Tribulation

May 16th – 1 John 3:2-3

1 John 3:2-3

As followers of Jesus, we find our blessed assurance in the hope of His return. And although the future may be shrouded in mystery, we are confident that when Christ appears, we will be transformed to be like just like Him. How exciting and humbling it is to wonder what our new name will be, how we will look, and where we will dwell in His glorious kingdom and presence. Therefore let us purify ourselves just as the Lord is pure, as we eagerly await His coming. May our hearts overflow with anticipation and joy, knowing that the day will come when we shall see Him face to face. With each passing moment let us draw nearer to Him, embracing the sanctifying work of His Spirit within us. With eager anticipation and overflowing joy, let us prepare ourselves for that glorious day when we will dwell with our Lord forever. Filling our hearts with the radiant hope that sustains us through every trial and tribulation. For we know our ultimate destiny is to be united with Jesus in perfect harmony for all eternity.

May 4th – Titus 2:13

Titus 2:13

Hope can be defined as a desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillment, someone or something on which hopes are centered, or to expect with confidence. In Titus 2:13, we are reminded of our blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This hope is not mere wishful thinking, but a confident expectation grounded in the promises of God. It is the anticipation of the completion of God’s redemptive plan, when Jesus will return in glory to establish His kingdom on earth. Our blessed hope is the anchor for our souls, sustaining us through trials and tribulations as we eagerly await His coming. It reminds us that this world is not our final home, but that we are citizens of a heavenly kingdom, destined for eternal life with our Savior. As we look forward to His return, let us live with purpose and anticipation, striving to live holy and godly lives in this present age. And let us encourage one another with the truth of our blessed hope, knowing that the day of His coming draws ever nearer.

November 17th – Revelation 14:6

Revelation14:6

I am thankful Thant God gives everyone an opportunity to receive the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ

One of the most loving things God does is not give up on us. For He is the God of second, third, and fourth chances. So much so, He gives us ample opportunity to hear and receive the saving gospel of Jesus Christ. You’d think after the rapture, when believers are taken from the earth, God would say, “That’s it. You had a chance. Now suffer the consequences.” But our Heavenly Father wishes for none to perish. And so even during the tribulation, God sends an angel to proclaim the Good News. Everyone on the earth will hear the only message that provides eternal life. Because of His great love, God gives every person one last opportunity to choose life over death. To turn to the Lord and experience a peace, joy, and perfect love for eternity. Afterwards, there will be no more excuses other than a hardened heart. But sadly, because they love sin more than God, some will still reject the gospel, choosing death and destruction.

May 19th – 2 Corinthians 12:10

2 Corinthians 12:10

Human nature tells us that when others hurt us we need to retaliate. To give just as good as we get. But Jesus says that as Christians we don’t follow the fray. And we should rejoice when suffering for Him because it’s one of the greatest blessings we can receive. Look at the apostle Paul. He experienced much tribulation for his faith. Yet he was content with the horrible things he suffered. Why? Because Paul knew that it was when he was at his weakest, he could feel the power of God the strongest. That’s the amazing blessing God speaks of. The blessing of peace and even joy when facing suffering. For in our own power we are easily defeated. But when we rest in God’s, nothing is impossible. Because no matter the trial, the grace Jesus gives us is sufficient for everything we face.

Are you in the middle of a trial and feeling hopeless? Turn to Jesus. For no one understands tribulation and pain like our Savior. A perfect peace that surpasses human understanding, and one that will heal our hearts and quiet our minds. Living in a fallen world brings with it troubles. But knowing we have a mighty High Priest interceding on our behalf, gives us the strength we need to face head on any circumstance. So keep your eyes on Jesus, and through Him claim the victory that is yours!

The Value of Weakness – (2 Corinthians 12)

2 Corinthians 12

The Apostle Paul faced many trials and tribulations during his ministry. He was imprisoned, beaten, stoned, and shipwrecked. Paul lived under constant fear of death, and often went hungry, thirsty, and cold. And even with all of this, God allowed him to be broken further by giving him a constant thorn in the flesh. But instead of giving in or giving up, Paul drew closer to God. And in the process he learned that there is strength in weakness. …

February 10th – Romans 8:35

Romans 8:35

As fallen beings living in a fallen world, trials and tribulations will come to us all. And it’s during those times when we can feel that God has forsaken or abandoned us. But Paul reassures us that is a lie from the Enemy. For nothing, absolutely nothing, can separate us from Christ’s love. We may turn from Him, but the Lord will never turn away from us. Jesus experienced unimaginable suffering and died nailed to a Cross to give us His unconditional love. When we receive Him as our Savior, our bond to Him becomes unbreakable, and the love He has for us will never fail or diminish.

November 7th – Psalm 30:11

Psalm 30:11

Afflictions and suffering are part of living in a fallen world. And even though we may not understand why we go through the hardships we do, we can absolutely trust in our Father. For God promises to make, “all things to work together for good”. (Rom. 8:28) And we can rejoice in knowing that the storms in our life are under God’s control and will only last as long as He commands. Better still, when we come out the other side, our mourning will be turned into dancing, and our sorrow into gladness!
