May 11th – Proverbs 31:28

Proverbs 31:28

Mother’s Day is a celebration of hearts that give, nurture, and carry so much unseen. It’s a day for the moms who make lunch with love, pray over scraped knees and love unconditionally. For the grandmothers whose wisdom lingers long after their hugs. And for the women who love and care like moms, even if they didn’t give birth. It’s a day to honor the ones who hold families together with quiet strength and fierce tenderness. “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her” (Proverbs 31:28). But it’s also a day for those who grieve. Those who ache over babies never held. Who feel sadness over mothers no longer here, and for prayers still unanswered. It’s okay to feel joy and sorrow in the same breath. God sees it all. “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you,” says the Lord in Isaiah 66:13. His comfort wraps around the joyful and the aching. Whether you’re in the thick of motherhood, longing for it, or healing from it, your heart matters. You are loved, seen, and deeply valued. Happy Mother’s Day, to every woman who loves like a mother. You are a gift to this world.

February 21st – 1 John 3:1

1 John 3:1

As Christians, we often find ourselves feeling out of place in this world. That’s because we follow our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is rejected by the world. This side of heaven is ruled by Satan, and so it operates according to self interest, materialism, and power. But our commitment to following Jesus means that we are called to live lives of love, humility, and selflessness. To be salt and light in a dark and broken world. This often means that we’ll face opposition or persecution for our beliefs. However, our citizenship is in heaven, and our ultimate allegiance is to God’s kingdom, not the ways of this world. So our souls can resonate with joy as we embrace our identity as beloved children of the Most High, destined for greatness in His kingdom. In the shelter of His love, we find refuge from the storms of life. Because we are deeply valued and irrevocably cherished by our Heavenly Father. With every breath, we celebrate the privilege of being called His own, basking in the radiance of His love that knows no bounds.

February 16th – Romans 5:5

Romans 5:5

Have you ever felt too ashamed to come to God? Felt your mistakes too great or too many? I know I have. But Paul reassures us that those feelings are from the Enemy. Lies he tells us to try and keep us separated from God. The truth is, because God pours His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, we never have to let shame keep us from His presence. Instead we can approach Him with confidence, knowing that His grace covers every imperfection and failure. It’s a love that removes the burden of shame, reminding us that we are deeply valued and accepted by our Heavenly Father. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, our hearts are cleansed, renewed, and filled with a profound sense of worthiness in God’s sight. As we embrace this truth, we are freed from the chains of guilt and self-condemnation. With hearts overflowing with God’s love, we can approach His throne of grace without fear. Because His perfect love casts out all shame, and invites us into a relationship marked by freedom and intimacy.

October Psalm 136:1

Psalm 136:1

When we think about the abundance of God, we often think of the many blessings He bestows upon us. But God’s abundance is so much more than just material gifts. It’s also about His enduring, unfailing love. A love not bound by time or circumstances, but unchanging, unending, and unconditional. God’s love persists through every trial, every joy, and every challenge in our lives. It remains constant in the face of our imperfections and mistakes. And assures us that, no matter what we go through, we can find solace and security in His love. This eternal love is a source of hope, a wellspring of comfort, and a promise that we are cherished, valued, and never alone. It’s a love that extends beyond our earthly existence, reaching into eternity, reminding us that, in God’s eyes, we are eternally beloved. How can we not accept the invitation to offer our heartfelt gratitude to the God of heaven, whose steadfast love is a constant and limitless source of abundance in our lives.

November 3rd – John 3:16

John 3:16

I am thankful that God held nothing back to save me

When we consider the perfect, awesome majesty of our Father, we can’t help but ask the same question David asks in Psalm 8:4. “What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him.” We are but a speck in this vastness of the cosmos. Frail, wicked, and rebellious enemies of the Lord. But God loves us so much, He stopped at nothing to provide a way for us to be reconciled to Him. Not even sparing His only begotten Son. God fully knew the betrayal, brutality, and rejection His precious Son would face. Yet out of His unmerited love for His children, God sent Him anyway. And because of His love for both us and the Father, Jesus willingly left His glorious throne in heaven to ransom His life for ours. God gave all to call us His. And Jesus shed His blood to save us. We were purchased at a very high and precious price! That’s how wanted, valued, and loved we are by God!
