (Rom. 8:28)

January 7th – Isaiah 26:3

Isaiah 26:3

Everyone is in search of peace. That’s why between self help books, online programs, and support groups, finding tranquility is a billion dollar industry. But we needn’t search for the latest thing, or spend even a dollar to find serenity. All we have to do is look to Jesus who promises to give us His perfect peace. The one place the Enemy loves to attack the most is our minds. Because as Proverbs 23:7 tells us, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” So when our focus is on our circumstances instead of on the Lord, our minds become playgrounds for Satan to wreak havoc. But when instead of trusting our fallible thoughts we trust God, we welcome His perfect peace into our hearts and mind. Life is hard. And the battle for our minds is real. But perfect peace is obtainable through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For no matter what goes on the world we can count on this. “He himself is our peace.” (Eph. 2:14)
